I’m very pleased to offer this astounding. High-quality 1920s 5-arm chandelier by Halcolite of New York! Halcolite was located at 100 Grand Street in New York City. The chandelier is amazingly luscious. And abounds with rich details. Wow. Wow! The whole is cast brass. And the weight is impressive. I must stress the quality. The brass retains its original polychrome. This is a burnished gold. And with accents of red, blue, and green. Gorgeous. The whole has an appealing but hard-to-describe quality– the five arms of the chandelier seem to be leaping into the air. Like ballet dancers on point. Another wonderful detail is the many dangling finials. I’ve seen the fixture on occasion but the dangles are usually missing. The fixture is not actually restored yet. Save for touching up the blue on the ceiling canopy. The finish is a very good vintage condition. I will fully rewire, and the exposed vertical wire will be cloth-covered like the original. The paper insulators will also be replaced. All this will take a week after payment is received. Style-wise. The fixture is well suited for a Spanish-Revival-style home, a bungalow, Arts& Crafts, or really any home built between 1920s and WWII. At 19 Curity Ave in Toronto. They also had a US presence at 6103 Longfellow Avenue in Cleveland. Ohio. You can Google search the latter. And“stand” in front of the massive brick factory. It is now long abandoned, and its countless widows broken. But it wasn’t that long ago that this factory– like countless such factories across America– was teeming with life. And supporting millions of families. This, back when America actually made stuff. I mean. Wow. The chandelier is rich with detail. And– drum roll please– retains all its original parts! The finial is dazzling! The bottom of the chandelier is stunning. Don’t miss the double dog heads where the arms meet the large ring. Cool. There are five incredible chains with leaf-styled disks. I love it! Above the chains is a dramatic double dog flourish! Note also the original. Distinctive chain… and ceiling canopy! The chandelier is from Virden’s Beacon Line. The main color is also original. A sort of graphite. There are selected components in a burnished gold. The chandelier is not actually restored yet. I don’t know if the tassel is silk but do know that it’s a remarkable feature. And incredible that it has survived. I’ve only ever seen such a feature in old catalogs; this is the first time I’ve ever found one intact. It’s also in good shape. I removed it, gently vacuumed, and replaced it with no loss. The chandelier is also breathtaking. This is Riddle at their best. The whole is an astonishing symphony of curving. Intersecting shapes. Wow. Wow! I love just looking at it. In addition. The chandelier retains its original polychrome. Amazing. The mains colors are a coppery gold and antiqued silver. Gorgeous. There are subtle accents of green, red, and blue. Yum. The square chandelier features a remarkable sixteen candles. Under each candle is a chrome finial. Creating a lively rhythm. If you have been looking for a really dramatic chandelier. Then this rare stunner may be ideal. This fixture is ready to hang. And comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts candelabra base 25W bulbs. I show round bulbs but flame-style bulbs also look well. The original ceiling canopy was lost. Since the images were taken I have replaced this with a period-correct chrome-plated canopy. COLOR: Chrome. Black. White. SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 28-1/2inches and is 20-inches wide. I can remove up to 4-inches of chain; I can add chain. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. The sockets and their wiring are original(and in fine shape) with new paper insulators. The vertical wire is new. ONE 3-bulb candle-style chandelier! TWO 3-bulb down-bulb-style chandeliers! TWO 3-bulb surface-mounted fixtures! TWO 1-bulb pendants! TWO 1-bulb wall sconces! These type fixtures are called strap-style because they are made primarily from flat metal bars. Like belt straps. What I love about such fixtures is how curvaceous they are. Just lovely to look at. The style was very popular in the 1920s and 1930s. PLEASE NOTE: The set is not restored yet. However. It will be shipped fully restored. This will take up to two weeks after payment is received. All the wiring will be new, and the visible wiring will be cloth-covered. Nice. The paper insulators will be new. The original finish on some fixtures looks very good(like the 5-bulb) and will only require minor touching up. Other fixtures will have largely new finishes. Don’t worry, all the finishes will match. I’m good at that! The polychrome is a deep browny gold. There are emerald and reddish accents. Gorgeous! All the original ceiling canopies are in situ. As are the lovely dangly finials.
