This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. The mirror is a vintage replacement and in excellent condition and measures 31 1/4 inches high by 17 1/4 inches wide. This piece of marble weighs about 100 lbs itself. The first drawer opens to a solid piece of burl or birdseye maple. That is a sign of quality as that was an expensive wood. The two drawer pulls in the top drawer are original. There are four larger pulls that were used in the two lower drawers but are missing pieces. I have purchased and installed four reproduction pulls and will include the pieces of the originals in case you ever want to try to locate matching one but even a nice set of Victorian Eastlake teardrop pulls that do come up often would work if you don't like these repros. Offered for auction is this very nice circa 1870's-1880's AestheticWalnut Victorian chest of drawers. The chest is a very nice small size. 38" t x 30" w x 19" d. It has 5 graduated drawers and under the top drawer is a pull out flat shelf for writing or folding clothes(see pic 4) The front stiles have nice Aesthetic carvings at the top and the sides are recessed rectangular panels surrounded by molding. Plinth base and raised on casters. The stamped brass bail handles and backplates have a wonderful scenic design. The top has been used a lot so will need to be cleaned up and maybe even refinished due to all the scraping and scratches. But still is useable and functional. Offered for auction is this nice large walnut mirror frame that attaches to the top of a chest of drawers. Two walnut supports with brass turn screw attachments support the mirror frame(no mirror) The supports have screw holes in the bases of them to be screwed down to the top of the chest. Mirror can be angled up or down with the brass adjustment handles. Frame has nice parallel carved reeded lines all around and the dimensions are outside. 35 1/4" x 29 1/8" Inside, 30" x 24 1/2" Weight is about 10 lbs.

It is not overly ornate. But it does have fretwork brackets, supports and decorative bar that frame a floral painted tin insert. It would have had another small piece below the shelf, but that is missing and all you can see is the lighter shade mark where it would have been. The good thing is that you are able to see the painted insert better without that piece. The wood looks like walnut. ... moreBut I am not an expert at determining these things. It appears to have the original finish. Although it is quite worn and generally a bit distressed, but the shelf is in sound condition. There is also that missing piece that I mentioned previously. The painting has an aged, crackled and mottled appearance. There are two eyelet holes on either side of the side brackets to hang the unit on the wall. Measurements of the shelf are 20" width x 6-1/2" depth and it has a height of 9-5/8" The shelf weighs 2 pounds 1 ounce. This is a really nice old Eastlake Victorian dresser. It is in remarkably good condition. The drawers have the pegged scolloped rabbet joint very typical of the 1870's. The drawer bottoms are all original and in good condition. The top drawer which got a lot more use than the other drawers was worn on the bottom so its sides have been added onto to make them the proper size. The knobs have been replaced. But there is just one hole in the drawer indicating that the original pulls were single knobs. More pictures can be made available upon request for such things as I just described. Up for sale is this great Antique marble top dresser it stands over 7 feet tall with the mirror connected to it. It is about 43 inches wide and about 20 inches deep. It has a stunning mirror all complete and not broken. Its flaws are a crack in the marble top but was fixed at some point in itslife so it is one solid piece of marble just re glued back together. The knobs are not original Although I do have one original so you can match them up if you search for them. Also one of the candle stands has a black cup type ring on it. THIS IS A 4 DRAWER DRESSER IN THE VICTORIAN STYLE? IT IS VERY OLD AND I THINK AS OLD AS 1870'S ERA. I AM NOT AN EXPERT. JUST A NOVICE FURNITURE JUNKIE! THE HARDWARE IS ORIGINAL. HARDWARE IS THIN BRASS DECORATIVE DESIGN. THERE IS A KEYHOLE SCONCE MISSING. THE TOP IS IN NEED OF A GOOD CLEANING OR POLISHING? Antique Eastlake Dresser This is an Eastlake style antique dresser. We believe it is composed of walnut with a medium-tone finish. It has been finished with a lovely marble surface and a large mirror top. The mirror has a beautiful and ornate carved design. Three large drawers sit below the marble surface. The drawers have dovetailed construction. All of the drawers are 33" wide and 14" deep. The top drawers is 6 1/8" tall. The middle is 7" tall and the bottom is 8 1/2" tall. The entire set-up measures 86" in height. It is 41 3/4" at the widest point. And 17 3/4" deep. It weighs approximately 177 pounds. The exposed marble surface measures 40 7/8" by 13 3/4" This is in great. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. There are no visible cracks or repairs. There are ... morea few chips along the dresser edge. It appears as though there was originally a crown as well as a pair of candle holder arms. These pieces are no longer included. The mirror may be a replacement, since it is not beveled, but it is still a lovely match. There is a slight separation in the joint at the top of the mirror arch. I see a few very faint paint splatters on the dresser. There are minor imperfections, such as scratches or spots of wear, which I believe should be expected on a piece of this age. The dresser has a gorgeous appearance overall. Please see pictures for more details, and please ask questions if you have them. 1870's VICTORIAN EASTLAKE BURURLED WALNUT ANTIQUE MIRROR ?? DIAMOND DUST?? M33
There was a worn piece of wrapping paper around this little mirror. And just one piece of it was saved. The last photo shows that paper! It has"1 Augest Thonsen 1878" That's what it looks like to me, but maybe I'm not seeing it correctly! The overall size of this old mirror is 8" x 14 1/2" tall. The actual mirror size is 5 1/2" x 9 3/4" tall. An expert said it is diamond dust, but I can't guarantee that. The best way to tell if it really is diamond dust is when it's damaged. This one is in encased in wood with screws and has been in a dry climate(Denver) for over 136 years, so there's no damage! The"burled" walnut is a veneer, and that's easy to see when you look at the back of it!
