Today we are auctioning an extremely rare Dunhill Namiki Tallboy petrol lighter from early 30s. Namiki Dunhill lighters were hand painted by Japanese master artists and each is one of a kind. Thus they are known to be extremely rare. Especially the Tallboy is one of the most rare Namiki lighters, the last one was sold on eBay two years ago for $3100. The lighter has black lacquer over the silver case with hand painted browse on the upper sides and stork or similar bird on the front with part of the wing on the right side. On the lower back side is artist sign which is less visible. It is signed DUNHILL CARTIER LICENSE FAB. SUISSE on the bottom. Hallmarks R L on the lower side and PAT APP FOR patent applied for) near the striker after opening the lid. I believe it to be sterling silver but may also be silver plated. New upper bearings. New brake fluid, new brake pads, new small chainring, shock just completely rebuilt by Fox, chain replaced less than 100 miles ago. Ready to rock! It has the sort of scratches and chain rub that you'd expect from a bike that's been ridden for a year and a half with one exception. I hit the top tube with my right shifter last year and it scratched the top of the top tube. Up for auction here is an excellent condition 2013 Santa Cruz Tallboy LT aluminum frame in size Medium. I'm the original owner and bought new in January of 2013. Frame-set has about 200 miles on it and is in near perfect condition. Included in the sale is the rear shock. Headset, XT front derailleur, seatpost collar and rear 12x142 axel. I will also include the grease gun. Please note. The last photo is of the complete bike, but only the frame-set is for sale. If you are interested in the Deore crankset and bottom bracket I can include that for an additional $60 installed. It currently is setup with double chainrings and an MRP guard. RARE Primavera Dresser Tallboy Brown Saltman Baker Johnsons Furniture vintage
Rare& uncommon Primavera Circa 1940's 46" tall. 20" deep, 37" wide. Primavera is virtually unused in furniture these days because of it's rarity and expense. Of the hardest to manage is unstained Primavera(you will see Drexel Baughman Primavera which looks dark but it is actually stained) Referred to as white mahogany and prized. This dresser is exceptional and of the highest quality but has defied identification primarily because of the retailer. Woodrums of Charleston. WV was one of the top 3 retailers in the United States in it's hay day and was a prime importer of goods from Grand Rapids. As a major retailer(like John Stuart) it had the right to remove manufacturer labels and replace it with it's own- which it did on all pieces sold. Much like how Raymor also did not allow Botossi and other producers ... moreto maintain their labels for import. The quality of the piece is not in dispute and is rare. Robsjohn-Gibbings is also a possible maker of this item. Note the use of slanted and curved plinth base; the use of edging on the sides of the main body where the drawers slide to. The use of cornering and custom fitted brass and wedges for the drawers; the purposeful added line of wood between the top two and bottom drawers and the creation of every drawer being a different size. Only the best did this. Possibly this is a forerunner to the praised Edward Wormley for Drexel lines. Rago sold a dresser produced by Frank Lloyd Wright with the same style and pulls but also Robsjohn Gibbings designed a near identical model for Widdicomb. Mahogany Highboy 18th Century Revival New England Style Tallboy Chest of Drawers
Beautiful and elegant highboy(also referred to as a tallboy and chest of drawers) This 20th century piece is a revival of the 18th century New England style and design. Finished in a rich. Warm mahogany veneer, the highboy features shell/ fan carvings on both the upper and lower portions. Behind the carving pieces are drawers. The shell carvings are accented with brass, key-shaped knobs. The brass drawer handles on the piece are all intact and matching. The bottom front edges have attractive. Carved designs. As expected in older furniture. The piece has areas of imperfections, use, and wear. There is ample and notable scratching throughout the piece. The scratches appear to be more superficial than deeply gouged. Likewise, there are nicks/ scuffs throughout the piece and notably along the edge of the bottom apron edge. The front has some ... morediscoloration, where it may have been stained. There are a few areas of small raised staining on the front drawers, giving a"caked on" appearance. This may be removable, but I would leave that to the new owner. Two of the four feet are intact, while one is missing and another is split. The piece still sits evenly, as all four legs are intact. The upper right(facing the piece) side molding is missing, revealing the wood beneath it. Looking head on, I do not find this to be apparent, and the piece could be positioned to have that side towards the wall. The top shell-carved drawer has a split extending from the design to the outer edge. At one point, there may have been a finial extending from the middle, top section. This is not an extensive list, but among the highlights. Please examine the piece in person to determine the condition for your expectations. The price reflects these condition issues- presenting a wonderful opportunity to purchase a well-crafted highboy at a nice price. While you may choose to have these issues restored. It enhances the capabilities of the original Tallboy with hardly any weight penalty- it's not much over 5 lbs, with shock. Santa Cruz's carbon layup is remarkably stiff, strong, and durable. The frame has been professionally maintained and well-cared for. There are a number of small wear marks and nicks, but no gouges, deep scratches, or cracks. The headtube is tapered from 1 1/8" 1.5" and includes a Cane Creek 40 headset. The rear spacing is 12x142mm and includes a DT Swiss RWS thru-axle.
