This parlor set has beautiful geometric and incised carvings so typical of the Eastlake era of design and also has all the casters intact on all four pieces. Settee: Measures 42 inches in height. Width arm to arm measures 58 inches, seat width measures 48 inches, seat depth 21 inches and seat height to the floor is 18 inches and this settee weighs approximately 50 lbs. For sale is a matching parlor set purchased 25 years ago from a Victorian house in Moorestown. NJ. The set consists of a large settee. Large platform rocker, a chair with arms and four chairs without arms. The style is Eastlake or Aesthetic Movement, from the 1880s- 1890s. The ornamentation on the chairs is angular with geometric incised lines and chip carving. There is also burl walnut veneer on all pieces. The condition for the set is usable but they definitely could use a trip to the upholstery shop. The structure of the chairs is good with the exception of the right arm of the platform rocker which wiggles because it is loose. For more detailed information. I found the end chairs that complete the set. They are stripped and ready for stain. In excellent shape. A walnut platform rocker with original fabric. It is missing the springs underneath. But the rest is all there. In very good shape with minor dings and scratches. The settee had been started to be refinished. One of the arm rests is broken but can bee mended easily. Walnut Eastlake Victorian Four-Piece Parlor Set (Settee and three chairs)
Up for auction is a walnut Eastlake Victorian four-piece parlor set. Consisting of a settee, a gentleman's chair, and two ladies chars. The set is in excellent condition, and was recently reupholstered when I purchased it a few years back in a plush, velvety fabric(not the black-light Elvis poster type velvet, this is quite nice) The backs of the pieces are also upholstered, so they can be arranged however you'd like in a room. I paid $825 for the set several years back, and I'm offering it a much less than that. The set is being offered as local pickup only. Antique Mahogany Settee Sofa & Two Matching Chairs
This beautiful high quality mahogany matching set of settee and chairs possibly dates back to the turn of the century or earlier. They are in excellent condition with only a few minor scratches. There is only one metal screw showing- at the underside of the armless chair. All other connections have plugs. They are 40" tall, 22" wide, seats are 17" deep, the backs are 14" wide and the settee is 41" wide. As you can see there is extensive carving of acanthus leaves and clamshell designs with openwork throughout. The design in the lower part of the settee is the same as that of the middle part support of the arms of both the settee and chair.
