This is an antique Victorian solid quartersawn oak pedestal or stand with storage on one side. It measures aprox. 15" square at the top. 12" square at the bottom and is 36" high. It comes from a local Odd Fellows lodge or hall, the Odd Fellows are a lot like the Masons. There are some nicks and dings mostly on the sharp edges and some light scratches and dings on the top from use over the last 100 years, overall it is in good condition. Notice the high quality of the wood and the nice turned detail on the column. Top diameter is 12” Bottom diameter is 13” The column is 15” long and about 3 ½” at the widest. Total height is 18” when put together As far as I know this piece has never been refinished. I took it apart to be able to say with certainty that it was indeed solid oak wood. Nice patina on the quartersawn oak giving the oak a nice warm color. This hall tree would fit in any decor, Victorian, Mission, etc. The hall tree stands approx 77 1/2 inches tall, the back is 37 inches wide. The bench portion of the hall tree is 39 inches arm to arm.
