This 1930s-40s mahogany plant/display stand is in the original found condition which is very good. It is both functional and can be used in various locations. It has a small banded inlay on each side of the top and the center column. It as four(4) original small wooden feet. The wear is appropriate and consistent for the age and use. This is a BEAUTIFUL. Antique, French Art Deco(1920s) full size bed FOOTBOARD which has been reclaimed and repurposed. This lovely repurposed coat or towel rack is Mahogany wood which has been painted and heavily distressed for a chippy, shabby, French Country look. The color is a lovely French blue which has been layered with an over glaze of white to give the footboard a very soft blue finish. The beveled edge trim and the large center medallion have been painted white and also heavily distressed. The legs are still attached for added interest. There are three double coat/towel hangers attached to the lower section of the footboard. These are in an antiqued brass finish with a little silver tone in them as well. Description: Here is a beautiful Edwardian stand ca. 1905 made of mahogany with a beautiful patina to it. Most people will think this is a plant stand but it was originally made as a telephone stand. Telephones were probably the most hi-tech devices in most homes of the period and rated their own specialized piece of furniture. This lightweight stand was easy to carry to place by the chair of the person who was receiving the phone call and be put back against the wall when they were finished. I know this because I have seen another example that had a sticker on the bottom saying is was approved by the Western Electric Co. and I learned that at that time Western Electric Co. made the phones and every household only leased the phone from them and they approved a line of accessories they endorsed to be used with their telephones. Someone has ... moreremoved the stickers or decals from the bottom of this stand. This stand will make an excellent plant or lamp stand. It has those nice. Clean lines that were popular during the Edwardian Era. It has a deep mahogany color to it with a great patina with only a few of the nicks and scratches that come from people picking up and putting down a 3– 4 lb. telephone on it for decades. At one point there was a split on one foot that was expertly repaired somewhere back in time and there is a nibble out of one of the side decorations but it is on the underside so not readily visible as you can see in my pictures. 19c Antique American Queen Anne Walnut Mahogany Wood Table Candle Lamp Bed Stand Extraordinary find these are almost impossible to find in such good condition. This table dates to late 1800's solid walnut construction with veneer mahogany top. This piece is solid through out the large bolts on the underside are original to this piece along with it's true original finish. The top will show the natural aged patina truly sought after by most collectors of fine antique furniture. This stand is 30.5" tall by 18" wide by 16" depth. A great size for a bed side table/ night stand or entry way side table about anyplace in your home. These were used for candlesticks in the 1800's and many of them had damage to the tops, this one I must say shows no damage to it's original finish. Antique Queen Anne Style Mahogany Candle Stand with Crisp Hand Carved Details
Description: Here is an AMAZING antique that came out of a multi-million dollar stately home in Hartford CT that was filled with millions in antiques. Bidding was furious on the contents of this estate and this gem was the only piece I was able to win but it really is a winner. We see quite a few of these mahogany candle stands but this one has some details which places it head and shoulders above the rest. The top has great hand carved details. There is a well carved rim decoration in the form of a stylized laurel wreath and that is not the only carving. There is a well carved"urn” on the base of the nicely turned column. An extra detail you will see is that the top is not just held onto the base with a metal screw but that the top of the column is turned so that the wood itself is threaded and screws itself into the top receiver. The ... morelegs and feet on many of these tables were made from built up piece of wood but this one has each leg carved out of a solid piece of mahogany as you can see in my pictures. Please look at all my pictures to judge color and condition for yourself. The stand measures around 18” tall and the top is 10” in diameter which makes it a perfect size for use in many settings. Antique Victorian Ornate Hand Carved Mahogany Pedestal Plant Stand
This is a vintage wooden pedestal stand. This piece has a stunning apperance with it's rich deep cherry color and intricate carvings. It is a large. Decorative stand, possibly for a plant or vase and is made of mahogany. It is hand-carved with three feet that support the base and center post. A crown design is featured in the center of the base. The top platform features a leaf design and has a decorative beaded edge. The underside of the platform features a floral pattern. There is a sticker on the bottom of the stand that reads"made in Indonesia" with a handmaking furniture code for this specific piece. This stand has been in my family for about 10 years and my mom purchased it at an antique store in Nevada. The owner of the store told us the background story. She had purchased an entire victorian estate of furniture and the ... morelady who owned the stand had inherited it from her mother and it had been in their family for almost 100 years.
