Drexel is a manufacture of high quality solid wood furniture. Please check the pictures for a better look at some of the wear on the vanity top and towards the bottom. It is still in great solid. Sturdy condition and the drawers are all dovetailed and clean. There is some finish rubbed off in areas toward the bottom front of legs(pictured) main wear is on left very bottom side(pictured) but there are other areas in the front that have finish rubbed off from age/use. There is some staining on the very right side top of vanity(pictured) This can be easily lightly refinished to make perfect. But they are offered for sale at this time. this is what is known as a show stopper. i have been piddling with antiques for nearly 50 years and have never seen or owned a better twin bed set. here we have an r j horner twin bed set created by horner in his french style. they are of course mahogany with the finest grain you will ever find on a furniture piece of mahogany. the beds are thick, that is the head and foot board. they have wonderful form and beauty and are as you can see carved to death. the high boy as you also see matches the beds. the high boy is just the very best and will take your breath away. it is serpentine in the front as well as the sides. the beds have high dollar box ... moresprings and mattress. they do not go with the set, but i would sell them at a very discounted price. i have about 1000 each in the box springs and mattress including the comforter set. i would sell them for 300 each if someone buys the set and wants them. to my knowledge no one has ever slept on them. i have 8 bedrooms up stairs and really don't have many overnighters and i don't remember them ever being used. at any rate, should you buy the set, these can go with it for 600.00 on top of the sale price of the set. i have the box springs and mattress sitting on slats that attach to the bed rails, should you want the top of the mattress lower, the box spring and mattress can rest on the floor between the rails and lower the top about 10 inches. the mahogany grain on the beds and high boy is not to be surpassed, it is the very best. the condition of the set is mint, but i can't say mint because it is over 120 years old and must have a few little bumps and bruises here and there but none noticeable. it is museum quality however. the rails fit into the head and foot boards with dowels and are then bolted together within the rails and it is as solid as ever and does not wi

This is a wonderfully rugged& heartly built super early 19th Century chest that has been well cared for and professionally maintained from the furniture collection a fine Connecticut estate. We attribute it to one of four New York City cabinet making shops circa 1827. The glove boxes have their working locks and keys. Each original lock is hand mortised into the drawers they came on. We did shoot a full set but they don't look anything close to how truly nice this is. It has all its original chamfered drawer panels and frame work. He loved and cared for a super collection of 40 pieces of New York City 1820-1830 Federal furniture over the last 40 Years. This dresser is 42" long. 21" wide(deep) 40 1/4 tall at the marble top work surface, 45 tall at the gloveboxes and 72 1/2" tall at the top of the mirrors incredible frame. The mirror has its original finely casted thumb screw pins that finely thread into inset brass channels on the mirror's frame. It has many features consistent with his craftsmanship and style.He was regarded as one of the finest cabinetmakers in the United States. It is quite remarkable considering the state of our country at the time regarding slavery.He was African American, also known as a free man of color by historians.To be such successful entrepreneur and distinguished cabinetmaker was very rare, considering all of the societal norms at the time. Mr. Day served some of the wealthiest clients including two governors of North Carolina.Word spread quickly about his amazing craftsmanship and quality. We replaced the dull gold dralon panels with the more up to date and contemporary regency red panels and apart from this minute cosmetic improvement the piece is the same as it was when it was constructed approximately 117 years ago. There is a minor black mark to the work top(see pic 10) but all in perfect keeping with age& use. A superb quality piece made by one of the greatest cabinet makers of the 19th century. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique mahogany dresser with matching mirror. The maker of this piece is unknown and we believe this dates to the late 1800's- early 1900's. The dresser stands approximately 36.5" high. The width is 21 5/8" and the length is 46" The mirror is made from solid mahogany and has a beautiful broken arch pediment at the top with an applied carved design in the center. It measures 35.5" high to the top of the pediment. The width is 24 7/8" across the ached top and th emain body is 23.75" wide. Made from solid mahogany the dresser has a classic Chippendale style design with applied carved moldings on the bracket feet and reeded columns on the front. The dresser has four drawers with a divider in the top drawer. The drawers are all dove tail jointed and also retain the original ... morebrass pulls. The dresser appears to have had an early refinish job done on it. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings on the top and feet. As well as a small white spot on the top. There is a small crack on the top left edge. There are also what look like fingernail marks behind the pulls. All of the drawers are tight on this piece. This is a structurally solid dresser. Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. The top left portion of the mirror does have a lift in the frame edge, and there are some areas of missing veneer above and below the center bottom drawer this is typical of these Empire pieces and doesn't affect the integrity of the piece by no means, just a part of the time worn characteristics these old pieces have endured over the past 100 years or so. Top board is is 23 1/2" x48 1/2" Sides have 19 1/2" wide boards 7 drawers: 3 over 4 12 glass pulls Top drawers has a veneer band around the edges. Hairy carved lion paw feet. Fine dovetail drawers open smoothly. In great condition for the age. Back boards need to be better secured. A few minor imperfections/surface scratches on the piece but overall beautiful for an 1800's dresser! I prefer local pickup but would be open to working with buyers supplied transport for pickup.

HEPPLEWHITE SHERATON FEDERAL MAHOGANY VANITY DRESSER
This is a lovely Federal Era mahogany dresser. I believe this to be a period piece. It is constructed of mahogany with contrasting veneers. The bottom board of the drawers have a chamfered edge to fit into the drawer slots as well as hand dovetailing. The veneer does have some cracking around the edges as shown in pictures but in overall good condition for the age of the piece. Also pictured is a repair to the mirror frame that seems to have been done a long time ago. It is a very good repair in respect to the strength. It does not feel loose at all. Lastly. It also looks as if the mirror frame was burned by a candle at some point. I have tried to show all of this in the photos as to accurately depict. American Empire Antique Wig Chest Dresser Crotch Flame Mahogany~Marble Top 1825
Here we have a very Rare Empire Dresser for your consideration. This is a very fine Wishbone Mirrored Dresser with side wig curio cabinets. These dressers have always been the Cadilac of Empire Dressers. But this one is one of the finest we have ever seen. The burled or Flame Mahogany is fantastic. The colors are just beautiful. We do not have the exact history. But the party we bought the dresser from, told us that this dresser was saved in Katrina from the Huricane in New Orleans. It was transported north and sold to raise money for the people who once owned it there. We bought it from the next party who purchased it. The dresser is of such fine quality, and has all original parts. The only thing it may need is some new screws in the back when the wig cabinets mount. At the moment it is all assembled and they were not needed. But when the ... moredresser comes to its new home, that is one addition we would suggest is new screws in the back area. The wood on every side is pristine on this piece. The only thing you would find is normal wear from a dresser of such a grand age. All that is needed is a nice polish and this piece is ready to set up and be displayed with pride. The dresser is 77" tall by 43" wide by 21" deep. The mirror attaches on each curio side with wooden screws and original knobs. The drawer fronts have the carving at the top and bottoms and the matched grain of the wood is outstanding. This piece could be by the famous cabinet maker Thomas Day. As even the sides of the dresser have fantastic matched graining. The hand made dove tails and brass locks, are all top notch and fine quality. The marble top inset is beautiful thick Italian Marble with nice grain and detail. There are no chips, nor cracks on the marble. It could use a polish from a marble professional. But the patina and wear only adds charactor to the piece. I believe it is empire style. It measures 8 1/2" wide by 8 3/3" high by 4" deep. drawers are all dovetailed by hand and square head nails used for the other parts. There is grooves on the top drawers where I believe there was a mirror at one time which has been long lost. It is missing one pull and I don't know if they are original. One leg is missing in the back. the piece does have a piece off of the front edge of the top. I believe it is the original finish with wear from the years. early empire mahogany chest dresser turned columns very early period piece
for sale a very early empire chest of drawers or dresser. made of mahogany. this piece is as old as dirt. the drawer bottoms and the back of the chest is all hand chamfered. the joints are all hand cut dovetails. what few nails were used to stabilize the bottom of the drawers to the back are square nails. it features four drawers. None the same size. one large one on the top that is stepped out under which are situated two nicely spiral turned columns which come to rest on a platform that the turned front legs affix to. back legs are also turned. the feet or legs all have casters inserted in them. there is a molded trim along the bottom of the chest. it has a few minor dings here and there, none of which take away from its function or beauty plus there are a couple of small pieces of boards chipped out. they are all small and doubtful any ... morewill show in the pictures. it was faded and sun bleached when i dug it out of the barn. i cleaned it with new life and then rubbed a bit of stain on it and sprayed it with lacquer to dry the stain. i do not think it has ever been refinished. at any rate, it is a nice solid very old dresser. i am starting it for less than i paid years ago. 500 back then would make a pretty good down payment on a new car. it is a fairly large chest being 22.5 inches deep, 43 inches wide, and 48 inches tall. overall a very nice hand crafted empire chest made circa 1860. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyers expense. good luck.

antique empire flame mahogany vanity dresser carved!!!!
layaway available on any of my listings should anyone have an interest in that. up for auction is the nicest empire vanity i have seen in all the years i have been messing with antiques. i bought this not long ago and have it in my dining room as there is no where else to put it in my 20 room house. i have another one in a bedroom upstairs that i will list shortly. hopefully it will sell and not this one as i want to actually keep this one. anyway. I have seen a dozen or so of these, but none this nice. it is serpentine, heavily carved mirror harp, pedestal, feet and wings, along with carved roping surrounding the vanity top. the mirror shows some fog, which does not bother me, i can have that corrected for about 100.00 should someone want that accomplished. it is free from damage or repairs as far as i can ascertain. i think the knobs on ... morethe two serpentine drawers are original as well. this is a wonderful empire piece made around 1860 or so i think out of the most wonderful flame mahogany as you will find. the piece has wonderful patina and is gorgeous. the pictures do not do it justice. it stands 49.5 to the top of the mirror, it is about 30 inches to the vanity top and 22 inches deep at the widest point of the serpentine top. it is 44 inches wide at the back of the top and 38 inches wide at the front of the top. shipping will be the buyers responsibility. you may arrange a carrier, or i will do it for you, or you may pick it up at my home. if the carrier requires a crate, i will build it for the cost of the material and will not charge any labor. the material will cost about 50.00 for the crate, if required. i need to sell one of these vanities, don't have room for both. i am starting this at probably all it is worth, but if you want the best, this is for you! i bought it because it was the nicest one i have seen in years and years. i doubt you can find another one like it, and if so, it will be expensive. i will be glad to answer any questions or supply other pictures upon request. good luck

Exemplary Federal Dresser--Cherry & Flame Mahogany Veneer
This is a really wonderful piece-solid cherry on top and sides. With flame mahogany veneer on the drawers, thick brass circular hardware(typifying the Federal period) and really great carvings at the bottom, finishing off with scrolled feet. There is minor nicking to the veneer. Other than that, it is in amazing condition. The drawers are smooth and the wood is beautiful. Looks like it was refinished a while back. Very, very heavy, which makes sense because it is made of two heavy hardwoods. Lots of color and a beautiful patina. 43" tall x 21 3/4" deep x 42 3/4" wide. All the drawers have early period dove-tailing, and all the locks are intact but we do not have the key. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

Antique American Empire c. 1850s Dresser Exc Flame Crotch-Cut Mahogany 6 Drawers
A very special piece! My mother has moved from the family home to a much smaller condo and sadly doesn't have room for several family treasures. This flame mahogany American Empire-style dresser. Estimated to have been made in the 1850s, is gorgeous. The dresser's mirror-image crotch-grain mahogany is absolutely beautiful, a hallmark of quality in fine furniture construction. The curved front is lovely, as are the carved backboard and skirt. The finish on the front, sides, and top is glossy; the back is unfinished. All six drawers work perfectly and are outfitted with mushroom-turned wooden knobs. My parents originally purchased this dresser from an antiques dealer in upstate New York and it's been in their smoke-free household for more than 50 years. No maker's mark is evident. English Regency 6 Drawer Chest Dresser, Egyptian Motifs, Mahogany, ~1820 Antique
This is an English. Circa 1820, six drawer chest or dresser. It is made with thick, bookmatched mahogany veneer over pine, double raised panel sides, and fluted columns resting on strong spade feet. The original Egyptian Revival gilt brasses celebrated Britain's 1798 defeat of Napoleon in The Battle of the Nile, and the subsequent discoveries of Egyptian art and culture. The chest is 50" high, 40 3/8" wide, and 23 1/8" deep. Five drawers are approximately 6 3/4" high, and the bottom drawer is 8 1/2" high. I cannot find a maker's identification, but the frame and drawers are hand numbered in pencil. This chest was professionally refinished approximately 30 years ago, and it has been used irregularly since that time. Small areas in the secondary wood of the drawers were filled at the time of refinishing, but ... morethis appears to have been done for cosmetic purposes only. There is no movement in any of the joinery including the legs, and the drawers work very well for a chest of this age. As is appropriate, I suspect the chest with drawers weighs 250 lbs. There are age appropriate scratches and bumps here and there, and particularly on the top and top drawer face. Also, there is long-term wear to the veneer at the location of the ring pulls. Many of the hardware posts(which hold the ring pulls) have been replaced, and the two original posts on the bottom drawer are a bit loose. Further, some of the nuts that fasten the pulls to the drawers have been replaced. Lastly, one of the drawer locks is missing, as is the key. I would recommend Ball and Ball, Exton for the repair, replacement and or keying of the locks. I believe the clean lines and strong profiles of this chest exemplify good Regency furniture.
