The rest appears to be all original finish, and worn areas can be seen in the finish especially on the top. This stand has 4'sections' in it. Several years ago small lot of authentic antique signs were found in East Pepperell Massachusetts. They all advertise for“Parlor Furniture” ... moreat“Saunders’s Country Department Store” These signs had never been used and were probably going to be used before the store burnt down in the Pepperell town fire of 1909. The majority of the signs that were found were in poor condition with paint loss. However the Saunder’s Corner Country Department Store Sign in this sale was one of the only ones that was still in very good condition. This sign advertised for Mission Furniture and depicts an Art& Crafts chair table and lamp. There is some wear to the paint in the upper right hand corner but that’s it. Painted on flexible galvanized steel this early 20th century sign measures 12” wide by 36” tall. The last owner properly framed this sign under glass. Listed without any reserve. ENGLISH ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ARTS& CRAFTS CARVED OAK MAHOGaNY INLAID WOOD CLOCK ENGLISH ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU ARTS& CRAFTS CARVED OAK MAHOGANY INLAID WOOD CLOCK An unusual clock of the Art Nouveau- Arts and Crafts period being of a beautifully carved wood depicting deep and crisply carved flowers and leaves with scroll to the base and inlaid woods of a floral design to the surrounding face of the clock. The clock is an electric clock but I don't believe this is the cases original clock. The original most likely having been of a wind up mechanism and with deeper workings. The original winding mechanism possibly being fitted into the base as there is a hole in the case here. I am not absolutely sure of the type of wood the case as I am not very good at judging different types but it may be mahogany. It is difficult to put an exact ... moredate on the clock as it appears to have some of the Art Nouveau style of decoration as well as of the Arts and crafts period so could possibly be right at the end of the Arts Nouveau period beginning of the Arts and Crafts period showing a combination of the two styles. The electric clock is wired and with plug but this absolutely would need to be checked by an electrician if required for use. The clock does work but is sometimes needs a bit of a jiggle to get it started and as the clock is set deeper than it would be in it's original case it is also a bit of a fiddle to adjust the fingers although it can be done. Other than the above mentioned the clock is in lovely condition showing just one or two minor surface marks but with no chips to the carving. Snips, cracks or damage and with the many pictures giving a good representation of condition and where it can be judged on it's own merit, so please do check these out carefully before bidding. The case is oak. And the central etched panel is pine(thus the difference of patina on the inside of the door- picture 8. It stands on bun feet, and can be used sitting on a table or hanging on the wall, as it also has metal hooks on its back. There are two shelves inside it. The numbers 4522 and 100, and the date 1900 are penciled on the top left corner of the interior of the pine panel. The artist's monogram is found on the front panel amidst the floral decorations. A large antique solid brass stylised dolphin sculpture. Mounted via a shaft to a brass plate on an oak base it is very reminiscent of Arts& Crafts styling. The thick brass dolphin is the same on both sides and there is the mark of where a plaque/cartouche was mounted on the base. Green baize to the underside. Antique c1900s Arts & Crafts Mission Fumed Oak / Ebony Picture Frame w Art Print
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1900- 1915 Arts& Crafts dark quarter sawn fumed oak with ebonized outer margin 16-1/4" x 32-1/2" picture frame with lovely original print. The print is the original to the frame and has never been removed- I can not see any markings to indicate the name of the print nor the artist or publisher and do not want to take it out of the frame. The frame is in Very Nice Original Condition- the outer margin is ebonized and has a grooved or furrowed designs. The wood is quarter sawn oak and has a wonderful somewhat dark orig stain. It is in great shape- no damages and wear is light. There are a couple of small areas on the ebony outer frame that have light smudges in the finish from a drip of white paint. This is hard to notice and quite trivial, easily darkened if you would so choose. The ... moreback is original but the protective dust cover thin paper covering is missing. The print may very well be signed but it would be beneath the visible area and I do not want to remove the print from the frame. It is in Excellent Condition- no damages- looks great but was hard to photograph. The print itself measures approx 9-1/2" x 25-1/2" The glass is clear and Is of course original to the frame and print- no damages. But the double, forged iron handles stand 3” tall. It is in excellent condition with a tight separation near one end. The nature result of shrinkage of oak over a period of 110 years or so. The tile has been placed in a newly custom built quarter sawn white oak frame which has been given an old fashioned shellac with wax finish. I cannot be sure of the age. the back of the tile looks very fresh but this is not necessarily a reason to dismiss the fact that it was made during the American Arts and Crafts period(1890-1915) Also sometimes know as the Mission or Stickley era. The base has 2 small added brass brackets to add support- otherwise it is all held together but the old original mortise& tenon. There is 1 small old chip along the top left edge, otherwise fine clean solid condition. Guaranteed a very old genuine antique oak bookcase 1890-1910 era. Local pick is preferred. We are located just south of Boston Ma. A mortise and tenon joint is a strong. Uncomplicated method of joining two pieces of wood, usually at right angles. It has been used for thousands of ... moreyears in architecture and the construction of anything from boats to furniture. The method is based on fitting a narrow end of one piece of wood(the tenon) into a hole carved into another piece of wood(the mortise) The mortise is made to be the exact size of the tenon, creating a tight friction joint where no glue is necessary, which enables the wood to expand and contract without cracking. The mortise and tenon joint is a basic woodworking skill. Although it was popular to show the end of the tenon in Arts and Crafts design(called a through mortise and tenon) Traditionally it leaves no visible evidence of the joinery.

Offered here is an antique German made solid oak wood Arts& Crafts/ Art Deco era regulator wall clock in excellent working condition. It features an 8 day two train key wind all brass movement with#30 stamped in the lower right corner of the back plate of the movement. It strikes on each half hour on 3 rods. Counting the hours at the top and once on the half hour with a bim-bam chime. T he clock face is a br ushed silver color metal dial with arabic deco numerals and has some minor marks. The bezel is brass with an expected patina and a glass panel which covers the face is undamaged. There are 3 glass panels underneath which show the large pendulum. The oak wood cabinet's finis h is a beautiful original dark finish and has only as few small marks from use over the last 100 years. The raised ornamentation on the top is painted gold. ... moreThere are no damaged. Loose or missing pieces and everything appears original. The pendulum and a key are included. It keeps good time. Chimes properly and sounds very nice. Measurements are 23 3/4" high x 11" wide x 6 1/2" deep. The dial face is 6" across. I do not service the clocks I sell. But indicate the working condition and any other issues to the best of my ability and as such it is being sold as found. Circa 1880-1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The actual gong measures approx 8 1/2 inches(215mm) in diameter and is made from solid brass. It hangs from an ornate oak. Brass, and copper wall bracket, modelled as a flower, with copper leaves and petals, and a brass stem. The metalwork has acquired a nice patina with age; it would look stunning if polished up to a bright finish. But this is a choice I leave to you. The bracket measures approx by 11 1/2 inches(290mm) tall. By 3 inches(75mm) wide, by 6 inches(155mm) deep. It is in good original condition with light wear consistent with its age. For auction this super antique/ vintage Arts& Crafts Art Deco silver plated and oak Tyg(tig) Champagne Wine Bottle Holder Coaster Rest- c 1880- 1900. Unusual three handled coopered oak and silver plate bottle holder with three blank monogram cartouche shields. This is not an ice bucket) The holder is in general good vintage condition. Commensurate with materials, great age and use. The high lacquer oak barrel is good with no damage just general surface wear and marks and some typical shrinkage. The silver plated bands and cartouche shields have no silver plate left. This has left a nice warm brass patina. The handles are all hand crafted and differ slightly is size and shape typical of hand crafted items. One cartouche shield is missing a small pin. One handle has a slightly larger screw and the top of this handle. This rare folk art functional and decorative decahedron piece is made with 10 sides that are attached on the bottom with brass slot head screws and attached at the top with hand cut leather rawhide strips in a cross stitch pattern that are tacked inside with brass round head tacks and brass pyramid tacks, indicating its 1800's construction. The last two pictures show its possibility of use as a display table, night stand or end table. A little pillow would also facilitate it as a functional stool. The solid oak is very good. The mitred joints are good with a little shrinkage but no damage. The frame did house a print of"Dante and Beatrice" by Henry Holiday. The small subject plaque is still present. This should be relatively easy to remove or have painted with the new subject! SET OF 3 ARTS& CRAFTS PERIOD/ ART NOUVEAU CABINET DOORS The inside(recessed) panels are carved floral designs. The oak is a rich deep color and some of the panels are quarter-sawn. Size: 15 3/8" x 16 3/8" x 11/16" All in great condition. The right panel has two partial splits on the right side. At the top and the bottom, but it is still stable and completely beautiful. Original hardware pulls are also in excellent condition. Hinges are missing some parts. These would be great as art pieces. Or incorporated in your cabinetry. Would be great as doors for a series of medicine cabinets.

Wisconsin about 1905, this Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period desk marked"Pat. 1905" has fascinating features. On the left is a shallow drawer with a tin bottom for metal type. Below is a file drawer with a front that tilts open and the adjustable pusher tilts back for easy access. Six shallow drawers were made for large wooden type and advertizing logos. At the bottom right are two 3x5 card file drawers with pushers. Deep drawers glide smoothly and have dovetailed joints. Brass feet protected the legs when floors were mopped. Richly figured quarter sawn oak has an excellent deep finish. Cast brass hardware is original. But one is slightly different, presumably a replacement.
