Many of these examples have been painted or refinished or just don’t exist any longer from years of hard use. The fine turnings on the arms and the ball at the end of each arm have age appropriate wear. The top of the back has attractive and subtle carving. The oak has mellowed to a beautiful rich color. The frame is very sturdy. There are areas of rubbing to finish and it could use a good cleaning with the appropriate products,which I will leave to its new owner. I have viewed many examples of antique Victorian era furniture, but have not seen one with the exact same details.
