GERMAN OFFICER WW11 SWORD WAFFEN MAKER LION HEAD RUBY EYES WITH SCABBARD
I wish I could tell you more but here is what I know. This sword is from WW11 and the only part of the maker mark I can make out is several initials and the word WAFFEN. The lions head has ruby's for the eyes. I see no evidence it was ever gold plated. I would call the scabbard good condition with a dent toward the end. The paint is good. The fit is great. The blade is perfect. You won't find a better one. That's about all I can say. I'm throwing a number out there and you can throw one back. Please ask questions.

WWII nazi lion head ruby eyes sword saber swastika german clemen and jung
I'll try to tell you as much about this as possible as I know nothing about it. The handle is a gold lion head with red(ruby) eyes. I doubt they are real. I'm not even sure the sword is real. Based on the shape and general demeanor I think it's a reproduction. I'll leave that to the ebay experts. On side of the blade guard is plain. The other has the swastika and the eagle. The entire length of the sword is 40 inches. The blade is 34 1/2 inches. There is a blood groove on the sword that is just over 18 inches long. The blade is not sharp, or has never been sharpened to a blade. The scabbard is black and metal. There is a maker mark on it and it is hard to see under the hilt. Even harder to photograph. I'll do my best.It looks like a shield with the letter'z' with two dots on either side of the z. almost makes the ... moreshield look like a face with a sharp pointy nose. Above the shield it looks like to letter"C" facing each other, so the second is backwards and in the middle is either a stick man with his hands in the air or a bundle of wheat maybe or a"y" with a line straight up the middle. After looking around online, I believe the mark is from Clemen and Jung. and it's a crown over the shield. Man, I'm getting old and those little symbols are hard to see! I found a few swords like this on ebay and the internet. But nothing exactly like it. I would love to know more, so if you're reading this, plus shoot me an email and give me the scoop. However. hyperinflation ensued. As a result. This coin was little circulation. Instead, they were melted down for scrap aluminum. Not many survived. Beautifully detailed Lion's Head Beaker to commemorate Prince William's christening August 4. 1982. The front has a colored photo of the prince in the arms of his mother Princess Diana with Prince Charles looking on proudly. This is number 277/500. There is damage to this piece a 3/4" strip, triangular shaped, and glued back. Some of the gold was rubbed off by the glue. It is on the back side of the piece and doesn't take away from. I have tried to picture the inside and outside of the damage, it was had to capture. It was damaged when I purchased it but since it is a rarer item. I wanted it. Imperial German Lion Head Sword & Scabbard ~Marked~
Imperial German Lion Head Sword& Scabbard. SWORD& SCABBARD Up for auction is this original Imperial German lion head sword and scabbard. As you can see. The crossguard, pommel and handle are bronze and are intricately detailed. The pommel is in the shape of a lions head and there is what appears to be a dogs head at one end of the hilt. Even more unusual is the image of Medusa on one of the chappe's while the opposite chappe is smooth. I was able to find information where the image of Medusa was used on Imperial swords but this image is different from the others. The other examples I found had a profile view of Medusa, while this sword has a frontal view. The sword measures 39-3/4" in the scabbard and is 39-1/4" without. The actual blade length is a tad over 34" The blade is etched on both sides but it is difficult ... moreto see in places. The sword is marked underneath the chappe and though it is very difficult to see, I was able to sketch a rough image of what the mark appears to be. If someone out there in Ebay land can identify the maker, I will add that to the listing. The grip is all original and appears to be in great shape. I have included a large number of photographs for your inspection~. The CONDITION of this antique sword is VERY GOOD. The blade of the sword does have some light tarnish in places and the engraving is somewhat worn. The last 1/8" of the sword tip is bent. The grip is in wonderful shape and quite tight. Finally. The scabbard has some light rusting at the end but is generally in good shape. Overall, this sword displays wonderfully and would make a great addition to your collection~. The numbers are also on an applied piece of metal on the back. There is a pin that just lifts up with a little tab to affix the stem.
