Up for auction is an awesome set of(4) very large 19th century fixed antique cast iron casters. These are extremely heavy duty and weigh just under 11lbs each! The wheels measure approx. 5 3/4" and stand approx. 8" tall overall. The base measures approx. 5" x 4 3/4" with drilled mounting holes that measure 3 5/8" and 4" center to center. The wheels move freely and are covered in surface rust. I have left them exactly as found not knowing if someone wants the aged patina. They need a good cleaning and grease. The only defect I can find is a small chip in one of the wheels.see the photo) I'm not sure if it's an old chip or defect in the casting. This is a beautiful example of the industrial carts made in the first decade or two of the twentieth century. I have added a salvaged wood top in my professional woodworking shop. Exact age unknown but I believe it is between the 1920's and 1940's.please read the email I received below) Although everything I say about the Sterling Hill Mine is very accurate, it appears this cart was originally sold for any heavy use. It consists of approx 40 wood strips turned on edge and glued together-to produce a true cutting board surface. The overall dimensions are 25 x 33 x 2 inches. It's finish is oil. Fronts measure 10in and rears are almost 12. Kinda hate to sell this as its a great piece but just don't have a use for it or room at the moment. Great piece to use or could be repurposed into a table ETC. Local pickup only due to the size. If you want to look into truck freight we can do that but don't expect any bargains. A set of 4 cast iron wheels with axles and square nuts. The parts were removed from a vintage platform scale. The wheels are 5 inches in diameter and the face of the wheel is 15/16 of an inch. The hole for the shaft is apr. 5/8 of an inch. The axle has a round mounting hole on one end and a slotted hole on the other end. see close up) The axle has on overall length of apr. 20 inches. could be cut apart and welded to make it shorter or longer) There is some casting flaws which do not affect anything. see close up) The parts were given a basic cleaning to look for any damage. Up for sale is this vintage industrial factory cart cast iron wheel hardware set. The center wheels measure 12" in diameter by 2" wide. The casters measure 7 3/4" from top to bottom and the wheels measure 6" in diameter by 2 1/2" wide. The mounting plate measures 6 3/4" by 5" This set has been painted rustoleum blue but it could easily be painted to another color if desired. The wheels are in good condition, solid and functional. The one center wheel does have a crack that was repaired a some point in it's history as pictured but it does not effect the stability of the wheel. For sale is a pair of vintage antique"Thomas Truck and Caster Company Keokuk Iowa" The caster is 8" and the width of the wheel with the rubber on is 10" These wheels can be used either way. The rubber will slide right off leaving you a great 8" all cast iron wheel or left as is giving you a great 10" wheel. The bearings where broken so I discarded them. The axle opening is 1 7/8" and the axle through and through ... moreis 2 1/4" The lettering on the spoke is raised with the companies name. This company was in business from 1937 until 1965 based on my research. I have attached a picture of the original factory with the ghost image of the companies advertisement still showing.

A set of 2 cast iron wheels that were removed from a vintage two wheel cart. The wheels are 6 inches in diameter and the face of the wheel is 1 1/8 inch wide. The axle hole is apr. 5/8 inch in diameter. There is a nasty chip/ chunk missing by one of the axle holes which is shown in a close up. There is also some casting flaws that are shown which have with stood the test of time. The pair of wheels weigh apr. 5 1/2 lbs. before packaging. Will need further cleaning. Surface rust. Vintage industrial USA factory steel frame basket cart cast BASSIK #9 wheels
Here for your bidding consideration is this original vintage steel push/roller bar cart/basket painted in old green paint and having for cast iron roller wheels marked"Bassit#9 USA" the large wheels roll forward and back while the front small wheels fully rotate and directional turn. The cart is from a local factory here in Maine used to carry wooden woolen mill spools. It measures 23"x19 1/4x22" and is the perfect side or coffee table size for an apartment. Used for books, linens, magazines, yarns, blanket storage, dark room equipement, prints and of corse laundry and so forth. I haven't fully cleaned it only lightly wiped it down for the photo's and from all I can see it's vey solid and free of damage, other than normal aged usage ware it's in great shape ready to use.
