France and imported to it's current location in Charleston, SC. This high quality solid oak furniture was manufactured somewhere between the 1900 and the early to mid-twentieth century. In addition to the wonderful condition, the beautiful wood grain is highlighted by the highly detailed carvings and the parquet oak and burl top alongside fabulous heavy carved full size dining chairs with leather seats, secured with a complete set of decorative brass tacks. These chairs are particularly rare and hard to find with their full size dimensions and comfortable leather sling seats. I've included a number of photographs but it is difficult in just twelve photo's to show all the detail and beauty of this rare set of early 20th century French Renaissance Revival dining table and eight dining chairs. This ... morefabulous piece was part of the original furnishings of the patio Del Moro Courtyard Apartments in West Hollywood. Built in 1925 by famed architects Arthur and Nina Zwebell. The Patio del Moro is a paragon of Spanish revival architecture in Los Angeles. The Zwebell's worked together as a team with Arthur designing the buildings and Nina designing the interiors and furnishings. The Patio del Moro is featured in many publications on 1920s Spanish architecture in Los Angeles. Many Hollywood luminaries have lived there over the years. Charlie Chaplin stayed there while he was making The Great Dictator as did his mistress Paulette Goddard. Humphrey Bogart Joan Fontaine and Suzanne Pleshette have all lived there. This bench is original to the building and were designed by Nina Zwebell. The Zwebells had a furniture manufacturing warehouse where Nina designed and made most of the furnishings for all their projects. Its made of handwrought iron and the attention to detail is incredible. The bench is newly upholstered with a custom tasseled cushion. It is collapsible. The iron is very heavy and finely detailed.
