This is an antique solid brass student lamp. It is marked Manhattan Brass Co. NY. Pat. May 23. 76 and Dec. 25, 77 and May 20, 79 and is in very good condition. It retains its original milk glass shade. The shade is very thin and is hand blown. There are some flea bites around the top of the shade. But there are no cracks or chips. The lamp has been electrified but it can be reverted back to kerosene without any damage to the lamp. The oil reservoir is the locking type and iserts and twists to keep it in place. Please see all photos as they are the best representation of condition. The lamp stands 20-1/2" tall overall and the base is 6" in diameter. Check my feedback and Bid with confidence! Here we have a very cool Machine Age Edison wall sconce with a really great japanned brass finish and 8 inch antique flat milk glass shade. Including the shade this lamp will stick out about 14 1/2 inches from your wall. Brass has tarnished areas all over. I have not attempted to clean at all. The milk glass is in good shape. Some minor chips around bottom edge that sits in chandelier pockets however this part doesn't show. It looks like a finial is missing from undersidein the center. Please see pic. Hard to notice. Could be replaced with anything or left as is. This was removed for renovation and worked at the time of removal. the bulb sockets look great- could have been replaced at some time as they look almost new. Simply large and wonderful massive wall sconces suitable for any large home or brownstone. There are two(2) wonderful wall sconces that are totally perfect and defect free. Purchased in the 1950 from a 1920's gold coasts estate's liquidation/destruction they were briefly used and have since sat in a basement closet since the 1970s.what a shame. In the 1950-1990s a tremendous amount of the estates constructed on Long Islands north shore were torn down and destroyed to make room for the sprawling suburbia. Many artifacts and true works of craftsmanship were lost. Some were saved and pop up from time to time. This is a listing for a vintage gilded bronze or brass Art Deco sconce it's beautifully designed with a silky smooth white glass shade with small chips on the upper edge(see photo No 3) but it is not showing when you put sconce together. The sconce is in good antique condition with some aged patina and one screw that's not original. Old unusual 6 brass light fixture with milk glass insert. Measures 19 1/2" diameter where it attaches to ceiling and hangs down approx 16" The milk glass insert is approx 15" diameter narrowing down to 5" diameter and is 8" high. One small chip on the smaller edge which is covered with brass piece with vented shade holder. The shade holder is bent around edge and is missing the wire that holds shade. Vintage Matched Pair Brass and Hobnail Milk Glass Globe Ceiling Lights. The tag on the bottom states they were made by Thomas Industries Inc. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. I am not sure on age but I will tell you that they were rescued from a 100 year old Victorian Home here in Pittsburg. Kansas. They were originally mounted in a ceiling but they would also look great mounted on the top of some decorative columns. It is very rare that these survived intact for all these years. They are in Near Perfect Condition with No Damage Noted. I would rate them a solid 9.5 out of 10. They are about 13 inches tall and 9 inches around.
