Curved back and exposed wooden frame make this sofa a perfect example of mid century Danish design. In very good vintage condition. With light wear due to age. Some scuffing to the wooden feet, as pictured. Fabric has some small snags and three or four droplet-sized stains, but none noticeable. A typical example is pictured. Cushions are upholstered on both sides, with neither side showing uneven wear. The rear cushion springs on the right side have softened in comparison to the left, but it is not noticeable visually. This is a beautiful Mid Century Sofa and Chair in a soft turquoise blue. Built in the 1950's by Rowe Manufacturing Co. The set is extremely sound and sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. The piece measures 31 inches tall by 64 inches long in the up position with a depth of 30 inches. With the arms down the sofa is approximately 94 inches. The seat height is 17 inches. With a click of a button on the back each arm rest folds down into a full flat lounge or daybed. The back cushions double as cushions or pillows on the ends. Surprising the Cushions along the back are tapered or triangular and are comfortable when one rests their head. They have some sort of spring assembly within. Please note that you see don't see this version to often and when you do quite often the cushions are just custom facsimiles.thereof.these are original and what they should look like.no button and tuck etc.or one long cushion. The cushion ... morefit right over the frame of the arm rests. The arm rests are covered in the center with caning on both sides. This material is original and in fine condition meaning no tears or holes. Please note that the caning is rather formidable. Not light and easy to poke through. The piece is labeled with the"FF" monogram and on the inside of the frame it is stamped"Made in Denmark" with the"FF" burnmark. The piece sports it's original teal material. The previous owner was said to have covered it in the late 70's with a zip on slip covers with a large floral heavy textile. The slip covers were removed to reveal this incredible blue teal material. The coloration resembles the close up photo shown as the camera automatically justified a slightly differing color. No visual repairs. all the spring work is fine and ultra clean. For your consideration is a Fantastic Vintage Mid-Century Modern Sofa. With a Solid Walnut Frame and a Mustard Yellow Upholstery, very much in the style of Adrian Pearsall! It is in the exact condition shown. Clearly needing to be recovered, by the frame is very solid and the foam is even still nice. Needs to be re-strapped as you can see. The only damage to the frame that I can see, is that one side at the legs there is some minor separation where it is doweled in, should just be a clamp and glue job. This is shown in the closeup(last photo) The sofa is nice and stable as it sits however, does not feel weak or cheap, clearly very well built! This can also be reupholstered by our wonderful upholsterer for only $650 in your fabric. Or we can purchase fabric for you at your request. In a yellow tweed with hints of brown to make it go well with the warm tone of the walnut wood on the front trim and the legs. They are in great condition and are very comfortable! Minor wear and tear to edges, legs and corners but nothing too bad. There is some discoloration on the top of the sofa and the outside of one of the arms on each piece has a worn area but that doesn’t take anything from the looks of this piece. The sofa has 6 cushions all which need covering. There is 6 cushion covers for the sofa included in the listing- in the pictures I took them off all but one cover so you can see the covers are striped with velcour closures. Originial cushion covers are darker beige and have a zippered closure.The striped covers fit right over the originials. The legs are slanted and they are all very tight, no wobbling. We have an outstanding pair of vintage loveseats and lounge chair set from the 1950s. Eames era, in burnt organ fabric and walnut. The set reflects the Danish Modern style of the period with its distinctive sculptural form. The furniture frames are made of solid walnut, durable, sturdy and in excellent condition. There is some minor surface wear on the right hand armrest of one of the loveseats. One minor tear on the plaid side of one cushion and some minor thread wear on the cord of the plaid side of another cushion. All other cushions are in wonderful condition. For sale is a Danish Mid Century Modern Teak Wood Slat Back Sofa by Poul Cadovius for France And Son. Circa 1970. I purchased the sofa in NY from Cosmo's for $4.850. I am moving again and am unable to take this sofa with me. The sofa is in all original and excellent condition. The bottom is spring supported. Cushions are original fabric. Wood is in very good condition. There is a slight paint scuff mark on one side that could be removed by a professional. It is barely noticeable. The back top piece has also moved slightly on one side only please see photo. This can be easily repaired with glue there is no nail required it is a flush design. Vintage 1960's Mid-Century Sectional Sofas Daybeds Retro Danish Modern Eames Era
Up for Auction is a Fabulous Mid Century Modern Two Piece Sectional Sofa. This was purchased in the 1960's and has not been used for the past 30 yrs. All Original Orange Vinyl Material. These were often used as daybeds the back slips right off. Each couch is 72"long by 30"deep. To the top of the back it is 27" from the floor to the seat it is 14.5" These are in wonderful condition for there age, as far as flaws the one couch has two buttons missing, the one spot where the button is shows a little tear, on the corner on the bottom you will see a small tear I did show that in the pictures, on the back of the couch there are metal brackets where the wood slats fit in, there is a spot of material missing behind the one metal bracket,nothing that is noticeable.The metal brackets do need some polishing they do have some ... morepitting in the metal. The other couch looks great the only flaw I see is a couple of very small pin head spots, very hard to notice hard to pick them up in the pictures. They have not been used for so long I did clean them, the room these were in was very clean no musty or dampness.These are Awesome, you can place these anyway you would like to. The end tables are listed in another auction. Now because of the size these would need to go out Greyhound, they weigh around 65lbs before packing. If going out Greyhound I will take the legs off and the back off and blanket wrap them. Shipping will run 250 that is one price for both Couches. Once this is purchased and I bring them down to Greyhound if the price is less then expected I will refund you the difference. Pick up would also be Great, I can fit these in my Van if need be we can meet half way. You are purchasing a Super Cool Vintage Danish Modern Sofa and Lounge Chair Set with great danish legs. It is solid and sturdy and nice quality. Dowels are all tight and no repairs that I can see. Very comfortable to sit in. The cushions are heavy and firm and not cushy. Just may need reupholstered if desired but it is pretty clean with a few stains on opposite side of a couple. Color of fabric is gold and green dots. The springs are all in good condition and are the same on sofa and chair pictured. There are some wear marks(pictured) on the wood but do not take away from the beauty of these peices. They are unmarked but remind me of Ethan Allen or Tell City Chair Company.
