There is fleur-de-lis carvings and dragons carved throughout both sides of the tree bark solid wood carved posts that are supported with full wing griffin lions. Underneath the full wing griffins holding up the outside pillars are maidens carved out of solid wood and below that is what appears to be a werewolf with claw feet holding up the base.

Fulper Pottery #4015 Footed Lion's Head Vase
This is a Vintage Fulper Pottery#4015 Footed Lion's Head Vase. It is 6 inches tall and the base is 2 1/2 inches square. The vase was manufactured by the Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington and Trenton. New Jersey between 1922& 1928 as determined from the Fulper mark on the piece. The vase has a mirrored finish and the color I believe is Cat's Eye Flambe. The piece is marked on the bottom with the ink stamped vertical"FULPER" racetrack mark along with the number 4015. This Fulper mark contains the stylized oriental letters. There is also affixed to the side of the vase a partial silver paper label with the same lettering.The mark is pictured in"The Fulper Book" by John Hibel, Carole Goldman Hibel, Robert DeFalco& David Rago, at page 79. Of interest, from the same source, this vase is pictured at page 110 ... moreand assigned the number T45. The T numbers in the book were assigned to shapes for which there were no known Fulper factory numbers. The vase has the very faintest amount of crazing which can only be seen under a bright light with close inspection. The piece is in otherwise excellent condition and I can find no chips, cracks or mold flaws. This vase is a beautiful piece of Fulper pottery and the colors are truly striking. I work very hard to correctly describe everything I sell but I am not perfect. I not only check the item. It is checked by a second person. OLD FANCY GILLINDER GLASS COVERED BUTTER DISH WITH HANDLES& FROSTED LION HEAD ON TOP LID This is an old fancy clear glass Covered Butter Dish with side handles that was made by the Gillinder Glass Company and dates to around the 1870's. The Gillinder company set up at the Philadelphia World's Fair in 1876 to sell their glassware and were graced with notoriety thereafter. This is a 2-handled Covered Compote with a frosted Lion Head design on the top of the lid. It is a very lovely piece that would look great on display at your home. It is in great shape overall for its' age with just a few fleabites on the inside rim of the dish. Once displayed you couldn't even see them. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Covered Butter Dish measures about 7 and 1/4" tall by about 5 and 3/4" in diameter at top ... moreopening. Weighs just over 2 lbs. The bowl has a slight"tilt" Probably due to insufficient cooling before being removed from the mold. There also is some roughness in a small"dimple" on the outside edge of the base mold seam. It looks like a piece of"flash" broke off when the mold was opened or after cooling. Neither condition is unusual or serious and mentioned only for accuracy of condition. Other than the conditions listed above we found no other chips or cracks. The pattern is well defined and the glass clear and bright. Antique silver plate coffee pot in need of a little TLC. Lion with shield finial. Ram's head on the handle and lots of floral, fruit and foliage decoration every where else. One side is monogrammed with a fancy H. No maker's mark and no metal content marking. No dings. The angular handle has two ivory colored spacers, one of which is partially broken, and as a result th at middle piece of the handle is a little wiggly. The bottom part of the opening of the spout is bent downward and is even"torn" at the edges from the rest of the spout. The entire piece seems to be leaning a bit toward the handle. It was a department of Meriden Brtiannia Co and was one of the orginal companies that formed International Silver Co. Forbes specialized in quality silver plate. This basket has a stylized lion head and a shield in the bowl and 4 claw feet. Very ornate detail around the open worked edge. Marked well on the bottom with the Forbes hallmark. Quadruple plate and the number 369. Displays beautifully. Measurements. Bowl is 12 inches wide. 13 inches wide with the handle and stands 9 inches tall, including the handle. FINE OLD ANTIQUE 18TH CENTURY VIOLIN OF THE EBERLE SCHOOL CIRCA 1760, LION HEAD.
Extraordinary antique 18th century of the Eberle School made circa 1760. Fine master violin of the Eberle School made circa 1750. Ornated with a fantastic lion head. The violin was made after a Stainer elevated pattern, and shows master workmanship. The back, of a single piece of spectacular maple, is absolutely gorgeous. The lion head is a pure beauty, and has nothing to do with the average 19th century ones we can often find. The carving is superb, and has a strong personality. The varnish is of a rich red-brown colour on a golden ground. The violin is in a restored condition. With many restored cracks on front, including a soundpost one which has been patched. The head has been grafted on a new neck, and shows pegs bushings. The violin is set-up with rosewood ans bone fittings, a Despiau bridge, Thomastik Dominant strings, and is ready ... moreto play. On the inside back can be found a label of"Joannes Udalricus Eberle fecit Pragae 1767" and another restorer's label. The violin has a wonderful deep mature sound. Very baroque as expected, warm, and will allow you a lot of sensitivity in your play. An extraordinary 18th century golden sound for this rare and beautiful instrument, suitable for concertists, teachers, and collectors. Fully insured shipping to EC $50, and to USA $90. I love this chair and have had it for a few years. My wife calls this my kings chair. It is georgeous and heavy. Solid oak(i believe) handmade and handcarved from the 1800's i believe the-king james III period-1820's original had red velvet that was in poor shape. I had it redone in leather w/ brass nail heads and looks great-inside filled w/ original horse hair and straw not only does the chair look great. But also sits great the few times i have sat in it-i consider these chairs you admire and not use-the craftsmanship is amazing i have had 2 apprasials on this chair-one from the 90's stated 9k and one recently stated 10k i have read of 2 similar sell at a new york auction for more than 10k each-one sold for 17k free pick up or i can crate and ship-crate is an additional charge of $95 I have been selling on EBAY for a few years ... morenow and really enjoy it. Antique Lion on Head Kinghts of Pythias Sword UR FCB Ceremonial Fraternal Sword
You are bidding on an antique Knights of Pythias sword and scabbard. One of their Uniform Rank swords, which since the 1950's has been banned. The sword is in over good condition, light wear on blade and scabbard and light oxidation. The sword and scabbard measures approx 34 3/4" inches. The sword has the name Henry Abraham inscribed on it. Early in the group's history, when a man was inducted into the Knights of Pythias he received a ceremonial sword. Such swords might be given to a Pythian by family members, business associates, or others as a token of esteem. In recent decades, rather than require each member to own a sword, the local chapter maintains a collection of swords for use by its members. Long, narrow swords are generally used in public during parades and drills, while short swords are used in displays. Markings ... moreon swords varied widely. Most swords were inscribed with the acronym"FCB. which stands for the Pythian motto(Friendship, Charity, Benevolence" Images on swords were also somewhat common, and included: A man, woman and child(symbolic of Pythias saying good-bye to his family) a man looking out of a building, with a group of people below(symbolic of Damon's pending execution) a man between some pillars, pulling them down(similar to Samson destroying his enemy's temple) or various types of weapons(swords, axes, hammers, etc. A full Knight of the Pythian order often inscribed his sword with the image of a knight's helmet with a lion on the crest. Many also carried the image of a sprig of myrtle(the Pythian symbol of love) or a falcon(the Pythian symbol of vigilance) Early in the group's history. Some Pythians formed the Uniformed Rank, which adopted military terminology for its organization. Swords owned by a member of the Uniformed Rank might be inscribed with the acronym, UR, a dove, or a lily. The Uniformed Rank was banned in the organization in the 1950s.
