The Face is in very good condition with all numbers legible and the Hopper is in good condition but does have some chipping of the paint and sllight rust starting in places(see photos) It is painted a nice banana yellow color. For your consideration is a hanging scale. I was our county superintendent for the rabbit show for 18 + years and I used this scale to weigh animals. It has weighed everything from rabbits to young children. The scale is made of metal by Hanson. On the face of the scale it reads Hanson Dairy Scale. Model 600, Shubuta, Mississippi, Made in USA. The scales measurers by decimal graduations by tenths up to 60 pounds. The scale itself measures from hanger to hanger 17 1/2" tall by 8 1/2" wide by 1 3/4" tall and is in good condition. Scale has two arms for weighing. Some rust around edges. The basket has three chains that help hang while weighing. Basket measurers ... more18" long by 12 1/2" wide by 6" tall. Chains have some rust. Still usable but rust from being out in weather during shows and from storage. Hanging from top to bottom the scale measurers around 36" tall. Up for auction we have a nice brass hanging market scale by the New York Scale Company. The dial is 10" in diameter and the base is 13" in diameter. Assembled the scale is about 27.5" in height. The scale could use some more cleaning as I did polish it up some. Their are some small dents in the brass scale face but the glass is perfect and the scale works fine. The base has a dent in the brass frame which should be an easy fix and the enamel has some chips on the edge. See pictures. Once again the base coul d use some polishing. It registers 10 pounds, but has a maximum capacity of 30 pounds. When the bin is removed, this scale will zero out, but will not quite with the bin attached. It appears to be in good working condition. There are some small spots on the interior of the glass, and there is a slight amount of corrosion to the chain, and the bin, but overall this scale is in good condition. Not very often do you find the original tray with these old Chatillon scales. The scale measures about 8 1/4" across and is dated Aug 11th 1914. In the center of the scale at the cross it reads: Capacity 20 lbs. Des Pat No. 46245 Aug 11th 1914 Approved Type Serial 33H Trade Mark New York City Between the numbers at the bottom of the scale and the#10 it reads: Mfgd. by John Chatillon& Sons New York USA Please use the eBay magnifier to see the details of this scale that are important to you. The scale shows wear as expected but cleaned up great and displays great. All we did was wash off the dirt. See the before and after photos we have posted. Not waxed or buffed or polished or touched up. The scale does work. Responding to added weight as it should. Not too stiff or seized at all. Could use a shot of oil but we are not sure how to calibrate the scale, so we will leave it to the experts. The backside of the scale shows some flaking to the black paint but no dents or cracks. The original round porcelain tray measures 11" across. It has a very acceptable level of rim chips as shown but is in very good condition for it's age with limited wear to the main

Vintage Chatillon Hanging Scale Type 4700 20 LB Produce
Neat old scale. It's missing the glass on one face and it seems to be out of adjustment or something. The needles move slightly when bottom of scale is pulled on. However, not as much as they should for the weight applied. Other thn the missing glass on the one side the scale appears to be complete. It's in nice cosmetic shape. Antique American Family Hanging Scale This is a very nice antique hanging s cale that was made by The American Family Scale Company of Chicago and has ha s a patent date of October 29. 1912. These were used to weigh anything from produce to hardware in general stores years ago. It has been refinishe d in a nice yellow brushed finish giving it a nice vintage/antique look. There are some minor scratches that add to the character of the p iece. The scale itself is adjustable and was accura te. I used a rope and hung a 5 p ound weight while I held i t up. It goes up to 60 pounds in 2 ounce increments and the face of the scale is in great shape with no missing numbers. What makes this one unique from the others I have seen on the internet is this one has a porcelain over metal tray. The scale is completely functional and accurate and measures approximately 10 1/2" high and 7" wide(not including the ring at the top for hanging and the hook at the bottom for the tray) The porcelain over metal tray measures 15 1/4" x 13 1/2" There is some chips out of the porcelain as can be seen in the photos. But overall the scale is in pretty good condition.

Vintage HANSON Hanging Produce Feed Grain Scale John Deere Farmers Market
100% working and accurate! This was kinda rough when I first acquired it so I figured it was a good candidate for restoration. This was completely disassembled and cleaned and then painted. The face and the dial( as well as the chains) have been untouched; leaving entirely original. All other pieces have been painted with authentic John Deere factory colors( as seen in last two pictures) After restoration I actually"re-aged" this; making it not to look brand new. Rather to retain the original character and look as if it was actually restored 50 years ago. The wear is in all the right spots it should be from use. With 20 pound capacity,+1/2 oz. The red finish is in excellent shape except for some surface rust on the edge and it has the original galvanized basket and three chains. It came from California. It had last been used and still has the state inspection sticker in 1954. there is some rust on the outer edge of the scale. It will be hard to find a scale of this age in any better shape.
