This heavy(3.5 lb) lion head knocker is extremely impressive and has more than a touch of the"Green Man" in its features. Comes with original back-fixing screws and is in very good condition considering it was a front door item. Included with the knocker is an ornate side entrance knocker/letterbox. For sale. An antique pair of solid brass lion head draw pulls. There is no manufacturer name or other markings on these pull. They measure about 2½” x 2½” the post on the back extends out ½” and they each weigh about 6 oz. These pulls are in excellent condition. The two short screws shown in the pictures are the only ones I could find that fit the threads. It may take some digging to find something else that fits. Shipping is $4.00. Two very old and very unique Siegel Cooper Co. Lion head chairs from"The Big Store" which is what the Siegel& Cooper Co. Department Store was called back in the very very early 1900's. It looks like it is stamped 1908 or 1909 in red under the name on the paper tag that is still under one of them. One chair has arms and one does not have arms. The seat on the chair without arms is split but still connected to the other piece by the original leather but not to the bottom of the chair as clearly shown in the picture. the seats look to have the old straw type filling in them as you can see in one of the pictures. The back on the one with arms has some small spots where the wood is damaged clearly shown in pictures. This is a beautiful pair of heavy solid bronze lion head door knockers. These were purchased in an antique shop in Hong Kong years ago. They measure about 6" high x 5.5" wide. They have a rich golden colored patina. And have three mount ing holes. And would look great on a door or wooden gate.

Top range British Naval sword in its matching scabbard with leather case and associated photograph album. The blade by rare maker“A. Hastings Chatham” bears traditional etched decorations. The sword knot is applied to the knuckle guard. Lion’s head pommel hilt in absolutely faultless condition. The back edge of the scabbard shows some disintegration of leather along the sewing point– which is in our opinion the only downside worth mentioning of this otherwise impeccable piece. This unit has been in my smoke free studio. Everything works A+. Incredible unit. The top. All knobs are in great shape and the face is too. I will carefully pack and ship this rack. This unit has the"HD mod" which BLA no longer does. They stopped doing this mod a couple years ago I believe. This is basically the same as the tweak head mod but the power supply was not upgraded. So it is the tweak head without the power supply upgrade. All inputs and outputs have been modded and there is a BLA clock inside now. It is a fantastic unit and sounds excellent. They are marked on the underside KBC3 1377 and they do not appear to be very old. They measure 2 5/8" tall from top to bottom and 1 5/8" across. They come complete with mounting screws. Based on the back side, they look like they may have been copper plated, but that has worn off of the front. They are in good condition- they show wear consistent with age and use. The bow is 28 1/2" long and has a wonderful mother of pearl star design in each side of the frog and a wonderful design at the bottom of the frog! Included is the case that the violin was found in! The violin appears to be in very good condition. We did not restring and play it so we can not testify to its sound. The only"issues" we could find is one of the pegs appears to be a replacement as it does not have the mother of pearl dot that is in the other ones and is longer; and one of the other pegs does have a broken end. The violin appraiser stated the following: It looks as though the body has been re-varnished at some point. The finish on the neck is different from the rest; very smooth. Probably from use, which makes for ease of play. The binding is in good condition and typical for its day. Absolutely beautiful but there are two places where it has been repaired, but it looks nice. There is a place on the upper head stock on the side of the peg head where it has been repaired. This is one of the many Steiner-like copies dating from the very early 1900's. It was not a high end ... moreinstrument in its day but sold to students and intermediate players. Many violins from this era do not have any markings or makers stamps. Its sound and quality today will probably be very nice. Somewhat twangy, and more specific to fiddle players than a concert violinist. You will have to set it up right to play it to discover how it sounds. From the weight and feel, it could be very nice. The bow says Karl Hermann and it is from Germany as well. It is a general quality bow and not anything special. It is playable as is. But would need new hair for best results. The case is probably a later period case but it is a very good quality case; He said that the violin set up with new strings and fine tuners would sell in his store for $400-600. The violin also comes with 3 extra bridges; 1-Aubert. 1-John Juzek, 1-unmarked Also 2 boxes of Rosin and Pitch Pipe Case is in very good condition. All locks and latches work. Includes key. Offered here is a vintage metal door bell. Made of a heavy metal but I am unable to tell what kind. Almost looks like pewter. The wiring and the type of plastic on the back is typical of probably the 40's or 50's. Inside are two light bulbs that light up the eyes when the button is pushed. Not tested. I would recommend at least rewiring before using. Unable to find any markings to indicate maker.

EARLY IMPERIAL GERMAN CHILD’S SWORD-W/ PRUSSIAN EAGLE & LION HEAD DESIGNS
Very good condition early Imperial German child’s sword that was designed as a miniature of an officer’s dress sword. 18” blade has mixed bright. Gray, and brown metal finish with a fuller on the right side and is marked MADE IN GERMANY. Remaining metal finish is gray and brown. Sword features a lion head pommel and a Prussian eagle design on the guard. Grip shows some normal wear but no cracks or chips. Fitted in correct original metal scabbard that has bright metal finish with a little scattered gray and brown and a couple of dents. A very rare early Imperial German child’s sword that will make a super addition to your collection and a great display piece.

The violin no longer had a label in it when I acquired at an auction recently. I just love the lion head scroll. Had not seen any at sales for five years and have found and obtained two of them in the past four months. The violin appears to have both a 2 piece belly and back. The seams on both sides are sound and the soundboard and back are also tightly glued to the sides. Certainly some scratches to the surface. Rosin left on the finish, some finish loss, but no cracks, splits or repairs that I see to report. Thin wood graining on the soundboard belly. Nice f hole and beak work. The purfling is painted on, not inlay. The sound post is up, the string to set it is still in there. ... moreOnly three of the tuning pegs are there. Expect that the strings that are on the piece will need replacing. There are no bows that came with this violin. There is a nice older case that latches work(no key) and the insides are worn. Comes with a pitch pipe and a couple of extra bridges as well. The violin is 23-1/4" long. By 8.5" wide. The body of the violin is 13.75" long. This is: a solid metal letter opener with the handle and the blade oriented in different directions so it is either resting on the back of the handle and the blade is upward. Or over on the blade and the handle stands up. The handle has a pattern in the metal as see in 3rd pix, the blade is quite pokey and sharp. The back of the handle has makers marks as see above: SD in a circle; a lion with paw raised, I think called lion rampant, in a rectangle; a cats head in a square; a small letter r in another square; and finally Made In England impressed into the metal. I think this probably marks this as silver and dates it but I don't know how to read silver marks. Jaeger J&C Bavarian Hand Painted Roses Serving Bowl Lion Head Handle Antique
Very nice Limoge style Jaeger Bowl(J&C Bavarian) Hand painted. Hand crafted, a real piece of art in porcelain. Bowl measures 6 inch across the opening, about 10" from handle to handle. The handles are in the shape of a head, maybe a lion, griffin, hard to say. There is a gold painted trim on the bowl, the inside is glazed in a mother of pearl finish which shows green and pinkish-purple. No cracks. 1883 Mark F.B. Rogers Silverplate Dome Lid Bowl Dish Shabby Black Lion Head Legs Went to the flea market this weekend hoooray- so happy to have it back. Lotsandlotsandlots of antiques and unique for you this week. And I’ll be listing all week, so be sure to keep checking! O.K. The legs of this beauty had me at hello. I'm calling it shabby in my title, but that's because of the darkdarkdark patina on the silverplate- to the point of black in some spots, with light spots too where you can see the silver color- I have not messed with the original patina by cleaning it etc. It's not shabby because of the structure- it's in excellent solid and sturdy condition, with a working dome hinges lid and three legs- each with the relief image of a lion at the top. I can get one of the legs to move ever so slightly back and forward if I ... moreforce it- it stands straight on its own. The legs are attached by pins on either sides that look to have little nuts on the other side, so you could try to tighten it if you felt necessary- I don't think it is, though. I do believe that this piece once had a dish or bowl of some sort on the inside- I do not have it- and the bottom bowls down just like the lid to form a half sphere inside. There's scratching to the metal that is easier to see on the cleaned bottom- less hidden by the dark patina of the top. It is dirty, and could use a good cleaning. It has the 1883 F. B. Rogers mark on the underside- someone rubbed the bottom clean in order to see it- it wan't me, I swear! But, at least you can see how this beauty may clean up, though! In addition to the logo, it also has the number 273 on the bottom. Measuring 5 1/2" wide in total, it stands 5" tall, and the round opening of the bowl under the dome is 3 1/2" diameter by 2" deep. It weighs just under 1 lb. I'd fill it up with potpourie or make it a candle holder- maybe a soap dish for the bathroom? LOVE the shabby look. Please ask if you have any questions. WW1 German Lion Head Presentation Sword - With Double Etched Blade
This is beautiful german lion head presentation sword with red glass eyes and double etched blade. It needs a good cleaning and not being a pro I left it as found. The handle is brass and has the lion head handle with red glass eyes. They are both there. Just need a cleaning. The handle also has oak leaf guard with second lion head on the hilt. Crossed cannons on the face of one side. The grip is a bit worn but in decent shape. The outside of the hilt is engraved with'Geschütztes Muster' which means protected pattern. Handle length is 6.5 inches, blade length appox 28.5 inches. Total length 35 inches The blade is etched on both sides and unfortunately the pictures don't do it justice. The etchings go about 1/2 to 2/3 the length of blade. The etchings are of floral deigns with battle weapons. I can definitely make out the ... morecrossed cannons etched on one side. There is some rust. Dirt, and pitting on the blade see photos. Scabbard has two small dents but I'd in decent shape. Use photos to judge for yourself. I am no expert and just telling you what I know.
