I cleaned the outside and cleaned the dial and glass, but will leave up to the new owner on how far they want to take apart and clean. the needle spins around when you pull down on the meat hook part, but does catch sometimes and the dial hands sometimes dont go back to 0. Again it needs a cleaning on the inside, to really bring it all the way back. A great to look at piece that will be a great decoration piece for your country or primitive decor. Watson, Division Chief, It is 11" across the scale and the weight that comes with it is 7" long and this is what you use to zero it out. This is a Chattillon New York U. S. A. Capacity 40lbs.x 1/4lb. It reads at the top, APPROVED TYPE 33 SERIAL H NEW YORK CITY" Also reads"Trade Mark" The scale reads at the bottom, Each 20 lb. is marked on the slide. The intermediate weights on the circle" Also reads WARRANTED NEW YORK. The scale still seems to be in good working condition with good tension on the spring. The dial moves freely but I don't think they move correctly. This item shows cosmetic wear including discoloration found, overall wear found to the faceplate, staining found, scratches found, surface rust found throughout. Rivets all ... moregood. Vintage J. Chatillon & Sons Counter Scale No. 3
This Vintage J. Chatillon& Sons No. 3 Scale is From A Resturant Auction. I don't know anything about it. It came out of the resturant and was used as a decoration. The scale has some paint loss/chips/rust/wear common for age. It's marked No. 3. The bottom of the base is marked 59. I'm assuming the scale is a Chatillon scale because that's what is marked on the weight bar. As can be seen in the pictures. One of the platform supports has a chip missing, which can be seen in the last picture. Scale measures 16" wide across weight platforms and 8" high and 8" wide. Look at the pictures and be the judge. Antique Chatillon NY Brass 10 Lb. Hand Held Tube Weight Fish Scale Working Order
Up for auction is a beautiful working antique Chatillon NY U.S.A. brass 10 pound weight hand held tube fish scale. The scale goes from 0 to 10 on the barrel and the arrow gauge shows the weight. Please check pictures. There is a round ring at the top and a hook on the bottom. Scale measures 4 3/8” long and total length is 6 3/4” long from top to bottom without any weight attached to the hook. The patina on this scale is wonderful. As as the decorative knurling on both the edges of the top and bottom rings of the scale. A great addition to add to your vintage scale collection. Pictures don't do it justice.
