The fabric is in great condition with no holes or tears. The only real wear is on the front of the arms. Otherwise there's only minimal wear. There are no tags on it but we've sold other Thayer Coggin sofas and this one definitely has the look of one. It has very cool psychedelic fabric that I think actually looks better in person than in the photos we have posted. The colors really pop. Each of the arms is raised up on(5) square chrome cubes that still have a lot of shine to them. The(4) legs are wood wrapped with chrome. It's an amazing piece and a very rare find especially in this condition. It measures 63" long x 26" tall at the top of the backrest and 16" tall at the seat level. Mid Century Modern Couch and Loveseat. Natural wood '70s. Danish Style. Oak
We bought this on consignment a year or so ago. And have been trying to trace its origin. There is a date stamp on the bottom that reads 5 71 which we assume is May of 1971. Unfortunately there is no signature or Makers Mark to be found. It has been a mystery trying to figure out where the pieces came from. we enlisted the help of message boards and some of the participants had some insights: Looks like a F.L.Wright imitation for sure. Mortise and tennon joinery indicates it's probably from the 40's-50's and the coloring age of the wood. Love the inlays. The wood that was used in constructing the frame of the couch and love seat are oak. The end grain of the wood appears to be different colors due to the configuration of the wood itself and the way the lumber was cut. The finish on the pieces are very light blond to clear. The ... morestyle of Frank L. Wright are usually shown in darker stains. The construction of the underseating appears to be from a recent area. The marking of the number indicates that it come out of some type of factory assemble. Although it could be from a small company. I once worked in a shop with 8 people. We made high end garden furniture that was sold to interior designers. Most important. You like them, Enjoy them, they are unique! This is VERY unique! You are fortunate to have found it and I hope you NEVER get rid of it. For one thing. It is difficult to find a couch where you have loose cushions that can be taken out for re-upholstering.most often you just have to throw it out. They can even add padding to reshape. Lucky find! This is a 1950's or late 1940's modern design. Split sofa in original condition. The photos tell the story, it's 8 feet 8 inches long. One of the sections is faded from sunlight. There is some light wear due to age, and on one of the cushions the fabric is splitting, but overall it's very good. The foam and all the fabric is original to this piece and over 60+ years old. This was the pride and joy of it's owner when moving to the suburbs in the late 1940's(mid century modern home) and was still sitting in the original living room. Description This is a vintage 1960s-1970s Danish modernist sofa. It is made in Denmark for SELIG which is a highly collected Danish maker of modern style furniture. It measures 74 inches in total length. 26 inches in height. It is original clean finish. It is missing the seat cushion which would be 67x21 inches. It is missing 1 or 2 of the rubber straps, plus a number of the original rubber straps have age cracks or are over stretched so you will need to replace some of the strapping. The only blemish to the sofa is there are a few little marks(indentations) on the back crest area, i did do a close of pic of a couple, there are a few other marks like that. Due to the size i cannot ship this out by normal shippers. It can either be picked up here on Cape Cod(zip code 02653) or i can recommend a couple of freight shippers. Vintage Mid Century Modern Eames Era Adrian Pearsall Sofa Couch FULLY RESTORED
This auction is for a beautiful Danish Modern Adrian Pearsall Mid Century Modern Eames Era couch I have had FULLY RESTORED– designer fabric. New heavy industrial foam and body padding, new webbing, new decking, new foam cushions, two new pillar foam end pillar bolt cushion pillows, new chrome cushion clips and I had the strings re-tightened. It is a breathtaking piece of furniture. The original under frame is still in place. I purchased it several months ago, had it fully restored, received it last month and now found out I am being transferred. The furnishings I am taking with me have to be limited and this is one of the pieces I have to sadly let go. It is gorgeous. There are no labels on it. It is IMMACULATE and has been freshly reupholstered with the most gorgeous celery green woven fabric with a designer‘circle and dot’ accent fabric ... morethat is second to none spectacular. I call it my“ Marlo Thomas/That Girl” look! Words cannot describe the colors of the accent fabric. The velvety‘circles’ are a jeweled turquoise color with a matching green celery“dot” inside(that matches the overall celery green woven fabric to a“T” the woven background inside the circle is a bit darker beige color than the lighter beige woven background. This fabric is carried over into the two pillar bolt cushions. The company that restored this couch is renowned in the area and did an EXPERT job. I am EXTREMELY picky and they truly surpassed even my expectations! It is a truly daring design. I wanted something‘light’ yet‘bold’ and I feel my goal was accomplished. Both fabrics are new and are currently available should you want to match other pieces of furniture in your home. Mid Century Modern designer sofa and lounge chair by Jens Risom. The sofa has issues of wear. Fading along a strip at the top of the back of the sofa(see pic 5) There is soiling underneath the cushions on the material near the label(see pic 3) There are marks and claw marks along the cushions(see pics 4.6& 7 for examples) The lounge chair does not have the label. Sofa measures: 90" long x 28" tall x 31" deep. When new cushions were put into the original fabric, the upholsterer did not tighten up the sofa. George Nelson for Herman Miller Mid-Century Modern Steel Frame Sofa Couch
For your consideration is this George Nelson design sofa for Herman Miller. It is their Steel Frame line and this one features a 3 cushion design with an attached end table. It measures just shy of 8' long overall and 28" tall at the back. It is 26" deep overall with a seat height of about 16" The attached white laminate table measures 24x24" While I have no doubt the sofa is as described. It would appear that this one is unsigned. It does show an identifying mark from Northern Illinois University. It is a strikingly modern design that is long and low, very much in keeping with the mid-century aesthetic. It remains in very nice as found condition with only a smudge or two on the back and a small area of minor wear to the back of one corner. Nothing that detracts. Adrian Pearsall Sofa #2404, mid century modern eames atomic kagan couch
Selling one#2404 sofa designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. In excellent condition. Previous owner added one small leg reinforcement on the undercarriage that is 100% sturdy and not visible unless you lift sofa and look under. The couch was reupholstered in the 1980s and the foam is soft. Could use a surface clean, there is one spot on the back right side of the sofa where the pillow sits, but otherwise minimal wear as expected from use and age. Measures approximately 8.5' long, 33" width, and a seat depth of 22" This sofa is for local pickup only, but we are happy to work with a third party shipping service if the buyer assumes all costs and arrangements. MID CENTURY MODERN HARVEY PROBBER LEATHER & BRASS SOFA COUCH HOLLYWOOD REGENCY
Sleek and sophisticated armless sofa designed by Harvey Probber. This sofa is upholstered in top quality glove-soft black leather with a slim brass frame and legs. Red piping and button tufting complete the classic look. It has 3 loose down-filled back cushions for added comfort and the tufted seat cushion is reversible. Extremely sturdy and well made. Exceptional quality. This came from the office of Mitch Leigh, best known as the composer of the music for Man of La Mancha, and it still retains his customer name along with the Harvey Probber label. DIMENSIONS 79" long by 26 1/2" high by 32 1/2" deep. The seat height is 16" CONDITION Excellent vintage condition. Very clean with light normal wear. The leather upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The leather is very soft and supple with a few very ... moresmall scuffs, including one on the back which is not visible when the cushions are in place. One of the tufting buttons towards the back of seat the cushion is missing. It isn't visible with the back cushions in place, or the cushion can be reversed and placed with that side down. There are very tiny holes along the edge on one side of the seat cushion, they look original to the piece and may be there for ventilation. When placed with that side towards the back, it's not seen. The brass is in very good vintage condition with some light tarnish and some scuffs. The majority of this should go away with a polish. We started to polish a section on the right front leg and thought that it might be too bright, so will leave this up to the new owner to decide. The front legs have the original adjustable foot levelers, the levelers on the back are replacements. see pictures) None of this detracts from the overall appearance which is fantastic!
