Antique Meat Chopper, Green Paint, Gears turn, Industrial, Americana, Primitive
Here is a really cool meat chopper. The green painted base measures 12" L by 7" W and is 1 1/4" thick. If you include the handle. The total width is about 12 inches. I always loved this piece- it so so architectural with all of its gears and I love the green paint. The handle is wood and has nice aged patina. Regarding its condition: it seems to work, although I never tried to do any meat chopping with it. As you turn the handle, the gears pull the chopper up and push it down inside the bowl. As you can see in picture 7, there is a metal rod in the center of the bowl, and it is surrounded by a wooden holder. Over time part of this wood has worn down in several areas. That is, you can feel where some of the wood is now gone and it is no longer perfectly circular. Some of the green paint is also gone: along the edges, corners ... moreand on the top, pictured in 10 and 11. There are also some 1/4" square impressions on the board(see picture 10) I don't know what caused these as none of the gears touch this area, but I think it adds to the charm. At some point in its life, the gear arm which attaches to the side, must have pulled loose and caused a small crack in the wood as there is an old repair. The wood was secured with 2 tiny nails on the bottom. Please see pictures 6 and 12) This happened long before I owned it. We used to go antique shopping at a wonderful little shop in West Eden, Maine which is where I got this some 22 years ago. In fact, I still have the receipt! Here is 3 gears. They all it together. The large one is marked KZ 132, it's approx. 5 1/2" dia. the middle size is marked KZK 131 it's approx. 3" dia. the small one is approx. 1 1/4" dia. Cast Iron EARLY Dentist Chair! Adjustable Gears! Antique Steampunk industrial
Up for sale is this unbelievable very early dental chair. Probably from right around the turn of the century. The chair is incredibly heavy and solid. The adjustment gears still work and the seat can go from 90 deg to all the way back where your feet will be above your head. The metal has a beautiful patina with some paint. There is a base foot attachment that connects and has an SWS monogram. Everything is cast iron except of the two round knobs on the back, the floor board of the footrest, and the seats The uphosltry is in VERY rough condition. The leather seat is essentially wrecked and there is a hole in the back rest. The head rest leather is pretty good. The gears which control the height of the head rest are tight. they may loosen with some WD40. But I didn't want to change the chair at all. The floor board of the footrest is wood ... morecovered with some material. that material is pretty chewed up and definitely got wet at some point. The wood still looks good. The hydraulic lift makes noise and is free, but I can't seem to get the chair to go down to it's lowest height. There are two detachable arms, one is broken at the attachment point and to be fixed would need to be welded back together. This chair is gorgeous and very early. It's in rough condition. Thus the price, but simply replacing the leather would make the chair useable and a great addition to your home. This cannot be shipped. it probably weighs around 200-250 lbs. I'll drive up to an hour from 07456 to meet you or drop this off. Though if you live further, I may be willing to make the trip. Please contact me with any questions! This auction is for 2 old cast iron gears/cogs. Which I believe are John Deere tractor parts. These items are in great shape and ready to be put back in action again! Whether used as an art project, or to retool an old cart, or even repurposed, these items are just itching to be put to good use! I love the intricate patterns they have. The largest of these gears is 9 inches wide. 3 3/4's inches thick and has a 1 1/4's inch center. It has c-13248-c stamped into it.
