This ice box has over 20 hand carved pieces on the two front doors, nice detailed lion head carvings and two large paw feet. All of these carvings were hand made by highly skill woodworkers in the 1890's. The columns on the sides are really nice oak rope carvings that are below each lion head and extends down to the top of each paw foot. Underneath the top ledge are unusual oak trim with heart style carvings on all three sides. The bevelled mirror is in great shape, no chips, scratches or hazeThis ice box is solid oak and has never been painted before. A lot of the ice boxes that you see listed were painted before and when finished, they have a washed out appearance from the paint still present in the grain of the wood. This ice box has a beautiful smooth finish and a rich color to it. You will not be disappointed one bit with this item. Three panel folding dressing screen or room divider having three embroidered silk panels with beautifully carved ... moreframe. Top center panel has inset honeycomb lattice with carved center medallion having an orchid motif. Above this rests a dragon motif carved crest. Measures 74in height and about 60in width when fully open. Condition: A small piece is broken off just above the right hand lions head. The right hand side trim piece surrounding the honeycomb panel is missing. There is a small repaired crack to the top right of the left hand panel. That panel is also just slightly warped inward toward the top which is noticeable when you are staring at it at a perpendicular angle.

Up for your consideration we have a n old silver snuff box or trinket box that is in very nice condition. This box has the following markings; an ornate uppercase"A" in a circle. What appears to be"WRBO" in a rectangle, a sovereign head duty mark and a lion passant. We aren't silver experts, but from our research it appears this little box is from somewhere between 1879-1890. We could not find an exact match to the date letter. I have taken the best photos I can of these marks so you can judge for yourself. Grosser" pattern German Imperial Prussian lion head sword for an artillery officer. Great condition except one nick in the blade(see pictures) The lion head hilt is finely chased and fire gilt and much larger than the standard lion head. The blade is also wider than the standard and measures 1 1/5 inches width. Blade length is 31 ¾ inches. The blade is extremely fine made in the most expensive type of damascus. The large roses pattern. In the German imperial time. A damascus blade of this type roughly did cost 70 times the price of the standard blade! Lot of 2 Vintage Lion's Head Shelf Bracket Supports Corbels
These two plaster lion's heads purportedly came from the old Aragon Ballroom in Chicago during the 20's and 30's but take that bit of trivia with a grain of salt as that is what we were told by the seller. My wife and I have had them since 1963 and they were old when we acquired them at an auction outside of Chicago. We used them as decorations for many years but they no longer suit our decorating style. They are being sold as a pair. They measure 14" tall. 6" wide and 8" deep. They are made of plaster and have brackets molded into them through which I installed bolts to support them. They weigh a bit over 8 lbs each. One has some damage at the top where it supports the shelf but I think that is easily repairable.

This is a great old lion head carving. Probably 19th century, that has a brass ring to use as a wall mount holder; extremely detailed carving makes this not want to be cluttered by anything hanging on it at all, but your choice; maybe a fine linen towel? It is 6 3/4" tall, and 2 1/4" wide. Top shelf extends 1 5/8" total depth about 2 1/2" After searching for a while, I finally found the seam; brass ring is 1/4" and seamless; the bottom part of the lions jaw is cut just 1/4" slice out of the wood, then the solid 2 1/2" across brass ring was slipped in, and the slice was returned very skillfully, a long time ago. Patina all matches beautifully, it is the original slice of wood.

These are very nicely detailed original vintage brass lion stampings or findings. He looks like he is roaring right at you. A lion is the second largest cat after the tiger.and is the symbol of power and courage. These pieces measure slightly over 1 inch tall. You get 12 of these lion stampings in this group. 8705-s103. This is a quite stunning oak corbel with the lion head and other of which: During our research we have been informed it dates from the 17th century and is of black forest origin. Dates about c1680. Certainly a quite superb intricate relief carved corbel with: centrally the head of the lion with its fine detailing. Other carvings to the flat area below the head and to the curved area above. Intricate carvings of the feet and claws to the base area. Carvings to either side. Carved in an oak and c arved in relief. Therefore a one piece carved corbel. Has an overall size of about 11 x 3.5inches. Max depth of 3.25 inches. Condition: Considering the age. Vintage Mid Century Valsan Brass Door Knocker - Lion Head - Made in Portugal
Up for bid is a wonderful Brass Lion's Head Door Knocker. This knocker was made in Portugal. By a company named Valsan. I am estimating it as mid century from information on the company's website. They began in 1925 and made mostly brass items and this sort of thing until the mid 1960s. Between 1970 and 1980, they switched to making mostly bathroom fixtures. This is a really lovely piece and a great size. It would work on most average size doors. So it won't look like you stole it from a castle! It has a nice patina, with some duller parts and some shiny parts. It would go well with a traditional decor, or could be that one traditional piece that every modern decor needs to have for balance. In addition to using as intended on a door, it would be very nice mounted for wall decor. Head is approximately 3 1/4" w x 4" long. ... moreOverall length. Gold tone lion head pendant is a beautiful piece signed on the back by the designer Razza and it measures about 3& 1/8" inches long x about 2.5" inches wide and the chain link chain has about a 10" drop to the rings on the back.
