Thonet-style Rocking Chair in XLT shape, Seat and back in Cane.
You are bidding on a Thonet-style rocking chair with cane seat and back. In perfect condition. I say Thonet-style because the original chair of this design was only made in Austrian. Thonets were considered one of the first companies to mass produce chairs for public use. These"bentwood" chairs were quite the rage in the very late 1800s and continue to be made well into the 20th century even into the early 1960's. The productions of these"originals" have been made since the late 1800's. You can even buy a new one today online for around $150, but I am sure it is Made in China and not the quality of craftsmenship that the repros were from even 40 years ago. This one has had only one owner. Was in their loft library and got very little use. Like new condition. Measurements are 33" wide, 44' high and 27" ... moreacross. It is made of a soft wood, perhaps pine and stained with a dark finish. Absolutely perfct condition. Very light weight.

RARE Adrian Pearsall Craft Assoc. Mid Century Rocker Danish Modern Rocking Chair
Very RARE 1960's Adrian Pearsall model 812-CR Lounge Rocking Chair for Craft Associates. Mid Century/ Danish Modern Rocker! This is your chance to own the most stylish Danish Modern style rocking chair out there! These rarely come up for sale and the last one on ebay was about 4 months ago and ended with a"reserve not met" at $1221. There are a few currently listed in the $2000-4000 range elsewhere. Unfortunately. Our new house doesn't have the space for it! This one is in very good vintage condition and has been reupholstered at some point in the past. The upholstery is in perfect condition with no tears/pulls/stains/smells and I'm pretty sure it's an expensive WOOL fabric. It features a geometric pattern in blue and yellow(the color mix makes it look greenish from a bit further back) The foam is still very soft ... morewhich leads me to believe it was replaced when the chair was reupholstered. There are a few minor scuffs on the walnut base but they're barely noticeable. I don't think they're worth sanding/re-polying. The back measures 31 inches high from the ground. Seat width is 24 inches(28 inches outside of arms total) The depth of the chair is ~33 inches. While the rocker base measures 32 inches deep. The height to the top of the armrests measure 24 inches. Local pickup is preferred. But I can work with your shipping company of choice to get this to you. I know a lot of people use TSC Moving to ship furniture safely( Because of the value. Up for bid is a stunning vintage original high backed rocking chair by Hans Olsen for Juul Kristensen. It measures 40” x 32” x 26” This fantastic example is in very good vintage condition. Having only one 1” segment of cane repaired. There is no breaks to the frame, and a few scattered minor nicks. The bottoms of the runners have expected, but minor wear. The original cane is bright, clean, and tight. The original rubber coated springs are excellent. The upholstery is a beautiful textured material and is in excellent condition. Free of stains, holes, wear, fading or other issues. The foam is also good, heavy material, that makes the seat cushion lay beautifully. The finish is great with light patina and slight mottling to the armrests, though not enough to warrant reoiling. In short, this chair is an amazing survivor. Delaware Valley 5-Slat Ladder Back Rocking Chair, Mid 18th C Antique
This is a mid 18th C Delaware River Valley rocking chair. These chairs were made along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. They are characterized by the bulbous turnings on the front stretcher, turned front legs, concave and reverse graduated slats and bulbous finials. This is a superior example of the Delaware Valley chair. There are turnings above and below the seat. The 5 slats are highly peaked, and the finials are tall and intact. T he splint seat is original. Likewise. The finish is original and the patina is about as good as it gets. I suspect that this chair was converted to a rocker in the mid to late 19th C due to the rocker profile and later screws. This chair is 42.5"H. 25.5"W, 32.25"D, with a 15.5" seat height. There are losses to the back of the front stretcher turnings, ... moreand the left seat support is cracked. There are also losses to the splint seat(please see the pictures) There is no real joinery movement. Aside from the rocker conversion. This is a late 18th C Delaware River Valley rocking chair. These chairs were made along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. The oak rockers have a great early profile and they were affixed with strong saddle joinery and wooden pegs. The rush seat is old but not original. Likewise, the finish is very old and appropriate, but perhaps not original. This chair is 42.75"H, 24.5"W, 37"D, with a 17" seat height. It has a single plank seat which is 15 to 16 inches off the floor. 21 1/2 wide arm to arm and stands 42 inches tall at rest. Some of the gold appears older than the rest of the painting. c. 1820's ORIGINAL EARLY ANTIQUE CHILD'S WINDSOR ROCKING CHAIR
I have to set this on the floor and see if the back is still uneven. Cause it sure looks like it is in the photo, but I never noticed it before. I knew this chair was something when my crappy friend Shirley kept trying to get it off of me. Believe it may have been handmade and you can see that it was once painted cause there is a bit of the old milk paint remaining where they were unable to remove it from the coarse ends. Measures 18 inches tall to the top of the back rail, 10 inches tall to the top of the seat and 10 wide at the widest point of the seat. It is 12 inches wide at the to horizontal rail. Very good condition made with hardwood that has been worn down to a beautiful patina. There is one slight hairline in the seat just where the wood has dried out over the years, but the seat is very thick as you can see so is not going anywhere ... morefast. Amazing how they are able to support the back without any side supports. Sort of ignorant about these things, so feel free to email any questions that you may have and I will do my best to answer. You are viewing an antique caned rocking chair produced by none other than the very reputable S. K. Pierce& Son/Station A Gardner Mass: Numbered: 2199-3 Rich History of S. K. Pierce& Son: Founded: Begun in 1830 by Stephen Taylor as a chair shop. Soon after this. Mr. Taylor sold out to Jonas Pierce the 2nd and his brother Sylvester K. Pierce. Sylvester Pierce became sole owner soon after this. When Mr. Pierce died in 1888. His son Frank Pierce took control. Location: South Gardner Products: Chairs for chamber suites. Dining chairs, rockers with cane or cobbler seats, and screw and spring office chairs. Date closed: About 1937. Dims: Gardner Mass was once known as"chair city" As you can assume this antique has the typical normal use/ ware. However it was gently used over the many years of its existance so it is in really good ... moreshape considering its production date. I met with an antique dealer to question the value and production date of the seat cover that was placed over the caned seat. He dated it around 1915 and said that the cover(as seen in the picture) can be removed to repair the caning(that got loosened in one spot-also pictured) if you prefer that look instead. He also said the value was around $500. As explained above. The chair maker's company was EST. in 1830 and closed in 1937, but the seat cover is dated around 1915 so the chair's production essentially is dated between 1830 and 1915, so between 97 and 182 years old. The chair is about 28" high and 18" wide at the arms. The condition is very good; the last two pictures show two very small spots of broken wicker. But being about 120 years old and fragile. It is in remarkable condition(a b it dusty) I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON WICKER so please ask any questions. Please buy it As I s since there are a few very tiny imperfections. For sale set of 2 Nice English chairs- One of them is rocking chair. The rocking chair has 2 wheels at the front. The other chair does not has wheels. I am not sure if they were removed. These chairs are lower than normal. They are very comfortable. The wood crave are nice and heavy. The previous owner explained that people back then were smaller than now. Listing this evening a nice smaller(ladies or older childs size) birdseye maple rocking chair in very good condition. It is 32 inches high with a seat height of only 14 inches and a seat width(at the front) of 15 1/2 inches. I have pictured it alongside a regular hitchcock dining chair with a 17 1/2 inch seat height to show scale) The condition is very good. The birds eye maple on the back splat and top rail really make this chair stand out. The seat was recaned about 5 or 10 years ago and is in excellent condition. There are 2 small damages that I would point out on the chair. 1) There is a small piece of veneer chipped off the back splat(pic#7) and(2) a piece of veneer was loose and was subsequently reglued back on to the top rail(pic#8) There are no other splits or breaks on the chair. Here is an antique Pennsylvania child's rocking chair in original ochre grained paint with brown and black painted decoration on the arms. Legs, seat, back spindles and top crest. Pinstriping was done in black. The thicker stripes and other decoration were done in brown. I would estimate that this chair was made in the late nineteenth century. It is in marvelous condition showing only minor wear that I would expect to see in a chair of this age that was used and well taken care of. It is of solid construction that will enable it to support dolls or reasonably well behaved small children for another century or two. There is some light wear to the paint of the seat and minor chipping to the paint as can be seen in the photos which show the chair from every angle. Rare! Very old! Child's antique rocking chair! This is a"spool" type rocker with the wood formed into shapes like spools that hold thread. The original carpet type"tapestry" back is intact. Although the matching carpet seat is entirely missing. A pillow is shown in the picture. This chair appears to be in the style of some of George Hunzinger's work but no signature or authentication has been found. The pictures show a front view of the chair with a pillow in the seat and a view of the chair without the pillow. The carpet back-rest is shown. The front of the carpet is somewhat worn but the back side of it is in very good condition. The wood itself is in good condition.The chair measures about 29 inches high, 14 inches across the back. The arms are 16 1/2 inches long. The rockers are 24 inches long. This chair was ... moremade for a small child, apparently in the 1850's. It was purchased in Illinois for a child who was born in 1853 so the chair was probably purchased between 1853 and 1856. The original owner of this chair was a girl who attended the Lincoln-Douglas debates as a child. The wood is well preserved and the original nails or tacks are still in place, although there have been replacements of the nails on the arms of the chair, probably in the 1930's. Vintage Miniature Brass Rocking Chair Pin Cushion Souvenir of Atlanta Georgia Here is a litttle brass rocking chair with a red pin cushion seat. It is a souvenir of Atlanta Georgia. With a Georgia shield printed on the chair back. Made in Hong Kong" is printed in very small letters under the seat. The seat cushion appears to be made of styrofoam covered with red felt. It has been used, and pinholes are visible in the felt. It measures 2 1/2" tall and 1 3/8" wide. The brass frame is all good. No breaks or bends. This has been in my mother's home since the 1960's. Vintage Rocking Chair Tape Measure Pin Cushion Enesco
This is a vintage Enesco Rocking Chair Tape Measure combined with pin cushion. Large size it is glazed in brown with gold finish(the gold color has aged to a brown metallic) comes with a plastic thimble that was with it at the estate. The pins that were in the cushion. The measures retracts but is a little quirky and we do not advise pulling it past the 32 inch mark. A worn tip to one of the rocker feet(is that the word for it) but I do not see any other flaws apart from the temperamental tape measure. A small split on the front of one of the rockers that has been repaired. This chair belonged to my Grandmother, I believe it is from the 20's and made of mahogany. Vintage Rocking Chairs. Set of Two Matching Chairs. Stained Dark Brown. Lovely! On the auction block is a lovely matched set of two vintage rocking chairs. They are comfortable with a wide curved seat and a gently curved horizontally slatted back. The arms are barrel shaped and are vertically slatted. They have not been refinished-this is the original stain and in the original condition I had purchased them. There is a lovely patina in areas where the stain has worn off and there are some chips and scratches which add to their vintage appeal! One of the chairs has a crack running the length of the seat-this is documented in pictures. They need a little work as they shimmy a bit when rocked. But they are sturdy and with a litle TLC, you can have a beautiful pair of vintage rocking chairs for your den, your living room or your rec room.
