The fabric has been replaced along the way with an antique beige that is all buttoned and pleated. It must have been done in the last 10 years or so as it is in lovely condition. The sofa is all tight and sturdy. The overall size is 68 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 48 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 28 inches deep, 38 inches high to the crest, 23 inches high to the arms and 16 inches high to the seat. It is a great looking sofa with a great patina on the wood frame.

The frame is in very good condition and the fabric is OK as well. The springs will need to tightened though. Pink is the color of the fabric. Which is in good shape. Nicely carved arms and legs. Probably c. 1900-1915 Item# 120010ERT222 This is a beautiful Louis XV style carved Fruitwood or Beech Canape. Crafted after the originals of the mid-18th Century, probably during the years of 1900-1915 or thereabouts. It is a truly timeless design, replicated since it's origination in the first Rococo period in France even until today. This sofa is entirely carved by hand, the exposed frame around the sofa with crisp molding that culminates in the crest, a bouquet of flowers with mixed foliate. Acanthus leaves peak up over the frame along the serpentine top rail as it flows into curled arms that almost wrap into the front, creating that classic canape warmth and completing the overall flowing form of the design. The entire sofa ... moreis upholstered in a pink upholstery- please read the condition below, as it is in overall"good" condition, but has blemishes that are not well captured by the camera. The frame rests over a thick exposed apron that is carefully carved with the same floral motif at the crest, incredibly stable on four front legs and three back legs, each carved at the knee with a fine short cabriole profile to terminate in scrolled french toes. This is a beautiful work of Early 20th Century hand craftsmanship and will truly be a visual delight in any formal sitting room. It is incredibly sturdy and strong. Full of life to last many generations, and of a classic design that simply does not go out of style. Every generation has replicated this form, but due to high costs it is no longer crafted with this level of detail and hand craftsmanship. Antique Eighteenth Century Hand-Carved Sofa
Nice eighteenth century antique sofa with beautiful carved and scrolled woodwork all around the perimeter. And down the front of the armrests. It has claw& ball feet. It has a small tear approximately 3" long on the right hand side backrest area and a small worn spot on the lower front(see photos) It is a beige color with a semi-floral pattern. I'm not positive, but I believe that the upholstery is original. It is 74" long from armrest to armrest. I have described this item as to the best of my ability, and any flaws can be seen in the photos. Therefore, this is an as is purchase.
