The woodwork on the gent’s chair is a bit narrower than the lady’s chair. The fabric is nice and usable, but the fabric on the top of the lady’s chair could be tightened up a bit. Though I did take a closeup of a dark line you can feel, on one leg, and a closeup of the same leg on other side. As you can see, the line does not go all way through, so I do not know what it is. You may notice a few small areas of different tone, probably different pieces of wood took stain differently. The marble top is described above, and could use a gentle polishing, but not necessary. It is 82" long and ... more39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. C. 1890. ... moreSolid carved wood frame ~ wood is believed to be walnut, and upholstered in light burgundy or dark raspberry colored velvet fabric. The wood has magnificent carved details both on the inside of the arms, as well as all other exposed wood areas. Please review all photographs provided, as they show more detail. The top crest rail has a center stylized carved clamshell. The knuckles of the arms are detailed with carved. Layered acanthus leaves. The two front legs have trumpeted baluster formation, with metal casters at the bottom. The front nose rail(bottom front) of the chair is heavily carved with scrolled detail. The rear legs are also on metal casters. The left rear leg has losses to the wood, however, the caster is still attached. Professional repair is strongly suggested if the chair will be used other than solely for decorative or display use. The upholstery is clean and in excellent condition. Showing no signs of wear or use. The velvet upholstery fabric is trimmed with matching upholstery gimp trim. No stains, odors or worn areas. Very good upholstery job. Overall condition is very good to excellent. Barring the damage loss to the left rear leg as noted above.
