It measures 11.1/ 8 l ong. 5.3/4" wide and 2.7/8" tall. It has 4 different sized holes numbered 18. 20, 22 and 24. It looks like it may have started of as a brassy color but then was painted blac k. Up for auction is a very primitive egg scale. This was made by the Reliable Mfg. Co. In Los Angeles, Calif. It measures 12" long by 3" wide. On the underside, is the directions on how to use the scale. I do not know if there is anything missing, but from other pictures I've seen, it appears to be in all together. Big Dutchman All Aluminum Egg Shaped Scale Weights & Wood Box Canada
This auction is for a box set of 8 all aluminum weights. I was told these are for checking scales. They are all marked"Big Dutchman" on one end and"made in Canada" on the other end. See pictures. These are marked 18,19,20,21,23,24,27& 30. I do not know if that means grams or what? They all have a screw in one end that you can unscrew and take the"egg" apart but for what purpose I do not know? These eggs are about 2" tall and 1 1/2" wide. Case is made of wood and is in very good shape with a clasp on the front and hinges in the back. Eggs sit in a hollowed out hole in the case. I have been told that these are used to calibrate egg scales.

This is a egg grader scale I found on a 150+year old homestead that belongs to a good friend of mine.I have a lot of really cool stuff from this ranch in my personal collection and I'm selling it all now.A little at a time so keep an eye on my other items too!I was told by another member the scale was sold by Oakes Mfg. in the 40's,probably the war years 1943-1945.The scale still works fine but I haven't checked the accuracy! Antique Egg Grading Scale -Jiffy-Way by Cyclone Mfg. Urbana, Indiana -1940-1950
This colorful egg scale. Manufactured by the Cyclone Mfg. Co. between 1940 and 1950, graded the size of eggs for retail sales. For use by poultry farmers and small country stores, the grading was done by hand on a red-painted metal scale that designated small, medium, large and extra-large eggs. The charming scale was made by Cyclone in Urbana. Indiana, but the trademark was registered by Jiffy-Way Products of Mineapolis, Minn. The graphics on the base of the scale, which measures 8 inches long, 5&1/2 inches high and 3 inches wide, features the"Cyclone" logo flanked by two tiny, yellow chicks. This antique scale is in fair condition. Still colorful. Egg Scale, civil war ornate, early Meriden B Company silver plate
Up for auction is my Aunt's antique ornate silver plated egg scale made by the Meriden B Company(see early Meriden hallmark stamp in pic) Notice the wear in the center of the weighing pad. Lots of eggs were placed on it over the decades. Every henge and screw is in working order along with the balancing large strew. A fully functional scale. The Meriden B Company was formed in 1852. The B stands for Britannia. This was a silver and silver plating company and many smaller silver makers eventually came together and formed the International Silver Co. in 1898. Black silver as it was called back then. And much of it has warn off especially around the numbered scale on this piece, exposing the base metal not rust. See pictures. German made FABIAN Egg scale/ scales/ grader. This is a not often found German made Egg scale named Fabian. The egg scale is graduated in grams and goes up from 30 to 80 grams or the classes: klein(small) D, C, B, A and S. The graduation weight rom 50 gram is still with it. Last calibration date is 1967.
