Antique Vintage Oak Venier 2pc Chest of Drawers
This is another item I am listing for a neighbor/friend. His parents purchased this at an auction about 40 yrs ago and at that time it was said to be about 100 yrs old. He does not have any documentation to prove this although. He moved into a place a few yrs ago that had a leak in the roof which did some damage he did however totally restore it and resealed it. He does no longer use it and would like to see it go somewhere it can be appreciated and used for many years to come. THANKS FOR LOOKING!

The wood itself has been stripped at one point in it's life, but does appear to have been done correctly.It is fully functioning, I do have the original hardware, but it does need to bee stripped and cleaned. Foyer, or for storage in a living room, this antique dresser with slide is full of rustic charm! Originally made in England around the year 1890 it exhibits the character and elegance we come to expect from fine English antique furniture. The wood used is solid oak which has remained sturdy over all these years. The patina that has set in is attractive and warm in color. Much of the rustic ... morecharm that comes from this dresser are from the old marks and dings found throughout. They are quite prevalent especially on the sides and top. Some of these marks were probably caused by woodworm but they are long gone from the furniture. We often see these marks in antiques and they lend a look that cannot be duplicated. One of the more unique features of this piece is the brushing slide at the top. It was originally used to lay clothes out on while brushing the lint off them. This slide is covered in green felt. Also unique to this chest are the brass drop pulls. They have a very unusual shape and a ring pull. They appear to be original to the chest. Overall the condition of this dresser is very good. The felt is quite old and shows plenty of wear. We have already mentioned that the wood has sustained minor marks dings. And wood worm marks over the years. These are part of the antique dresser with slide’s charm and do not affect the integrity of the structure of the chest. These marks are found all over the piece. The top was made of two boards of oak and over the years they have shrunk ever so slightly so there is a slight gap at the ends. No key remains for the drawers. The
