The library and its furnishings were built and created in 1959-1960. The interior also featured Florence Knoll chairs and tables. This Mid Century. Architecturally inspired sofa is extremely unusual in that it has a"pull-out" feature that creates a deeper seating area or daybed for one. Seldom seen. We spoke with the librarian at the location, who had been there for 30+ years, and were told that the chairs and sofa had been recovered in the late 1970's. It measures 76" long, 28" high, seat is 30" deep and 36" when extended. The pull out feature works smoothly. The seat cushion is not attached. It has a square tubular brushed chrome and steel frame and legs and light blue tweed fabric. There is a frayed area on the front bottom right corner of the bottom platform and there is some minor discoloration but it has not been steamed cleaned. I purchased this a few years and was told it was a Dunbar. The previous owner had purchased it through a high end auction in Cincinnati Ohio and it had it professionally recovered in high end. Expensive fabric. I believe it's from the 50s. All four legs are made of solid brass. Seats three adults comfortably. Mid Century Modern walnut with rosewood handle hardware dresser by Stanley. This line is by far and away the best the Stanley offered in the era. In my opinion. I am selling the matching gentleman's dresser, or highboy, separately. Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. Description: Offered here is an awesome mid century modern two piece sectional sofa. Angular style in the manner of Paul Laszlo. Designer and manufacturer are unknown. Dates to the early 1950s. Features three button tufted backs and loose cushion seats. The original upholstery is brown with abstract lines running through it. The legs are blonde tapered wood that are set back from the edges to make the sections appear to be floating. A popular mid century design due to the smaller atomic ranches of the 50s to give the illusion of more space. The arms are cushioned and are set at an angle. The bottom edge of the ends taper up to mimic the same lines of the arms. Comes with matching arm covers. Looks great together or with a corner table sitting at an angle. Vintage Scandinavian sofa. Attributed to Folke Ohlsson for Dux. Heavy cotton upholstery in soft tones of white, grey, lavender and cream. Curved back and exposed wooden frame make this sofa a perfect example of mid century Danish design. In very good vintage condition. With light wear due to age. Some scuffing to the wooden feet, as pictured. Fabric has some small snags and three or four droplet-sized stains, but none noticeable. A typical example is pictured. Cushions are upholstered on both sides, with neither side showing uneven wear. The rear cushion springs on the right side have softened in comparison to the left, but it is not noticeable visually. I purchased these at an estate sale here in Santa Fe from a woman who had lived many years in Finland and returned to Santa Fe with all of her European furniture. Vintage 1960's Jens Risom aluminum gro up armless sofa. This rarely seen aluminum framed sofa is absolutely stunning. This piece was reupholstered in Knoll Velvet(Mohair) and shimmers above the thin lined. Brushed aluminum base. Simple. Stylish design cues include the aluminum back bar, and nine buttons across the seat's back. This sofa is the most comfortable armless sofa you'll ever sit on. I am 6'2 and my wife 5'1" and it is comfortable for both of us. It measures 6'6"L x 32" T x 31"D. With a seat of 15 1/2" at it's highest point. This piece was reupholstered several years ago. Item Description: Listed is this Mid Century Daybed/Sofa/Bench. Sturdy daybed/bench/sofa. With wood frame platform and wrought iron hairpin legs and wrought iron back support. I believe this was manufactured piece, although no makers tag or marking found, not a home craft/hobby build, but at some point it was reupholstered by a novice in the current rust orange tone vinyl. I consider this a re-upholstery piece, as the upholstery has imperfections such as spots, scrapes, and a few small tears and home repairs and you will want new foam cushions too because of age. Looks like previous owner spray painted legs black while legs were still attached. Great foundation to work with, ready for buyer's make-over. RARE Moroccan Mid Century Modern Couch Loveseat Davenport
Up for auction is one Moroccan mid-century modenrist couch or loveseat. I've never seen another and found this one facinating! The couch is on original wheels and measures 68 inches long X 32 deep and 30.5 high. In the pictures I mistakenly placed one cushion upside down. They are close to the same condition on each side. There is at least one minor cigarrette burn but it does not smell like cigarrettes. I'm a non-smoker and could not smell any cigarrette or other smells. There's no hint of animal hair either. The original owner painted the wood white and reupholstered the cushions in a floral pattern with lime green piping. Would be great for your living room or in a sunroom/enclosed porch.
