The cherub or angel is gilded spelter in a rich decadent old gold. He has large splayed beautifully detailed wings that flow out behind him. He has the traditional cherub podgy knees and derriere and wonderful tumbling curls. His body is draped with a swag that falls around his middle. There are no missing fingers or toes and he is all good and strong. With is arms splayed he holds the wirework in his hands with two delicieux opaque glass roses shades. This is a Very Interesting Old Cherub Chandelier as found in an attic. It has 5 rather large cherubs sitting on leafs with 5 lights above them. I believe it has it's original finish on the frame but the gold trim looks like it may have been touched up over the years. It has wear some small areas of finiash loss but it is still very nice. This amazing chandelier was found at the Paris flea market last spring! Housing 3 lights. Adorning wonderful swags of crystal balls and green velvet back plates with porcelain roses.
