The results are stunning: the burl walnut displays a rich complexion and a stunning grain. While the brass swan neck pulls contrast beautifully with the wood. Each drawer operates very smoothly and features dovetailed joints, which helps to ensure long-term structural stability. The chest body itself is refurbished from its original circa 1960 condition, while the finish, inlays, brass hardware, and fine wax coat were introduced during this piece's reconstruction. As a result the sides, which still display the original wood, show some minor scuffs that were finished over during the restoration process. This antique style chest would certainly make a fine addition to any furniture collection! This antique style chest was recently crafted as a Georgian period reproduction. The three drawers are all quite sturdy. The sides show some of the scuffs that were sustained prior to their restoration. Shown here is the opposite side. The burl walnut displays a rich complexion and a striking grain. Here you can see very closely the detail in the walnut grain. Each drawer features dovetailed joints.
