This is an absolutely beautiful and quite unique. one-piece' L-shaped antique sofa(circa 1940s-1950s) with a low back, clean lines, original fabric in excellent condition. Solid hard wood frame, steel springs, and horsehair cushions, buttoned back, and screw-in hard wood legs. Fabric Color: Soft Yellow Measure: Almost 8' in each direction. Back is fully upholstered and visually appealing with its curved one-piece look. So the sofa will work away from a wall as we had(see pictures) We aqured this piece many years ago which originated from a wealthy estate nearby and may have been commissioned originally. This is unknown as there are no apparent makers marks on the outside. And we have not removed the bottom batten to determine if it is labeled or stamped on the inside. The other interesting feature with this set is that the original upholstered cushions are in fine condition but the previous owner had the cushions reupholstered with zip-on and off slip-covers. CONDITION The legs all have about an inch of staining on the bottom where there was a water issue in storage at some point. A few legs have missing veneer strips on the rear sides so not visible(see photos) and not compromising stability. Wrought Iron daybed/chaise. Original upholstery has staining on both sides. The two cushions have fading and stains from the movable iron back bars. I fell in love with this and had to buy it so really don't mind if it doesn't sell. You just don't see too many Mid Century Modern wrought iron chaises/daybeds. I love this one because you can move the iron backs to wherever you want, which I prefer at the ends so two people can share it at the same time, while reading a copy of Atomic Ranch, or, A Movable Feast. If you don't mind the stains. Seen in photos 9& 11, as well as the fading and wear, then you don't have to do anything but enjoy. If you want to reupholster it, then that can be done as well, of course. The wrought iron has some rusting/oxidation on the legs and frames. It measures 77" long approximately, ... moreand 29" wide. This stunning& sleek low profile mid century solid Teak Sofa features multi-colored interchangeable cushions enabling you to have a few different looks. Black. Gray and Dark Green, VERY NICE! neutral colors that look great with most anything. This Sofa is well made and super sturdy with some normal light wear from use over the years. A few of the spring supports show some wear(see close up photo) It looks like the frame has had a redo/reinforcement on the middle back support. A tiny section of the dowels are visible from the back of the sofa only. Whatever was done, it is extremely sturdy. I cannot see where there was damage or why the dowels would be showing, but the piece is level and very secure. The cushions are comfortable. The black leather cushions show some cracking from age, but are still totally usable and comfortable as is. There is a long strip of velcro( the soft side) along the back of the frame which a previous owner probably put there so it would not rub against a wall.
