Old Mission Style Hall Tree/ Coat Tree/ Umbrella Stand Oak Up for auction is a lovely old hall tree. The wood is oak. It has 2 umbrella holders. 6 hooks, one enclosed cabinet, and a shelf. I am not sure if the backboard(thinner) wood is oak. The dimensions are: 70" tall 27" wide 11" deep 7" wide umbrella opening. 6" wide at the bottom. The oak framework pieces for the umbrella section are 1 1/4" wide on top, and 2 1/4" wide at the bottom. The short shelf is 11" long x 3" deep Enclosed cabinet is 25" tall x 10" wide x 10" deep Small head nails used throughout. Please note: I do not think that the hooks are original to the piece. And multiple holes have been drilled over the years. The diamond shaped area was for a mirror, but I do not have the mirror. There are 8 original holes to ... morehold the mirror. There are 5 additional holes drilled into the backboard area that are not original. The enclosed cabinet has one shelf but only has only one support piece so the shelf is not installed. Some wear and tear on the bottom of the legs. At the curved top of the unit(a separate piece) that is held in by a groove, there is a bit of damage to the wood. Only a few deep scratches. On the back of the unit. The letters M A W are written. I cannot find a manufacturers stamp. Please see photos for condition. I have described it best I can. And the unit is being sold as is. Turn Of The Century Mission Style Oak/Chestnut Wood? Coat Rack(SEE ALL 12-PHOTOS) Nice overall condition with no structural issues. A nicely age appearance with no cracks. Chips or gouges. NOTE: One of the steel hooks looks to have been replaced at some point in the past(SEE PHOTOS#7 and#8) The hook is exactly the same as the other three. But the"ware/patina" is not at the point of the other hooks. Other than that, there's just your typical 100 years of"general ware" I can not tell for certain what wood is used. I believe it's either oak or chestnut. Measures 70" tall overall. The post is 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" and the base(leg width) measures 23-1/2" across. The steel hooks measure 6" long and stick out 3-5/8 inches. Unit weight: 14 lbs. 5 ozs.

Top right corner has a small piece under the top ledge that's cracked, bottom left has some cracks at the corners and the lock needs to be shimmed to keep closed. The lock has no key. Antique Mission Oak Arts & Crafts Hall Tree Coat / Hat Rack 72"
Offered for sale is a very nice antique mission oak Arts and Cafts era hall tree or coat rack hat stand. It is a high quality. The hooks are orignal and are wrought iron. No broken or missing hooks. It stands around 74 inches tall and makes a 18.5 inch footprint at the bottom. It weighs around 13 pounds. It is in very good conditon. Some small abrasions. Chips, etc which I have shown in the pictures. There is some white paint rub on the top point, which should come of easily with some extra fine steel wool. In order to keep shipping costs dowm. the base will be disassembled from the pole. I will also remove the hooks as antique wrought iron tends to be brittle and removing the hooks will lessen the possiblity of breakage during shipment. As you can see in the pictures. This beautiful hall tree has been in one family for the last 30 years. At 24" wide. And 74" tall, it is narrow and perfect for just the right spot. Classic Mission style, or Stickley"like" but has no markings or manufacturer information. The mirror is in great condition, there is a cubby with hinged lid for keys, shoehorns, hatpins, etc. Originally there were six had hooks, but the current owner preferred using just four. Cleveland OH Tag Here's a great old oak hall tree or coat rack manufactured by the R.W. Van Kirk Company of Cleveland. Ohio. Doing research I found evidence that this company existed between 1901- 1929. It stands 68" tall with a 1.625" square shaft and 21" long crossing stand. There is a large 6" tall copper over brass double hook on each side of the shaft. The base is connected to the shaft with a solid steel hex screw. The original manufacturer's tag is still attached to one of the base crosspieces. To ship this I will remove the hooks and base from the shaft and pack them together.
