We believe this matching 2 piece set to be all original having the original finish, beveled mirror, hardware and marble. Bed: This beautiful high back bed measures a total height to the top of the head-board is 80 inches( 6 ft 8 in) Height of the foot-board measures 31 inches, height to the flat portion of the fancy side rails measures 15 inches. The outside measurements of the bed are 57 1/2 inches wide by 79 1/2 inches long and the inside mattress area measures 54 1/2 inches wide by 75 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit. The total weight of this bed is approximately 150 lbs(dis-assembles into four pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving) This bed is very solid and sturdy and has an impressive presence. The center top of the mirror is graced with a beautiful scrolled foliate crown with carved grape cluster center. This beautiful crown is removable for shipping purposes and sits on the gorgeous mirrored top which is adorned with elegant moulding. Many raised burled panels, rosette roundels, fancy leaf carved shoulders, four candle-stands(unusual as most Victorian dressers only have two) and elegant pierced carved grape and leaf carved ornamentations on the sides. The entire mirrored top is removable for shipping purposes and sits on the very ornate white marble top base. Antique Eastlake Dresser This is an Eastlake style antique dresser. We believe it is composed of walnut with a medium-tone finish. It has been finished with a lovely marble surface and a large mirror top. The mirror has a beautiful and ornate carved design. Three large drawers sit below the marble surface. The drawers have dovetailed construction. All of the drawers are 33" wide and 14" deep. The top drawers is 6 1/8" tall. The middle is 7" tall and the bottom is 8 1/2" tall. The entire set-up measures 86" in height. It is 41 3/4" at the widest point. And 17 3/4" deep. It weighs approximately 177 pounds. The exposed marble surface measures 40 7/8" by 13 3/4" This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. There are no visible cracks or repairs. There are ... morea few chips along the dresser edge. It appears as though there was originally a crown as well as a pair of candle holder arms. These pieces are no longer included. The mirror may be a replacement, since it is not beveled, but it is still a lovely match. There is a slight separation in the joint at the top of the mirror arch. I see a few very faint paint splatters on the dresser. There are minor imperfections, such as scratches or spots of wear, which I believe should be expected on a piece of this age. For your consideration we have a ca. 1850 American bureau. I purchased this about 12 years ago from an antique dealer who bought it from an elderly descendant of the original builder. May be made of chestnut. But I am not certain of this. Good condition overall, shows honest wear and patina, I believe the finish is original and untouched. Several scuffs and other marks, please refer to the images. Handles are original, small wheels were added to the bottom and are not original. All drawers open smoothly but one needs a little lift to close, I've chosen not to correct this to maintain its original charm. The earlier timbers we refer to are specifically, the carcass, including the top and drawer fronts. The dresser boasts great craftsmanship including a very good quality one-piece moulded top. The front of the dresser features classing geometric mouldings to he drawer fronts along with inset side panels. The two large working drawers, which are hand dovetailed and pine lined, feature the Victorian brass drawer knobs. The dresser stands on the barley twist shaped legs with connecting stretchers to the back legs for added strength. The backboards, inset side panels and drawer linings are constructed of solid pine. This item features a mid-brown oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
