The chest is in amazing condition, with very ... morelittle sign of wear at all. There is one small area on the top of the right glove box where the finish is a bit worn, but with a little oil, this should clean up nicely. The chest has the original finish and the mirror has the original glass intact. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. There is a small sticker remnant on the mirror frame as well. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that was originally contructed between 1900 and 1920. The chest has straight legs that taper slightly towards the bottom, with original casters.

The chest of drawers has a beautiful painted finish, with ... moregorgeous colors and some carved accent details. There are quite a few scuffs and light surface scratches and dings on the piece, and some small areas where the paint is chipping away. The paint has a nice crakling affect as well, which really adds to its vintage patina. I am unsure of its actual age, but it was manufactured by Peck & Hills Furniture Company. It has four drawers, all quite large, and a design that gives it a "chest on chest" appearance. The chest of drawers has a gorgeous fan motif pediment at the top of the back trim, and bracket feet at the bottom. The drawers have the original drop pull brass handles.

It had been leather covered ... morewhen new, because I can see the evidence of the leather in several places. Picture#11 shows the leather still remaining at the top edge of the chest. The dimensions are: Length- 19" Height- 14" Depth- 9" This is the wood box dimension, without adding for the hardware. The lock and latches are Eagle Lock Co. Terryville,CT. There is no key. The handle has to be the original leather covered one and the leather is not in good shape, but it certainly fits with the age of the chest. All of the latches, hinges and lock are complete and work fine, except for the missing key. For those of you who know more about this. I'm sure you can identify the brand from the drawer knobs and diamond shaped back plates on them. I'm sure it has been sanded and finished, probably at the time the leather was removed. Although the wood surface probably wasn't original, it looks like pine to me, and looks nice with the varnished surface. Please email me with any questions you might have. The chair shown is offered elsewhere in our collection Item# 110105PII25 This is a remarkably preserved English Chippendale Period Kneehole Desk. Circa 1740-50. It is crafted of well figured solid single boards of Mahogany on the top and sides- there is no veneer on this desk, just solid boards of full grain mahogany. A simply molded edge runs the perimeter of the top, each corner scalloped. Each drawer is hand dovetailed front and back, with thin oak frame construction and thin oak drawer bottoms- all drawers are fully original and lack any adjustments and restorations to the secondary construction. Glowing hand forged brass hardware adorns each drawer. Appearing to have never been removed from the piece. Inside each drawer, as well as the tiny door in the kneehole area, silver metal locks are secured and functional. Each lock appears to be original, each uniquely cut on the right hand corner for all small drawers- it would appear the craftsman was presented with the challenge of making the lock of his choice fit the small space in conjunction with the pull hardware, and overcame this but cutting the corners of each lock. Hand made screws are visible throughout the lock hardware. While we cannot say for certain if the key is original, it is of the period, hand made and very similar in metal color to that of the locks. Each drawer is lip-molded and slides flawlessly in and out of the desk. Just below the top drawer is a secret drawer compartment. Appearing to be part of the frame design, but actually pulls outward smoothly as an extra hand dovetailed drawer. This is a unique addition for the craftsman to make, as many of these knee hole desks are without such innovations. The wide top drawer pulls out to reveal a full dust shelf. This is an Antique. All original hardwood cottage dressers with 6 drawers and a storage area with door. The piece is hand painted in off whites and grayish colors with hand painted greens and orange floral prints. The piece is a true antique, held together with the dovetail method that was used during that time period, the 1800s to early 1900s area. The handles are antique black with white knobs that hangs down loosely. The colored paint and floral prints are still in very good condition, but the white foundation paint looks rather distressed with some discolorations that have occurred over time. A 19th century American chest of five drawers. It measures approximately 44.5" tall. 43.75" wide, and 19" deep. We do not know the maker. There is overall normal surface wear commensurate with age and use, including plenty of dings, scratches, and stains as they are found commonly on antique furniture. The surface is refinished but still has a distressed appearance. One drawer is missing its lock. The structural integrity is good and there are no major problems. Each drawer was constructed with hand cut dovetails, a sign of age and craftsmanship. Tall bracket feet finish the piece off nicely at the bottom. You will notice that the top and bottom mouldings appear to have been done in sections. We believe this was intentional and it does not appear like repairs. The wood has developed crackling over the drawer fronts and top surface. This gives the chest a distressed look and provides character and charm to an already lovely dresser! Other minor dings and marks can be found here and there as you would expect from something of this age. Overall this burled walnut chest of drawers is in very good condition. Some talented woodcrafter made it and the bottoms of the drawers and the boards on the back are handhewn. It is walnut and even though some of the boards on the back have been replaced they are walnut also. The drawer runners have been replaced so that the drawers work easily. Other than than and the back. It is all orginal. The top has had some minor repair that is shown in two of the pictures. The piece has 4 drawers, top one extends out over the rest giving it a very elegant look. The top is 45" wide, 21 1/2" deep at the top drawer and 20" deep the rest of the way down. There are 4 drawers as you can see, roomy. I show a picture of the dovetails on the drawers, also the inside of one of the drawers with a knothole. We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous seven drawer period Beidermeier flame mahogany dresser that comes with seven drawers to depicted the seven days of the week. Legend goes that this was designed a long time ago(you can find them nowadays coming out of Germany. Belgium and Denmark) This particular dresser represented the workers seven days of the week and he had the respective clothes with Sunday being the most special day, so it held the most clothes. They were never made with handles and the drawers are opened with the use of a key. Some people argue that the white escutcheon it is a plastic composite and other say it is celluloid. I just say it is very nice to keep it original. This particular chest dates from the 1850s era and is in wonderful condition. It comes with a large original key and all the locks appear to lock, ... morebut we never guarantee our locks to work as they always have to be peeled apart, oiled and maintained as they are very fussy. The chest itself is breathtaking. Look at the selection of the flame mahogany that adorns the face of the hand cut dove tail drawers! The simplicity of no handles is a very stylish move. It has a clamshell molded top and ends with a bun foot that shows signs of the old European wood borers that used to burrow into the wood and they are all gone, but does show signs. It is all good and bug free! The only thing I can see wrong with it is that there was a little chip on the right hand side that the warehouse has professionally repaired and I can’t even see it in the photos. It is all original with even the original chamfered back. It comes apart on top to the second drawer of the base if you want to make it a little shorter for shipping. It is 40 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 63 inches tall. It offers tons of storage in a very stylish and classic cabinet frame. A 19th century Empire chest of drawers in figured light wood. Measuring approximately 39" tall, 45.5" wide, and 25" deep at the bottom(its deepest point) We do not know the maker. There is wear and tear commensurate with age and use, including a few veneer issues on the feet(please see photos) It is structurally sound and there are no major problems. All of the drawers have locks(we do not have the key) and all of the pulls are replaced. It has been refinished. Please view the images as an extension of the description.
