Syroco Wood or the SYRacuse Ornamental COmpany was founded in the 1890's by an Austrian woodcarver named Adolph Holstein. Originally they made ornamental carvings for coffins and furniture as well as the interiors of fashionable homes. Including the New Your Governor's Mansion in Albany, New York. As business and demand increased, they developed a molding technique where they could create perfect replicas of their original carvings with a mixture of wood flour, waxes and casting resin, including wood grain for an inexpensive, but beautiful piece.The 1940's saw them making novelty items like corkscrews and other barware that helped them survive into the 1950's. I want to clarify that the arms on these sconces are absolutely 1920's over the top gorgeous original wall lamp arms. Someone has saved these beautiful arms and added the backers and frosted wheel cut glass globes. These are not 100% antique. They did a wonderful job and nothing looks muddled or forced. The golds match well and the top frosted glass shades are beautiful Art Deco style. The sockets and wiring are new and the mounting hardware is all new ready to use. This is a great re-purposing of two great lamp arms. They have not been repainted. They have the original two tone gold gilt finish and the casting is incredible. Pair of vintage gold brass french urn double wall light sconces
Up for sale is a terrific pair of French Urn brass candle sconces. They are in perfect working condition. And each has an operational turn switch also in working condition. These are made from a very heavy brass and can be mounted with two screws, one at each vertical end. The casting work is excellent and shows some wear but in rather fine shape for it's age. I would guess these made sometime between 1910 and 1930. Would look PERFECT for any classic colonial style or baroque/rococo style room. Buyer pays set shipping and insurance. Will not ship to P.O. UP FOR AUCTION I AM OFFERING A VERY PRETTY PAIR OF HEAVY BRASS SCONCES. PARTS OF THEM ARE PAINTED BLACK. AND I DON'T KNOW IF THE PAINT IS ORIGINAL TO IT. I DO SEE BRASS UNDER THE PAINT IN SOME SPOTS ON THE VERY EDGES WHERE THE PAINT HAS WORN OFF. THERE IS ALSO WHITE PAINT AROUND THE EDGES. I HAVE NOT WIRED THEM SO I DON'T KNOW IF THE SOCKETS OR SWITCHES ARE SALVAGEABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT THEY BE REWIRED. THEY MEASURE 14" TALL AND 9.5" WIDE. These are 2 light sconces with a gold frame and fleur du lis accents! they retain their original brillint crystal prisms and crystal bobeche. No missing prisms. These are older sconces. Made in Monteral Canada in the 70s prior to Schonbek moving their operations to the USA these will accept standard chandelier bulbs. Wiring is in excellent shape. p If you have any questions. Vintage Pair Brass Gold Metal Ornate Electric Wall Sconces Candle Candelabra
Pretty Vintage pair of brass and or metal ornate electric wall sconces in very good condition. I am not sure of type of metal they are. But they are well made either way, I was informed they have been rewired and components appear to be there. One sconce may need a cord replacement, could be restored. They measure approx. 10 1/2" in height, 4 1/2" in width, and extend 5 1/2" out from the wall. These were removed from a local estate cottage farmhouse. These are great for decor or use, if so desired. All vintage/antique and pre-owned items are sold as descirbed, in their current pre-loved condition. As always, bid with confidence.

Up for auction is a Pair of Large Elegant Beautiful Antique 1900's French Victorian Gilded Gold heavy Brass Triple Arm Candle Wall Sconce's. They are 22 1/2" long and 14" wide The Detailing is absolutely beautiful. There are 3 Tulip Candle Holders on each one that do screw off or own. They are in a Tulip design with Ornamental Acanthus Leaves. These Sconce's are really heavy 8lb's a piece. I do offer monies back with a 14 day return. PLEASE read all my information!
