Gorgeous Original Vtg Victorian Renaissance Revival dresser late 1800's w/Crest
This is a beautiful old Dresser I believe from the late 1800's. It is very large. And came out of a mansion in Tampa, on what is referred to as Bayshore Blvd. The measurements are as follows: 8' 3" tall, 20" deep, and 50" long. The mirror by itself measures 18" by 47" It has two smaller drawers, then two large drawers, and then what is called a hidden drawer. when all the drawers are closed you can't even tell the bottom drawer is there. It has a beautiful lady crest at the top. The marble is in great condition. This piece is very heavy. For shipping the mirror will come off. And the marble will also come off. I can't find a name on the piece, but I would think somewhere it would have one. This piece is way too large for our house, which is the only reason for selling it. I have not listed the amount ... morefor shipping. Because whomever buys it needs to make the arrangements to have it moved. I will work with anyone who comes to the house to pick it up, but they'll need to bring the manpower to move it. I'm sure that a couple of guys could move it with it taken apart. Beautiful Victorian Dresser- all wood. This was purchased at Hawkin's Antiques many years ago while they were still in Fort Lauderdale. Anyone familiar with this man's store is aware he carried very fine quality antiques. He still does- but now he is located in West Palm Beach. Piece must go as we have too many pieces now. Mirror has minor loss to silvering- there is a repair to one of the wood drawers that is not visible from exterior. Has keyholes for skeleton key but we do not have a key to lock it. Nice relief details on the dresser and the mirror. Dresser can be with or without mirror on it as it unscrews. This piece is on wheels and is very light and easy to move when drawers and mirror are removed which is a nice feature. Knobs are replacement and are very nice designer knobs that look like interlacing knot work. over 3 feet ... morewide and 20" from front to back- height is dependent upon use of mirror- dresser is about 3 ft tall mirror adds another 2.5 to 3 feet. Each drawer was constructed with hand cut dovetails, a sign of age and craftsmanship. Tall bracket feet finish the piece off nicely at the bottom. You will notice that the top and bottom mouldings appear to have been done in sections. We believe this was intentional and it does not appear like repairs. The wood has developed crackling over the drawer fronts and top surface. This gives the chest a distressed look and provides character and charm to an already lovely dresser! Other minor dings and marks can be found here and there as you would expect from something of this age. Overall this burled walnut chest of drawers is in very good condition. Beautiful Victorian Marble Top Drop Well Dresser. This is a amazing piece of Victorian furniture in wonderful condition. This dresser has a fabulous carved crest. Beautiful raised panels of burl walnut and the original beveled edge marble that does show some discoloration as common in old marble. The mirror looks to be original and shows a little age with some flakes and streaks. The mirror has neat candle holders that have seen the test of time once or twice. They are well attached but have had to be re-glued. T he base has four small drawers over two long drawers. Each drawer has raised edge and hand carved handles. This piece also has casters intact for easier moving within your home. This 19th century Victorian dresser is in wonderful antique condition and exudes all the charm and splendor from another era in time. It is all original. All drawers work well. One of the drawers has a square of yellow paint on the inside front. Also. There is one solid brass drawer pull that does not match all the others. I found. A semi match in a salvage shop in Aurora. Oregon. I currently have this piece in my living room and it looks gorgeous. Way to nice. To have tucked away in a bedroom. 41.5"inches across. 20.75"inches deep. 29.5"inches tall. Drawers are 35.75 by 15"inches with 5.5"inch depth. Offered for sale is this 19th Century Victorian dresser and Mirror combo made from Oak. Walnut and Poplar. To the best of my knowledge it has not been refinished. The number"81" is stamped into the back of the mirror in two different places. I can find no other markings. Hidden drawer has at one time had the bottom replaced with newer thin plywood. It is only visible when pulled out and upside down. Dimensions are Width-39 Depth-20 Height-73* When unlatched. The mirror tilts forward and backward. Drawers all operate smoothly. Long shapely legs, extremely ornate pulls, and round"pin and cove" dovetails. The mirror features a similarly curvaceous silhouette, and original beveled glass. Age: Late 1800s Measurements: 69.5" H overall. 27.5" H chest, 30.5" W, 19" D Condition: I tems are in very good antique condition being structurally sound and sturdy with signs of normal age appropriate use. Incluing a couple of minor dings to the top of the chest, small hairlines in one of the legs and the top left edge, and some wear to the silvering on the mirror, as pictured below. The drawers of this furniture are joined pin and dovetail. Pin and Cove Dove tail: This is the tale-tell sign of the date of this piece of furniture. The drawers of this piece are joined with a pin and cove dovetail. This joining technique was the very first dovetail for factory manufactured Eastlake furniture. It only lasted 10 years and one can be quite sure that the date of a pin and cove joined Eastlake drawer is between 1890 and 1900. Charles Locke Eastlake was a British architect and furniture designer. He did not make any furniture; his designs were produced by professional cabinet makers. The style of furniture named after him.
