Finished with several coats of Sherwin Williams sand& sealer and two coats of Sherwin Williams top coat water proof lacquer. The entire piece of furniture has been sprayed and sealed good, including drawer bottoms, back and bottom of the piece. The solid brass has been cleaned and lightly polished with jewelers rough. The finish is hand-rubbed and it looks like it has just be waxed. The bevel mirror is original, has some distortation because of age. The towel bar including the bar itself is all original. The base comes apart from the towel bar and mirror for easy transport. As you can see the back looks just about as good as the front. Be sure to check out the paneled sides, carvings, hardware, it has everything. The price is right too so if you are in the market for an investment quality washstand, here it is. This wonderful old wash stand cabinet has a spectacular multi-colored marble top with attached oak framed tiled back splash with lovely old off-white with yellow and green decoration tiles in two rows across the back and open cabinet space below behind the two lower doors is in very nice condition as shown in my multiple pictures from all sides. It has simple lines including it's long straight legs and paneled sides and travel easily in two pieces as the base and then the marble top with attached back splash. This delightful wash stand cabinet stands 41 3/4 inches tall to the top of the back splash frame and measures 413/4 inches wide by 19 inches front to back. Which is also not only it's longest and widest points overall but the dimensions of the lovely 3/4 inch thick marble top surface which is 31 inches above the ground when in place on the cabinet, the perfect height for that extra counter top work space in your kitchen. The height of the top piece alone, including marble top and back splash, is 17 inches tall. The base cabinet alone stands 30 1/4 inches tall without the top in place and is 40 inches wide and 17 1/4 inches front to back. Condition: Unspecified Location: Shelbyville, United States Antique Victorian walnut marble top washstand or commode. The original finish is good but not great. It looks fine as is or you can refinish it. There ... moreis one piece of trim missing at the bottom left of the washstand. It also appears that the right door pulled loose at some time. See pictures. The marble has some scratches and some staining. And I think it still looks good, but check out the pictures and you decide. Measures approximately 29" wide x 31" tall x 16" deep.
