This is a lot of two cast metal eagle items. Fresh from an estate sale filled with antiques. The larger item is possibly cast aluminum. Painted black, and has an eagle figure with wings spread, nice detail in the feathers, and two drilled holes for mounting onto a wall. It is molded with eagle leaning forward away from the wall, adding depth to this sculptural ornament. It is 20" across, 6" high and 3" deep. It has some paint loss, wear and dirt at back. This may date from the 1935 to 1945 era. The smaller item has what looks like a bronze nineteenth century eagle form on a S-scroll cast iron support. The eagle shows copper tones and some green corrosion at back. The scroll support shows signs of rust. This may have been a gate. Fence or garden ornament finial. This wonderful old heavy brass finial shows a classic American Eagle with its wings outstretched. Most of the gilt is intact; I'm sure it's been exposed to the elements for years so the gile shows wear in a few areas(see photos) But it just accentuates the details such as the feathers on the wing, chest and tail. It weighs 1 1/2 pounds. And measures 4 1/2 inches across and 5 inches high including the base. The diameter of the base is 2 inches with a 1 1/4 inch screw. It would look fantastic as a decoration. Here's a great old iron eagle that I believe was a flag pole finial. It weighs just under 10 pounds and has a 15 inch wing span. Height is just over 6 inches. This is a beautiful vintage Eagle Flag Pole topper that came out of an Estate Sale along time ago. I believe it is cast brass but I am no expert on metals. I have seen some that say cast aluminum but on the bottom where the hole is it definitely looks gold. It weighs a bit over 2lbs and is 11" tall by 5" wide. Up for bids is a large vintage cast brass eagle flagpole topper or finial with attached long gold braided tassels as pictured. The eagle would have sat on top of a flagpole in a county courthouse. VFW, American Legion Post or some other type of fraternal club or organization. It looks like an older piece from the 1950's or 1960's with lots of detail. It stands 8 1/2" high from the opening for the pole to the top of the wings and measures 9 3/8" wide across the tips of the wings. It weighs 2 1/4 pounds with attached tassels that measure 48" long. The inside opening for the flagpole is 7/8" wide. Everything looks to be in good condition with no cracks or breaks but there is some light wear to the finish on the eagle and to the tassels as seen in the pictures.

Very nice Eagle that I'm guessing was originally a finial for the top of a flag pole. I am pretty sure it is brass; it is heavy. The color is right, and it is non-magnetic. It is in really nice condition. It does have a couple of spots on it that you can see in the photos that may be a bit of corrosion. There is a crack on the back side of the right wing. It does not go deep so it may be a crack in the coating(it cannot be seen from the front) It is just under 5 inches tall and the wing span is also 5 inches. It has a 1 inch diameter hole in the bottom and a 1/2 inch diameter hole in the top. I'm really not sure what the hole in the top is for. I SHIP WITHIN THE UNITED STATES ONLY. Selling this Vintage Antique Solid Brass Eagle Flag Pole Finial/Topper. Eagle has a very nice curved 5 1/4" wingspan and stands 2 1/2" high. Between Eagles legs is a predrilled hole to mount a thin flag pole on back. The back is cast open to rest thin pole inside. The initials MC stamped inside. Eagle shows great detail in brass. Bottom is solid. Good condition. Minor tarnish, no chips or cracks. See Pictures.

Antique Vintage Finial of sorts.I am not sure if this actually came off of a flagpole or something else. It is a super heavy piece weighing 8.35 ounces. It does not stick to a very strong 65 pound magnet. It is approximately 2" tall with a 5 inch wingspan. I can not completely commit to the type of metal. However it appears brass or bronze in color and does not stick to a very strong magnet.I really think it's solid Brass I photographed the bottom of the base putting my camera through a loop because to me it looked like there was a possible marking there.Perhaps a TC? Heavy Brass Eagle Flag Topper Finial for Flag Pole - Old Design 7 inch height
Old School design of Heavy Brass Golden Eagle. Comes with original screw. Salvaged from an stage backdrop at high end theater. Very heavy brass with almost no cast lines that are easily seen. Possibly molded from one piece. The indented bottom portion of the eagle is exactly 2" The depth of sticking a pole into the hole for mounting is 2" as well. From just above the ring before the eagles foot pedestal is exactly 5 inches. The wingspan is 4.5 inch at its largest and the pedestal ring the eagle stands on is 3/4 inch. The more worn portion of the base under the eagles feet and pedestal is exactly 2 inches. Which is the precise depth a pole can hold the finial. The size(diameter) of the hole is 7/8 inch wide. Large Vintage Gold Colored Brass Eagle Flag Pole Flagpole Topper or Finial
Up for bids is a large vintage gold colored eagle flagpole topper or finial as pictured made from a non magnetic cast metal probably brass. The eagle would have sat on top of a flagpole in a county courthouse. VFW, American Legion Post or some other type of fraternal club or organization. It looks like an older piece from the 1950's or 1960's with lots of detail. It stands 8" high from the opening for the pole to the top of the head and measures 5 1/4" wide across the middle of the wings. The inside opening for the flagpole is 7/8" wide. In the pictures I just have it sitting on the handle of a broomstick. It does not come with a flagpole. Overall everything looks to be in good condition with no cracks or breaks. Being sold as pictured and described so please ask any questions you may have before you place a bid.
