Vintage barber/salon chair- not sure of exact age. But in pretty good condition. Has a couple of small tears in the upholsterly on the back and seat as seen in pictures 5 and 6. Back does recline back, but up/down foot pedal needs some work- am working on this, will update my progress. Bottom/metal pieces were originally chrome. Have been painted black. Hi. Here we have a very cool old barber chair. I have no idea of the vintage. 40s? 50s? As you can see. It's totally original with the original upholstery, and includes the headrest and foot rest. Everything works fine on the chair, with the exception of one missing bolt(pictured) that holds the armrest down. Some minor corrosion on the edges of the base, and a tiny bit of pitting on the chrome. Material is in great shape with no nicks or tears. SHIPPING: Ideally. You will want to pick this up in Akron Ohio, but it can be shipped via truck freight. I would guess it weighs 300-400 lbs, but I can band it to a pallet and load it onto a truck no problem. Antique Vintage Comfortable Old Adjustable Reclining Barber Dentist Dental Chair
Antique Vintage Copper-Plated Barber Dentist Man-Cave Adjustable Reclining Chair This is truly a one of a kind piece! About 20 years ago this piece was purchased at an antique store and the owner restored it by having it cooper plated and reupholstered with a cool looking copper colored velvet or velour fabric. Very different indeed. During the restoration. The hydraulics were removed from the chair so there would be no chance of any oil leaking from anywhere at any time. This ensured the chair would be leak-proof and would never have any oil leaking on his carpet and he wouldn’t end up in the dog house. He also had the turning mechanism stopped so his grandchildren would not get their fingers pinched in the spinning of the chair. These features can be restored by the new owner if he or she chooses at some time in the future, but for now ... morethe chair does not raise and lower nor will it spin. The back of the chair as well as the headrest are fully adjustable. The back reclining angle is controlled by a ratchet type mechanism very much like the old style lawn chairs. You lift the brace, select the angle you want to be in and put the brace back in the lock and voila, gravity and pressure does the rest. The neck/headrest can be adjusted up and down as well as forward and back by the use of two oversized wingnut type fasteners. Just adjust the angle and height of the headrest to your perfect relaxing fit and presto, instant comfy chair for a nap or to watch the game in. Vintage Belmont barber's chair. Would also be neat for a tattoo artist or hair stylist. In excellent condition for the most part. There are two notable flaws on the back of the backrest. One kind of large in the upper-right corner, and one small a bit to the right of the Belmont nameplate. There's also a dent on the base(visible in the pictures) I'm not sure if that could maybe be worked out somewhat or not. Unfortunately, it's missing it's headrest. For many decades that company sold chairs to the more than 100.000 barbershops across the U.S. until the late 1950s, when a Japanese company broke its stranglehold on the market. The frame is porcelain covered and nickel plated. The upholstery is red naugahyde and this barber chair is in really good condition. A pneumatic pump allows the chair to be raised or lowered easily to just the right height; and the head rest raises& lowers as well. This chair tilts back. Vintage 1930's era Berninghaus Hercules Barber Chair - Good Restorable Condition
Vintage 1930's or 1940's era Berninghaus Hercules Barber Chair Decent to Good Condition Use as is or Restore! While not perfect this chair is in decent mechanical condition. It needs a little oil but after working it a little it raised me to near the top of its stroke and held me for at least 5 minutes(I had to get up and finish photographing the chair! This chair has potential! It would be ideal for a barber shop or a tattoo shop or even for the corner of your pool room or Man cave- Woman Cave too! Don't think of it as worn. think of it as Shabby– Sheik! The hydraulics are all there and currently work. That being said I can't guaranty how long they will work. I saw no leaks but again I don't know the machine very well. The only metal repair that I saw was on one of the foot rest brackets. It's not very noticeable ... morebut it's there! The brightwork needs to be cleaned up. Some will clean up and some will need to be nickle plated- This looks like it's nickle plated which was one of the methods of making metal shine before chrome. The headrest works properly and it appears to be in good mechanical condition. I don't have an exact build date but from the details my belief is this is a 1930's or 1940's era chair. Use your own judgement on its age! If someone can tell me how to date it I could use the help! Look at the photos- they tell the tale! Paidar Co. vintage barber chair. manufactered sept 9. 1920. item is in excellent condition for it's age. hydraulics appear to work but are sluggish, may need oil or adjustment. leather is still very supple and does not have any major tears or rips, just slight wear from use. porclain is in great shape. metal parts show some wear but have excellent patina. no visible model number, however tag on bottom of chair says FAC4703. please ask any questions you have before bidding, item is sold as is. this item is a local pick up only, interested buyers can arrange shipment at their cost.
