Antique Wooden Paco Hat Stretcher-Early 1900's
Here is a rare find! It is a antique wooden hat block/ strecher from the early 1900's. Marked"6 3/4" on one end. And"PACO" on the other end. The turnbuckle is made of wood also with wood threads. It measures 2.50" thick and 7" long and 6" wide. Opens up to 8 1/4" Operates smoothly and stretches to size 7 5/8" In great condition. Please look closely at all pictures.Item is sold as is.

Antique Vintage Wood Hat Stretcher Great Patina Size 6 5/8 Millinery
I do not know for sure how old this hat stretcher is. Wonderful old primitive HOWEVER I just noticed that the threads are only good on one side of the screw mechanism. It does still screw open but only to 8 inches. So you could still use this but it is more of a decorative item.Varnish to outside is worn showing it was a working item and imagine a lot of hats were once on this old piece. The turn piece on the inside has a rubber grip ring that has some surface cracks from age. Item opens well but needs a little help to close all the way. Does come back together tightly. Size 6 5/8. No factory name or mark.just the size. When closed it measures 6 3/4 X 6 inches. Please ask questions before bidding. Photos are part of description. Antique Vtg RARE GARVE Electric Hat Stretcher Org Cond & Paint 1926 Instructions
This auction is for a working Garve Electric Hat Stretcher with the rare paper guarantee and instructions right on the bottom. It not only gave you a one year warranty(no longer applicable) It gives you instructions for replacement of the heating units(Please enlarge the attached close up picture I have provided) With these instructions, the unit can be taken apart for other repairs as well. I have seen a lot of hat stretchers out there; however, none with this paper still in place. It has an electric cloth covered cord with a bakelite Leviton switch plug so you can turn it on and off easily. The machine measures 14" long, 12" high and 6 3/4" deep. It works great and will stretch hats from a size 6 1/4 or 19.5" 49.53 cm) to a size 8 or 26" 66.04 cm) It uses a regular 110 voltage with an American plug. It has its original ... moregreen paint on the base of the machine which is mounted to a thick board with the metal size plate and the size pointer. The aluminum top has a heavy steel handle and stretch spring on the side. Flaws: Works great! A tad bit of the green paint has worn away in places. There is a 1 1/2" X 1 1/4" dent in the aluminum top back(could be straightened since it comes apart with one nut and 2 flat tip screws) There is some inside surface rust on the inside under the aluminum which you can see in the third picture. This does not interfere with the operation of the machine, but is mentioned for accuracy. There are old chips at each corner of the wood base and the plug cord has lightened in color in some places. There is some overall wear commensurate to its age and usage. This item is very heavy and cannot be combined with other items. It weighs 17 pounds 2 ounces(7.82 kgs) packaged. PENDG. The stretcher is adjusted by a screw and wing nut that allows for loosening and tightening the brass scissors. The screw that was originally on the brass scissors was so corroded and rusted that it would not loosen or tighten, so with that the screw has been replaced but still has the original wing nut. I'm sure at some point if this is going to be used to stretch hats, it will more than likely need to have the wing nut replaced. If won, I will include the original screw in the package. This antique hat stretcher is in what I would say great condition for its age. It shows normal signs of age and wear such as patina, and some stress cracks on the brass scissor handles(not through and through cracks) This antique stretcher is being SOLD AS-IS. Made from what i think is Mahogany, as it is very similar to other hat stretchers, extremely dense, heavy solid wood, not hollow at all. The screw handle turns to shrink or extend the hat stretcher itself, and the size chart is still present. A lovely antique. Retaining its functionality. Beaustiful Wood Antique hat stretcher w/ 2 brass measuring rules NICE SHAPE
This auction is for a nice vintage wooded hat stretcher. It has a nice metal turn handle in the center and a steel lead screw. There are 2 solid brass measuring rules in the middle(see pics) There is a number“3” stamped on the wood. The wood is solid and in nice condition. Closed it measures about 7-3/16” x 6-3/16” x 2-3/16” It weighs just over 1lb 8 oz. This is a fully functional piece and can be used or displayed.

Early 1900's european cast iron mechanical antique hat stretcher
A wonderful original very heavy antique cast iron and steel mechanical hat stretcher. Left as it was found in an old department store in Belgium. I can't find any makers name but I suppose it is of European origin. The silver finish has worn in places as you can see in the pictures. The metal frame on which the hat mold slides along is rusty. still 100% sturdy) Of course it will look great restored but it also has lots of charm as it is. This kind of stretcher was pre heated with a small blowtorch or steam.Later on they were electrically heated. It weighs around 8 kilos. The body of hat stretcher is constructed from some dense dark wood(possibly walnut) The metal handle and the spindle appear to be crafted from cast iron. This piece was manufactured during the early part of the 20th century and is made of wood with a metal adjusting handle in the center. This piece measures approximately 6 3/4" across at the bottom when closed and 8 1/4" across when the metal adjusting handle is extended all the way out. Vintage Wood Hat Stretcher Block w/Handle Extender- ADJUSTABLE Antique Tool
For sale is an antique or vintage wooden hat stretcher. I don't know how to measure these for the hat size. But I can tell you that when fully closed the piece measures 7.25" by 6.25" When fully extended it measures 8.5" by 6.25" It would actually expand a little bit further as far as the wood center screws go, but that is the limit of the metal alignment posts on each side- any further and they come out of the hole on the other half of the stretcher. The wood of the center screw is shiney as if the stretcher was used often. Seems to be oak. 1lb 3.6oz. The piece is 2.5" thick(or tall) at each of the ends and slopes down to 2" thick in the center(where it separates)

Wonderful antique English hat stretcher made of wood with adjustable metal grips on the ends. The stretcher when screwed tight is approximately 6 3/4" in length and when unscrewed just about to the point of separating it is approximately 8 1/2" in length. One end piece is stationary and the other freely spins so that the end pieces will stay in place when turning the center piece to enlarge the hat's width. The center section is turned wood. There appears to be something wrapped around the thicker part, maybe old tape or something like that, lends a bit of interest to the piece. Measurements up to 7 5/8 marked on the brass guide pins. photo 5) Cast Iron Screw moves easily and as far as I know has not been lubricated. Stretcher measures 7 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches. Depth measures between 2 and 2 1/4 inches as it is deeper on the ends. Black paint on screw is chipped. Two chips on wood and some scratches. Otherwise in good working condition. VERY SCARCE* OLD ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1900 HAT MOLD OR STRETCHER WOOD AND IRON This offering is for an old antique vintage Hat Stretcher or Hat Mold. I'm not sure which term is more correct. Anyway, the stretcher is made of two sections of maple wood joined together with iron rod expanding joints on each side. The central handle is also made of wood, threaded to expand when turned one direction and to contract when turned in the opposite direction. When completely closed the stretcher measures app. 6 3/8" by 7 1/8" with a circumference of 20 7/8" When completely expanded the stretcher measures app. 6 3/8" by 8½" and having a circumference of app. 23 1/4" On one side of the stretcher are stamper the numbers 6 7/8 which relates to the stretcher on it's smallest size. The condition is quite nice and perfectly ... morefunctional. The only real flaws ares some surface chipping to the wood handle near the ends and a few very shallow surface cracks. Description Closes to 6-7/8 but will need a little firmer of a twist to get it all the way closed. I didn't oil it or attempt to force it. Opens to size 7-1/2. A 1/2" long crack next to one of the metal pieces on the side. Small"feet" were added later for surface protection- one of them is missing. Some surface rust on the threads but they should clean off fine. Note Actual color may differ from the photo due to lighting conditions. RARE ANTIQUE SOLID WOOD HAT STRETCHER FORM METAL SCREW WORKS PERFECTLY
This is an estate sale find and I have no background information on the piece. There are no identifying marks on it but I do know from my research that it's rare and possibly as old as the late 19th century. I also don't know what sort of wood the stretcher is made of but it's a nice. Solid piece, very smooth with a beautiful reddish brown color and wonderful aged patina. It weighs almost 10 pounds. It's very skillfully made and still works perfectly and smoothly. The stretcher opens to approx 10" from the closed position which is approx 6" wide. The base is 10.25" long x 6.75" wide and 1" high. There are round holes in each corner where the stretcher was fastened to something else. The piece is approx 11" tall and 12" wide to the end of the screw. The screw is just a hair under 1" in ... morediameter. This is just a beautiful piece and in such nice condition I know you'll be very pleased with it. If not.
