The celluloid cover book has ... morean image of The Vatican. The cover does have some blemishes but for the most part is in good display condition. Colors are not too faded. And it is not too dirty and worn. Back side looks to be a red velvet or felt material. The ornate latch is present but does not work. The bindings are a little loose but still intact. This piece originally had cabinet card photos in it when I found it, and I have been selling off the cards separately. The picture holes roughly fit 6"X4" maybe 7"X5" cards. Pages inside are a little dirty in places and have some smaller tears here and there. Overall great piece to use with your photos or to display. YOU WON'T FIND ANOTHER! The other book looks to have a metal soldier on the front. Possibly a Civil War soldier. The front and back are a soft cloth material. Bindings are a little loose but still functional. A few dirty spots on the outside and inside. Some of the pages have rips or tears. This book can house different sizes of photos within the pages. The latch on the side does not work. The chairs have fluted front legs, round curved design back and a flared back leg. They are all tight and sturdy. They date from the 1880s era. This dresser has two top drawers and two lower drawers in the base. Plus two small drawers atop the base. It has a center mirror and two side, arched mirrors making it quite distinctive. The mirrors are beveled and show signs of aging. The veneer has wear, which is age appropriate. The hardware all appears to be original. The four legs have castors, which also appear to be original. This auction is for an antique dresser top mirror or shaving mirror with drawer. It is of a beautiful dark wood- I think possibly mahogany. There is beautiful dark wood grain to this piece. I believe this probably dates to the Civil War era. It is about 21 inches tall. 23 inches across and 9 1/4 inch deep. The mirror is a replacement and there is a lovely piece of matching wood grained wood to the back of the mirror. There is one drawer. British Victorian Era Chest Of Drawers (1880). Three Drawers, Imported From UK.
This has been in my family for many years. A Victorian era(1880) three drawer chest. We moved it here when we relocated from England a few years ago and now is the time to let it go. We believe it to be oak, but it's clearly the same wood throughout, marked with a capital FP(Frederick Pierce) on the reverse. It has all original handles and a simple carved topstop at the rear.
