Dovetailed case and superbly formed crown molding. After careful examination and realizing there was no such animal as an eight drawer Chippendale period maple dresser. We recently reexamined it to discover that it was cleverly re-worked about 100 years ago to make it into an eight drawer chest. It was a very high quality re-working of this piece. We wanted you to be fully aware of this issue and we are going to adjust its price as much as we can considering we paid strongly for this now extremely unique piece. Its secondary woods are constructed from pine, maple and chestnut. All the wood is period and comes from the original piece. This Circa 1780-1800 chest is 39" long, 19 3/4" wide(deep) and 36" tall. The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. They will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. 53611 ANTIQUE 1840s EMPIRE MAHOGANY MANS PETITE DRESSER W MARBLE TOP & MIRROR
A most unusual antique. Circa 1840's, Empire period flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany man's petite dresser. Lifting up and back of the top exposes a gray veined white marble surround, the underside of lid with the original very wavy mirror. The case holds four drawers with butterflied flame mahogany veneer fronts, the drawer interiors in oak. The case is on casters. The dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 28" wide by 16" deep. Very good plus condition: damage is a horizontal crack to board and veneer across the top board of the lid. Both veneered sides have vertical shrinkage cracks. Includes all the locks and the key. The marble slabs are without chips, or stains. The right side marble piece has been broken in two and cemented back. The mirror is fine. The original finish has aged to almost an ebony color.

It is in great structual condition. All 3 drawers work well. It has no missing parts breaks or cracks. All drawers have there wood bottoms. It is very clean. It appears to have been refinished many years ago. The drawers are thick veneer over a solid secondary wood. The bottom drawer does have some cracking in the veneer but has been sealed when it was refinished. Also the bottom drawer has a small veneer chip and 2 places were the veneer has been patched with walnut veneer patches which just adds character to the chest. All the drawers have there locks but I do not have a key. The top of the chest is Walnut. The outside frame of the cabinet appears to be Chestnut. The sides ... moreare paneled Heart Pine. An antique Chest of Drawers made from Flame Mahogany. Circa 1900. We are pleased to present this unusual circa 1900 American Chest of Drawers for your consideration. Made of gorgeous Flame Mahogany. The chest has one full width drawer at the top. Two half-width drawers on the left are paired with a large compartment on the right, possibly originally intended for a chamber pot. The drawer pulls appear to be replacements, although the pull for the compartment, plus lock and escutcheon appear to be original. The Chest of Drawers measures 30 inches high. 40-3/4 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. There is a piece of thick glass that has been added, covering the top of the Chest. Wheels have been added to the feet, making the Chest a bit easier to move around. Dovetail joints are found on the Drawers. Offered for sale is this 19th century dresser top mirror frame- sorry no mirror. Based on the wood patina and the square nails or cut nails using. I would guess this is a 19th piece. The frame's 4 ornate carved corners look like to make of Gesso or other stuff. The frame looks like nothing missing except mirror. The wood didn't change the shapes for over 100 years, but it do need some restoration for the loosing joints, just a few nails/screws and some glue will do. And the previous owner seems to try to repaint it but he hasn't finish the job, It probably needs some time to clean the old finish and repaint it. The wood is good but I don't know what kind of wood. Where I bought this frame and I also bought an 3 old wood carving pieces. I have no idea that they go with the frame or don't belong to the frame. It fits the ... moremirror frame on top fine but don't see any old mounting holes for these pieces to mount. The mirror frame measures 47"H x 23"W(The base is 26"W) x 4-3/4" base depth. Here comes an eye candy! You are considering a beautiful large DEMILUNE 19th Century French Bronze Mounted and Inlaid Large Marble Top Commode. Inlaid over the entire front. Center inlay is spread over two drawers, depicts a classical Louis XV XVI bouquet of flowers tied with a ribbon in a big bow. Over the top is a large sienna multi-specimen marble. Piece has 3 drawers running down the center, on ends are two vertical doors with storage room and above them are smaller drawers, that are hinged on the outside and they swing open(see photo) The 3 center drawers and 2 doors are fitted with original antique locks. The two center drawers feature loop handles. Gorgeous quality bronze mounts cover the corners. And all four legs are finished off with dore bronze ... moresaboe mounts. Antique Solid Mahogany Empire Dresser & Mirror
U p for auction is this magnificent Empire Style Solid Mahogany Man’s Chiffonier from around the 1830’s. The dresser was re-finished many years ago but the mirror was never re-finished. The drawers are dove-tailed and very thick. This does not have veneer. It is solid beautiful wood. It stands about 72’ tall and approx. 40” wide and is on the original castors. Here is a marvelous antique mahogany twist column chest of drawers or large dresser with gorgeous flame mahogany veneers. Carved wooden knobs with mother of pearl inlay, lovely turned columns and legs, solid wood construction and overall wonderful condition for a mid-late 19th century piece. This chest was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland and was manufactured in either Victorian England or Scotland. This is a large piece which stands 58 inches tall and measures 40 inches wide by 23 inches deep. Front to back. This piece was designed to break down for safe transport and will travel in four pieces- the two twist columns, the footed base which stands 13 inches tall and measures 40 inches wide and 23 inches front to back.
