This is the Porcelain Frame for the Backrest for the Theo A Koch Chair you see in the 8th picture. The Porcelain is in decent shape. There is some wear due to age. But no major cracks or bites out of it. The locking mechanism, complete with pin, for the headrest is still in place and in working order. There are those who say this is a 1910 model chair because the patent on the headrest is 1910. The metal nameplate on the back of the chair has patent dates as late as 1914. Antique Podiatrist's Chair(I am assuming from the label) The chair has an adjustable height(was told using some kind of oil hydraulics.not sure how it works. But it pumps up and down while you sit on it) It has an adjustable back and spins. Approximate space it will occupy: Width 37" x Length 45" Perhaps more as it spins) Approx. Height(When back is straight. Seat height in the lowest position) 45" Height is adjustable using the lever on the right of the chair(see pictures) Seat at lowest position: 24" Seat at highest position: 29-1/2" The back can be adjusted from 90 degrees to 180 degrees. Foot piece is also adjustable. There is a little table/metal piece on the left side of the chair. Condition: Used. But in good condition. A Rare and One Of A Kind- Belmont Barber Chair produced by the Takara Company#309707056(see photo#10) with very cool full white porcelain sides(sitting in it reminds me of driving in a 1960s white convertible Cadillac Eldorado Seville) even comes with the headrest w/rolled paper dispenser. Lever recline. The primary owner is now 81 years old. A third generation barber(now retired) who purchased this classic in the early 1960s and was well cared for. Original Takara Company Belmont metal tag and Takara Chukoshd Co. material label still in tact. Keep in mind that this barber chair is from the'60s so it does have age including some chrome pitting. Porcelain paint chips, minor rusting on ashtray arm edge, ripping on left side cushion chair seam, front foot rest and 1/4" tear on right arm seam. All pieces are authentic.
