Mid Century Modern walnut with rosewood handle hardware dresser by Stanley. This line is by far and away the best the Stanley offered in the era. In my opinion. I am selling the matching gentleman's dresser, or highboy, separately. Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. The original owner painted the wood white and reupholstered the cushions in a floral pattern with lime green piping. Would be great for your living room or in a sunroom/enclosed porch. Mid Century Cube chair- the saga I spotted the stylish modern chair somewhere on a porch. I believe. The fabric was in bad shape and the foam was mashed up, but, the frame was good and full of possibilities. To go back before this day, I had purchased very expensive, wonderful fabric at an upholsterers yard sale. I knew the chair would be perfect for this great design fabric. I signed up for upholstery class and took the chair as my project. I dropped out of the class after one class- upholstry is hard and takes skills I have not yet developed! OK. Then, I enrolled and paid for another attempt at the class. I never went. Finally, a very good, professional upholster did a wonderful job restoring the chair and putting on the fabric. It was just as attractive as I had envisioned. Now, the bad news is that I ended up spending wayyyy too much ... moremoney on the chair. The good news is I am selling the chair for under what I have in it, only $195.00. I now enjoy looking at it, but have used it very little because I did not have room for the chair originally, but it looks sooo good. In the right setting this chair will look outstanding, and, it is very comfortable. It has a expensive look and feel. because it was for me! Upholstry- new Walnut- has lots of distress marks. Rare 1950's Chesterfield Tufted Sofa Black Walnut Mid Century Modern
This is a beautiful Chesterfield sofa with walunt beveled edge frame. It is in Black and likely Naugahyde. The condition is good but is missng two buttons on the back and all but one button on the seat cushion. There is also ripping on the bottom of the seat cushion and a few small rips on the right end panel. It was in a livingroom with smokers so it does have cirgarette odor. There are some very minor chips to the glass, though they are not really visible once the glass is in place and some scratches/wear to the table here and there including a more notable area right in front of the small caned door as seen in image#7 below. The bookcase compartments have a slight downward angle to them from use over the years but this does not affect them structurally and is common spacing in the joints from the 50+ years of use. The foam is still usable though it is starting to become less soft from age. The original green vinyl is in overall good condition with no rips or holes. Please keep in mind that this set came from the original owners and they had it in their basement/family room for 50+ years. The vinyl does have a musty smell to it. For your consideration is a Fantastic Vintage Mid-Century Modern Sofa. With a Solid Walnut Frame and a Avocado Green Upholstery by Adrian Pearsall! It has very smooth lines, with Pearsall's signature boomerang legs and gondola style frame. Nice'Long and Low' profile, this is sure to fit in perfectly with your Mid-Century Modern decor! It is in the exact condition shown with the original fabric still intact. It has no smoke or pet aromas. Came from a very clean home in Upstate NY. The ottoman/coffee table was stored in a different room and the color of the upholstery has aged slightly differently. The color is the same I believe but the age has toned it slightly differently. The walnut frame is in very good shape, could use a polishing, has some scuffs and scratches from normal use throughout the decades. Great unique mid mod green upholstered chaise lounge with walnut feet. No maker found. Been in storage for many years so needs a good cleaning. No holes in fabric small stain on cushion have not tried to clean so not sure whether will come out or not. Some scratches in the walnut but easy fix. Very unusual have not come across one of these before in all of my estates. Dimensions are 28" width x 55" length weight is approx. 70 pounds.
