This auction is for a classic Solid Mahogany Planter Plant Stand from England. It also makes a Wonderful Candle Stand! This is a very nice and unique planter. It has been in our home for around 10 years. I bought it at an auction with the intent of selling it right away. But my wife took possesion of it from me. Now, 10 years later, she put a mahogany drying rack in it's place and told me I could list it now. When you look at it, it appears to be oak. The color is a dark honey oak, but it is indeed mahogany. It has a shelf near the base which held a ironstone biscuit jar for 10 years. It's very well made and it is in very good overall condition. It would add intrest& charm to any room, foyer or hall in your home. I would guess it was made in the early 30's. Vtg Victorian Ornate Hand Carved Mahogany Pedestal Decorative Fern Plant Stand
Carved Wooden Pedestal This is a vintage wooden pedestal or stand. This piece has a striking apperance. And would demand attention in any room it adorned. It is a large, decorative stand, possibly for a plant or vase. The stand appears to be made of mahogany, but I am unable to say for certain. It features an ornate, hand-carved series of designs. Three feet support the base and center post. A crown rests in the center of the base. Vertical lines run up the main post, stopping at a wonderful carved rope design, just below the main platform. The platform features a leaf design and has a decorative beaded edge. The underside of the platform features a floral pattern. There is a sticker on the bottom of the stand that reads"made in Indonesia" The stand has the following measurements: Height: 57 1/4" Width at Widest Point(tripod ... morebase) 19 1/2" Depth: 19 1/2" Diameter of the platform base: 10 3/4" Diameter of the platform top: 8 1/4" This is in great condition overall with only light signs of age or use. There is on spot on one of the supporting feet that appears to have been repaired at some point during production. There is a similar spot on the base of the stand. I noticed a crack on the decorative crown in the center of the tripod base. Which in no way affects the integrity of the wood. There is one large chip in the wood on one of the feet, which is not visible when the stand is upright. There may be small scratches or spots of wear, but I see nothing of else significance to report. Please see pictures for more details, and please ask questions if you have them. Grotesque Antique Oak Fern Plant Stand Heavy Carving After Horner Gargoyle
We are pleased to offer this antique plant stand for auction. This heavily carved oak stand measures 29 ½ inches tall and is 12 x 12 inches at the base. Heavy and solid. This antique features heavily craved grotesque animal figure with ornate decorative trim in the center. Near the base the figure has acanthus leaves as feet which really add a nice touch in my opinion. This piece retains the original surface with a nice warm patina. The top has a few small paint specks and also an age crack or two. We have pointed these cracks out for accuracy. These do not affect the piece structurally and are typical with antique oak pieces which dry out over the years. A stunning piece for the discriminating collector

This is a wooden antique ashtray stand. It stands 22" high. The base is 7 3/4" x 6 7/8" and the top is 5 5/8" x 6 5/8" It stands on 4 wooden ball legs. It has a very unique harp design in the middle and matching edges on the bottom and top piece. This would make a very nice stand for a plant. Fern or even an art piece. It's time to bring all houseplants in for the winter and this antique mission style plant stand will display your botanicals beautifully. The stand itself is constructed of oak and is in very good antique condition save for a few age appropriate marks on it- there is one small splash of paint near the top on one leg. The original splint basket does have a few splits in it but is not compromised in durability from these flaws. There is a small section of the top exterior rim missing. There is one ball foot missing from the underside of the basket but it doesn't seem to affect the stability as it sits in the stand. The stand measures 27" tall and about 13 1/2" wide at the outside edge of the legs. The basket has an inside diameter of 10" and measures 3 3/8" deep. the stand is unsigned and I am guessing it dates from ... moreabout the 1920's. It is beautifully detailed with a fluted column pedestal. It is nice and sturdy weighing over 11 pounds and is in really nice condition. There are no chips or cracks and the finish is very nice. You can see the seams where the wood is joined together on the pedestal.
