Curved back and exposed wooden frame make this sofa a perfect example of mid century Danish design. In very good vintage condition. With light wear due to age. Some scuffing to the wooden feet, as pictured. Fabric has some small snags and three or four droplet-sized stains, but none noticeable. A typical example is pictured. I purchased these at an estate sale here in Santa Fe from a woman who had lived many years in Finland and returned to Santa Fe with all of her European furniture. Vintage 1960's Jens Risom aluminum gro up armless sofa. This rarely seen aluminum framed sofa is absolutely stunning. This piece was reupholstered in Knoll Velvet(Mohair) and shimmers above the thin lined. Brushed aluminum base. Simple. Stylish design cues include the aluminum back bar, and nine buttons across the seat's back. This sofa is the most comfortable armless sofa you'll ever sit on. I am 6'2 and my wife 5'1" and it is comfortable for both of us. It measures 6'6"L x 32" T x 31"D. With a seat of 15 1/2" at it's highest point. This piece was reupholstered several years ago. The foam and suspension are excellent. The frame is very nice and would polish up even nicer(we like the patina) The velvet fabric is the most forgiving upholstery we've ever seen. This is a beautiful Mid Century Sofa and Chair in a soft turquoise blue. Built in the 1950's by Rowe Manufacturing Co. The set is extremely sound and sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. Here is a Danish style Teak Coffee Table. Designed by Edvard Kindt-Larsen for the France& Sons company. This dates to the late 50s or early 60s. It came from a smoke and pet free home. The table measures approx 47.5 long x 20 wide x 18 inches Tall This table features all teak construction. But the top is likely not solid teak, it has teak edge lips on both ends. The tapered legs and horizontal support beams are likely solid teak. This table retains its original circular France& Sons mark on underside of top. Along with stamped Danish mark. Condition: I rate the condition 8 or 9 on a 1-10 scale. But its vintage. And my vintage eyes think its just fine. Upon first looking at this table. Angled armrests, corded trim, one large cushion seat atop Danish modern tapered legs. In EXCELLENT vintage condition with no major flaws. Patterned vinyl fabric looks amazing, with no rips, tears, stains, or snags. The fabric color is crisp and consistent throughout. The seat cushion is firm and substantial. MID-CENTURY DANISH MODERN BROWN SOFA STEEL FRAME OAK WOOD ARMREST
The style of this sofa was a familiar furniture shape of the 1960s. This brown leather look vinyl is in excellent shape. Cushions and springs time sit deep and firm. But lets you slouch in comfort. The sofa is authentically styled light and lean perfect for a small/large apartment/home living room, den, or study. This sofa has seen light use and was recently cleaned. The steel frame was recently polished and re-sealed and both wooden armrest have been stripped and refinished in a beautiful warm teak color. Three steel legs for support in both the front and back so the piece is still extremely sturdy and works well as a stand alone focal point in the room or amongst other mid-century furnishings. Originally purchased this from an estate sale in near pristine condition.
