I researched everything I could find on this old Remington Portable, ... moreand as best I can tell, by the serial number(NM41249) this is a 1924 Portable#2, and these originally sold for $60. They were made in Ilion, NY, by the same family that developed many rifles. They were very popular in offices, with reporters and teachers, and with writers of all kinds. The case is very handy, with a wooden case covered by imitation leather. The case measures 11" x 12" x 4" and the unit weighs only 10 pounds 14 ounces. When Remington came out with this they really outsold Royal and the other competitors, because this small unit was cutting edge. I've typed on this machine, and it works great. The ribbon seems to still have life in it. Use the lever on the right side to bring the strikers into the"up" position, otherwise it all lays flat for fitting into the case. It is all metal, It works, but sometimes the keys stick a little and you have to put them back down, probably needs oiled/cleaned. Very good condition, not rusted, has all the keys, it has been well kept. Measures about 20" x 15" x 12" and weighs over 35 pounds! The number 7 key has some damage, look at the picture please, could use some cleaning. Comes with a case but case is pretty rough, I’m sure it could be reconditioned. Please note. I do not know much about this typewriter. Does not have serial numbers. I tested it for typing and it seems to work good, I am not sure of all the functions it does. It does need a new ribbon. I believe from what I found on the internet, this was made between 1928 to 1932.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON ONE USED ANTIQUE/ VINTAGE REMINGTON PORTABLE TYPEWRITER WITH COLLAPSABLE KEYS CASE. KEYS ARE LIGHT YELLOW IN COLOR. WE HAVE ONLY TRIED TO DO MINOR CLEANING. FROM RESEARCH ON THE WEB IT INDICATES THIS IS THE#1 OR#2 SERIES AND IS TYPE 2 OF THAT SERIES DUE TO THE FACT IT HAS EXTRA SHIFT KEY ON THE RIGHT SIDE. IT IS SERIAL NUMBER" NZ51813" All Remington typewriters made from August 1914 through August 1928. Use a 2-letter, 5-numeral code. This is a vintage 1924 Remington portable typewriter with case. The handle on the case is missing. But a new one can be attached to the clips. It is in WONDERFUL CONDITION for its age. Everything works great. But it needs a new ribbon(the ribbon is pretty worn out) The case has some wear, but is in overall good condition. It could use a cleaning inside. The serial number is inside the back portion of the carriage. It is#NV 48877. This stands for the year"1924" and the letter"V" stands for the month of July. Which is when it was manufactured. The"8877" is the sequence number of the machine. This means that this machine is the 8,877th one that was manufactured that month. I researched this information from the Remington site. I found out that this typewriter is from the late 1920's. These keys were in terrible condition. but I took on a challenge and took my time to clean them all. I wish I had taken pictures so you could see the transformation. These keys had dust and dirt on them and like a film of oil on them. Oh. And of course the grand red paint on the keys, that was fun cleaning, but I did and now they are looking very good. I took eight pictures of the keys but I can't upload them. Antique Remington Noiseless Typewriter in working condition. I believe this is a Standard 10. Serial# is X371109. It is in remarkable condition. Almost like it was used very little. Very few scratches has been kept covered. Scratches are only on the very front of the key area. Please look at pictures. Some of the keys will stick and have to be pushed back down. Probably needs oiled and cleaned. Bell rings Tabulator works. Shift Keys, Paper return. Everything seems to work extremely well. One plastic knob on the left hand side that turns the paper into the machine is broken. And would need replaced. You can see it in the pictures. There is ribbon in it but has long lost it's ink. Antique Remington Standard Typewriter No.6. Probably from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Serial number is 78526. I know nothing about old typewriters but this one is pretty different. It has a barrel design where the keys swing up from a circular contraption. All the keys work, but the scroll doesnt advance without a slight nudge on the side, it tries to move but probably just needs to be cleaned and oiled. I will leave that to the new owner. it looks to be all original but like I said in need of a cleaning.

This is a very nice Rem ington Stream line Portable Model 5 typewriter. It is in its original case and functions prope rly. It is an early model and has the glass keys. Including the three red keys. One of the locks on the front has a partially missing button slider on the opening mechanism but it still wor ks fine. Case is i n decent sha pe. T he typewriter is need of cleaning. Antique Remington 12 Working Typewriter Standard Black with Soft Cover

Please scroll to the bottom of the pictures and read the terms under our last picture. A friend of mine was one of the contractors who renovated the old court house in Bel Air.Md. in the late 70's. This court house is where the H Rap Brown trial was held so it may be that this typewriter was used to type the documents for that trial. This is the reason why he kept it. He is not a collector but has held on to this typewriter all this time due to the possible history. Now downsizing, he has sold this typewriter to us. It does work. I tried every key as you can see from the sample I photographed and they all work however there are 2 or 3 that are sticky as to be expected. Everything ... moreelse works too from what I can tell however I am no expert. After cleaning and replacing the ribbon it should work as it did when it was new. I did not polish this typewriter and you are viewing it exactly as I bought it. The paint has some scuffs in the front where the Remington and the 12 are located as well as a good size area of missing paint on the flap on the back that has the Remington name on it. There are some silver spots on the red keys. There is some rust on the chrome but it is light enough that it will clean off with some fine steel wool. It comes with the soft cover which has holes and a rip on the one side. Not great condition but I couldn't see throwing it away since they have been together since new. In good working condition. some paint scraped off side of typewriter. Is clean, but could use a good cleaning of dust from the inside. Case hinge(cover comes completely off is in good condition. Case handle is broken- replaced with string. Case has an old Cunard White Star(cruise line) luggage label on. The picture shows the typing. Black Red and the bottom line you can set so it types half red- half black. Rare Remington Standard #2 Typewriter 1878
The first production year of this typewriter was 1878. The serial# is 52.016. Everything is still working on this machine and all the keys function correctly. There is one problem that will need to be addressed. The upper and lower cap shift keys are missing and their wood key levers have broken off at the keyboard, all other wood key levers are fine. So the machine will need two cap keys and the two wood key levers repaired to make it complete. Lastly, after I had already agreed to buy the machine from the previous owner, he mentioned that this typewriter was once used by Ernie Pyle the WW2 news journalist, I'll just pass on this info. Up for bid is an antique vintage Remington typewriter from around 1928 and was always a part of the family home. The serial number is"BM80818" and it reads in gold lettering on the front: Made at Ilion. New York, U.S.A. With it is a first edition 1923 Gregg Typewriter book used in its day for learning the art of typing. There also is included a typewriter cover which dates back to the 60's. The Remington unit is in excellent condition. Recently checked by reputable repairman and fitted with a new black/red typewriter ribbon. As you can see the finish is very good with a few paint knicks and scrapes and the carriage rolls perfect and true with no abnormalties. The bakelite roller knobs are perfect as well as the roller and the feet are adjustable and not cracked in any way. The body is not dented or rusted and could easily be ... morea candidate for the Smithsonian. A sample type is shown in the next to last picture. The New Rational Typewriting book 1923 by Rupert P. Sorelle is included and features a binding patented on August 29. 1923. This must pertain to the first of its kind stand up(eisel effect) to read while typing at the same time. There are two missing pages, Page 1/144, 42/103) and two half torn pages(Page 20/125, 30/115) However one can see the illustrated parts of all the typewriters of that time and see the lessons or drills used to master the art of typing. Utmost care well be used in packing this antique and a three($3.00) dollar handling charge is included in the shipping for package material and protection. Antique Vtg Remington Standard Portable Typewriter w/ Case Estate Sale
Really great antique. 1920s Remington Portable Typewriter with original travel case, in very good antique condition. Keys work, carriage pops up as it is supposed to, missing the turn wheel on the end of the paper cylinder, but the cylinder still turns. Don't know much about typewriters, so cannot be sure if there are any other missing pieces, so please view the close ups of the photos, ribbon will need to be replaced, and are still available, sold as is. Remington logo and mark still visible on the left-hand front corner of the unit. A great collectible antique piece, from one of the best makers!

This is a Vintage Remington Rand J2373338 typewriter in fairly good shape. It needs servicing and/or repairs due to the age of the machine. This is made in USA and the keys are sticking probably due to oiling and servicing. The cosmetic of the machine has some wears. The typewriter paper release is missing a screw please look at the pictures to see a better view of the typewriter. This does not come with a case I have it in a plastic cover. The ribbon also needs to replaced it is dried out due to age. This typewriter once its serviced and cleaned up will be a nice collectors piece. This was the first"laptop" or portable typewriter. This typewriter is in terrific condition. It is very clean. No wear on the keys, and none of the keys stick. I turned it upside down and there was just some dust from sitting in the case, but otherwise extremely clean and looks like it was not heavily used. It could probably use a new ribbon, though, it is a little light, or the ink has faded with time. I did just notice that the"N" in Remington ... moreis missing and probably had broken off long ago. But what is unique about this typewriter is that it looks like it prints in italics. While I am not quite old enough to have used manual typewriters like this in high school(although I came across a vintage typewriter that looked like a manual but was electric. And actually used it to write research papers in college! I never knew there were manual typewriters that actually printed in italic. I have no idea how uncommon this is. You can see my test printing- sorry, I printed one row of keys over another in the uppercase section, it's not a problem with the keys. The case is in fine. Sturdy condition, with just some typical wear, and a slight line of white on the top edge, which could be paint. There is a small tear on the inside edge, probably from rubbing against the typewriter when the case was opened and closed. It could surely be glued or taped. The closure works fine. It looks like there is also a locking mechanism, but I do not have a key for it. It does not come with instructions or any other paperwork. There is a piece of some kind of thick paper, peach colored, that was in the case. I don't know if this is

Extrem. Rare Red Remington Blohm & Co. Portable Typewriter working
Up for bid is a never before listed. Used, antique, working, extremely rare red American made Remington Portable Typewriter, circa 1930s, made for Blohm& Co. I believe Blohm& Co. was a South American or Spanish firm, since the the legend says"Blohm& Co. Agentes Exclusivos" The machine also has the Pound Sterling key, and a key for"Bs" whatever that means. Blohm& Co. may have been a subsidiary of Blohm& Voss, the famous German ship and aircraft building firm. As far as I can tell, everything works on this typewriter, and you can see that I typed"It Works! and today's listing date. I also pressed every key. It comes with the black case with"Remington" imprinted thereon. This is an unbelievable cool functional piece and could be used in the movies. There is some red paint scuffed off, ... moreand some slight retouching in places which should show in the pictures.
