I purchased this a few years and was told it was a Dunbar. The previous owner had purchased it through a high end auction in Cincinnati Ohio and it had it professionally recovered in high end. Expensive fabric. I believe it's from the 50s. All four legs are made of solid brass. Seats three adults comfortably. The only issue with the sofa, and it's minor, is a slight sag on the main cushion. You can see it in the photos but it's really not very noticeable. The color is very accurate in the pictures. Vintage Danish Modern Sofa by Folke Ohlsson for Dux - Couch Mid Century Modern
Vintage Scandinavian sofa. Attributed to Folke Ohlsson for Dux. Heavy cotton upholstery in soft tones of white, grey, lavender and cream. Curved back and exposed wooden frame make this sofa a perfect example of mid century Danish design. In very good vintage condition. With light wear due to age. Some scuffing to the wooden feet, as pictured. Fabric has some small snags and three or four droplet-sized stains, but none noticeable. A typical example is pictured. Cushions are upholstered on both sides, with neither side showing uneven wear. The rear cushion springs on the right side have softened in comparison to the left, but it is not noticeable visually. The sofa measures 82 inches long. 32 inches deep, and 31 inches high to the top of the backrest. The height from the ground to the top of the armrest at the front is 21.5 inches. This is a GORGEOUS Hollywood Regency style sofa that will make a statement in your home. It is on trend with Pantone's 2013 color of the year. And is cover in a fabulous crushed velvet that has seen little wear. Any variation in the color is due to the lighting on the velvet. There is no fading on this sofa. This is a beautiful Mid Century Sofa and Chair in a soft turquoise blue. Built in the 1950's by Rowe Manufacturing Co. The set is extremely sound and sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. Mid Century Modern 5 Piece Sectional Sofa Vintage
Up for bid is a 5 piece Mid Century Modern sectional sofa. My grandfather was a family physician in Greensboro and this furniture served as his office furniture in the 1950s and 60s. It was reupholstered with the current fabric in 1995. This sofa is in good vintage condition and has minor stains and two buttons need to be sewed back into place. It is a solid piece and is built to last. They don't make good furniture like this anymore. This is a rare find and needs a new home. I wish I could hold on to it but I'm moving. Up for consideration is Convertible Danish Modern Settee Daybed designed by Peter Hvidt for France& Son. The piece measures 31 inches tall by 64 inches long in the up position with a depth of 30 inches. With the arms down the sofa is approximately 94 inches. The seat height is 17 inches. With a click of a button on the back each arm rest folds down into a full flat lounge or daybed. The back cushions double as cushions or pillows on the ends. Surprising the Cushions along the back are tapered or triangular and are comfortable when one rests their head. They have some sort of spring assembly within. Please note that you see don't see this version to often and when you do quite often the cushions are just custom facsimiles.thereof.these are original and what they should look like.no button and tuck etc.or one long cushion. The cushion ... morefit right over the frame of the arm rests. The arm rests are covered in the center with caning on both sides. This material is original and in fine condition meaning no tears or holes. Please note that the caning is rather formidable. Not light and easy to poke through. The piece is labeled with the"FF" monogram and on the inside of the frame it is stamped"Made in Denmark" with the"FF" burnmark. The piece sports it's original teal material. The previous owner was said to have covered it in the late 70's with a zip on slip covers with a large floral heavy textile. The slip covers were removed to reveal this incredible blue teal material. The coloration resembles the close up photo shown as the camera automatically justified a slightly differing color. No visual repairs. all the spring work is fine and ultra clean. This is about as good as it is going to get at be as close to showroom original condition. It isn't perfect but it's pretty close. There is some very light wear commensurate with age. It is a wonderful lounge. Very comfortable and in great condition as you can see in the photographs! It measures approx. 57" in length, 37" in width and is 15" tall to the top of the first'hump' and 30" tall at it's highest point. It is in the exact condition shown. With no rips or tears that I can see in the upholstery. No foul aroma, signs of smoke, etc. Removed from a Connecticut estate. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that one bottom corner gives some when you push down on it, this may be a crack in the underlying plywood, which can of course be very easily mended from the bottom, without having to touch the upholstery. ... morePickup can be done in Putnam.
