By Herman Miller, solid birch frame over dowel legs connected by spring seat, zinc-plated steel supports. Back solid birch rail raised on two posts. Amazing, very tactile, original Alexander Girard fabric. The daybed has two labels. The foil label is tightly adhered. The fabric Herman Miller label is complete but barely hanging on to the underside of the sofa. DIMENSIONS 75 inches in length 33 inches wide Height in front- with cushion- 15 inches off the ground. 10 inches without cushion Backrest is 24 inches from floor. CONDITION The daybed is level and not warped. The birch is in very good condition. There are a few scratches on the front lip. The Girard fabric has one run. On one side and falls under the ... moreback cushions. It does not affect the strength of the fabric and is only slightly noticeable. The daybed looks a little puffy because the foam and batting were just replaced. It will settle. Zippers were also added for cleaning purposes. All three cushions have zippers. For your consideration is this George Nelson design sofa for Herman Miller. It is their Steel Frame line and this one features a 3 cushion design with an attached end table. It measures just shy of 8' long overall and 28" tall at the back. It is 26" deep overall with a seat height of about 16" The attached white laminate table measures 24x24" While I have no doubt the sofa is as described. It would appear that this one is unsigned. It does show an identifying mark from Northern Illinois University. It is a strikingly modern design that is long and low, very much in keeping with the mid-century aesthetic. It remains in very nice as found condition with only a smudge or two on the back and a small area of minor wear to the back of one corner. Nothing that detracts.
