I am sure there must be some cracks, nicks or dings since it dates from the 1910 to 1920 era, but I do not see any. This chair is of Belter quality, but it is not Belter. I don’t mean to insult anyone that has Belter, but the quality is there on this chair. The chair has press cane on both wings of the chair and on the seat, which is all good. It has knuckle arms, flared tulip shape cabriole front legs, cross stretcher to support, and carvings all over. This chair simply blows me away and I would love to keep it.

Mid 1800's Crotch mahogany Dresser Heavily carved. 3/4 carved columns Size: 52" tall. 49" wide, 24" deep This dresser has wide boards. Top board is is 23 1/2" x48 1/2" Sides have 19 1/2" wide boards 7 drawers: 3 over 4 12 glass pulls Top drawers has a veneer band around the edges. Hairy carved lion paw feet. Fine dovetail drawers open smoothly. In great condition for the age. Back boards need to be better secured. A few minor imperfections/surface scratches on the piece but overall beautiful for an 1800's dresser! I prefer local pickup but would be open to working with buyers supplied transport for pickup.

antique r j horner mahogany swan head cheval mirror heavily carved ball and claw
up for auction is just about as nice of a antique empire heavily carved swan head cheval mirror as you will find. i listed it as r j horner. it has a mirror frame like horner and actually the carving and swan's heads are like horner's pieces. But the piece was made in the south. horner was in new york, the northern folks used acanthus leaves for their carvings, the southern ones used tobacco leaves. well this piece has tobacco leaves. it is possible that horner did this special order for someone in the south or who had southern sentiments. at any rate, the carvings and details can not be surpassed. if it is southern empire it was probably made about 1870, if it is horner special order it was probably made about 1890. i hope the pictures give the descriptions of the details of the swan's head and other carvings on the base and ... morethe double stretcher. the feet are ball and claw at their best. it is 74 inches tall, 36 inches wide, and 25 inches deep. the mirror frame alone is 65 inches tall by 29 inches wide. great piece and in wonderful condition, the only defect is a few small chips of veneer gone on the edge of the frame and a couple of small pieces on the top. the wood has been stained and if i didn't tell you, doubtful you would ever know. nothing can be seen when using the mirror the way it should be situated. otherwise the piece is in mint condition, the small chips i mention just to be 100 percent accurate, they mean nothing, can not be seen, and take nothing away from the structure or function of the mirror. the item may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck. i just bought a meek's 5 piece parlor set and have no where to put it, so i need to clear out a few items to make room for this stanton hall set. by the way, i looked at the pictures on the listing, one of the veneer chips can be seen in the last picture of the close up of the swan's head. the chip is right above the neck of the swan which is above the glass knob of the mirror set screw. there ar

antique federal mahogany heavily carved vanity dolphins for base and mirror harp
for auction is a wonderful federal heavily carved mahogany vanity built circa 1850. this is a great piece has wonderful claw feet with winged extensions all the way around. antique empire flame mahogany vanity dresser carved!!!!
layaway available on any of my listings should anyone have an interest in that. up for auction is the nicest empire vanity i have seen in all the years i have been messing with antiques. i bought this not long ago and have it in my dining room as there is no where else to put it in my 20 room house. i have another one in a bedroom upstairs that i will list shortly. hopefully it will sell and not this one as i want to actually keep this one. anyway. I have seen a dozen or so of these, but none this nice. it is serpentine, heavily carved mirror harp, pedestal, feet and wings, along with carved roping surrounding the vanity top. the mirror shows some fog, which does not bother me, i can have that corrected for about 100.00 should someone want that accomplished. it is free from damage or repairs as far as i can ascertain. i think the knobs on ... morethe two serpentine drawers are original as well. this is a wonderful empire piece made around 1860 or so i think out of the most wonderful flame mahogany as you will find. the piece has wonderful patina and is gorgeous. the pictures do not do it justice. it stands 49.5 to the top of the mirror, it is about 30 inches to the vanity top and 22 inches deep at the widest point of the serpentine top. it is 44 inches wide at the back of the top and 38 inches wide at the front of the top. shipping will be the buyers responsibility. you may arrange a carrier, or i will do it for you, or you may pick it up at my home. if the carrier requires a crate, i will build it for the cost of the material and will not charge any labor. the material will cost about 50.00 for the crate, if required. i need to sell one of these vanities, don't have room for both. i am starting this at probably all it is worth, but if you want the best, this is for you! i bought it because it was the nicest one i have seen in years and years. i doubt you can find another one like it, and if so, it will be expensive. i will be glad to answer any questions or supply other pictures upon request. good luck

antique victorian mahogany heavily carved dresser mitchell & rammelsburg empire
ebay allows 12 pictures. for this piece that is not nearly enough to do a decent job in describing and showing it. at any rate. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

Antique 1830's mahogany veneer step back chest of drawers. It comes from New England and has the original finish. The brasses are not original. But are from the 1800's. It stands 49" high, 42" across, 17" deep. The two small drawers on top are 3 1/2" high. They have round cookie corners. Please see picture 4 showing age separation) The four large drawers are 6" high, also with cookie corners. There are two brasses and a brass keyhole on each drawer. The drawers are dovetailed. The legs are column twists with tops carved with leaves. The scrolled backsplash has a brass rosette on the left side, the right side edge is broken off. Very Nice Antique Empire Style Dresser with hand carved columns, flame mahogany
Hi. And thanks for looking! This listing is for a real antique empire style dresser. This is a good sized piece, 47 inches high, 42.5 wide, and 23 deep. There is three drawers on the bottom and two up top, all with hand cut dovetails. I think the bottoms of the drawers as well as other parts are all one piece of wood with no seams. The front has beautiful flame mahogany veneer which is in fairly good shape except on the top drawers, which have slight curve. Along each side of the front are greek colums with hand carved details top and bottom. The top of the dresser is two boards that have been painted to look like wood grain. There is a gap in between them, due to age I suppose. All the drawer pulls are clear glass, I don't think they are original, but they are old, and some don't match exactly. This is a wonderful antique crotch mahogany dresser with acanthus carved columns on each side of the original picture framed mirror and on each side of the dresser base. The fancy carved columns flow down to a heavy claw foot on each side with the original wheels under them. Some wheels made need a little oil to get them to roll freely. All drawers have glass knobs although some of them are not original. The top has some stains but you may be able to just buff them out if you decide to. The mirror is original with some fading that you can use as is or replace it with a new mirror. The drawers are held together with handcut dovetails and the inside are made of quarter sawn oak. From antiques estate! seems to be mahogany, a nice dark wood, with nice patina brass drawer knobs and swivel hardware for the mirror. so much detail work in the carving of the reeded cheval brace topped with the beautiful pineapple finials. Click on photos for close up view! There is a slight overall haze in the mirror's silvering, commensurates with the true turn of century glass mirrors. This is about 18 inches tall x 19 inches wide x 12 inches deep. A couple very minor knicks and a burnt burl spot on the flat surface-see photos. Beautiful wood. this appears to have been gently used. This is an antique Eastlake hand-carved dresser cabinet with a swivel mirror and one drawer. Quite unusual and ornate in styling. Lots of hand-carved detailing including a lovely Victorian fern in a pot on the top of the drawer. The initials"DB" are carved into the pot of the fern. Perhaps this was made as a gift to"DB" In generally good condition with what appears to be the original finish. The mirror has a good deal of silver loss but no cracks or chips. It sits firmly and holds its position when swiveled. There is a small stress crack on the left rear corner(next to the mirror support) which has been repaired and is now quite stable. See close-up. The rest of the piece is remarkably free of scratches or cracks. The bow-front drawer slides open and closed smoothly. Appears to be the original, ornate knob. A very fine antique. Circa 1830's, Empire style solid and flame veneered mahogany tall chest of drawers. There are two bowed drawers over five graduated drawers. All retain their locks, five brass key holes(two brass missing) and twelve original brass bail pulls. The case is on front carved claw feet supporting tapered full found pillars having flame mahogany veneer, with carved capitols, and squared carved rosettes above. The drawer fronts are butterflied flame mahogany veneers, the drawer interiors in maple. The drawer undersides are chamfered. The solid mahogany case sides have recessed mahogany panels. Chest measures 58-1/4" tall by 45" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish, some chipping to claw feet, minor veneer chips at top edge of two long drawers. Top two boards without cracks or ring spots.

All the drawers are defined with very tight and precise ... morecoco bola and satinwood inlay cross banded inlay. The side panels are all accented with the same. It has a well done turret corner shaped top and. Of course, the bamboo carved rings flowing down its graceful shaped and taped columns and legs. The secondaries are all beautiful hand hewn old growth native pine planks. The chest has some typical seasoning shrinkage splits that are well over a century old and very stable. We make no apology or excuses for it-that's just what happens with these and perfectly acceptable. Look at any major museum's American furniture collections. We have studied all of the collections in the United States and continue to do so in an ever learning process. We note after we went to open a drawer for these pictures that it came in missing a right top corner pull ring on a top brass. We have drawers full of these but had to push through the processing of this load with inclement weather quickly coming upon us. They measure 7' tall, the crest on the top is like 3" thick and the other carvings are very substantial. We have restored them both to a near perfect condition.
