The frame is very sturdy. There are areas of rubbing to finish and it could use a good cleaning with the appropriate products,which I will leave to its new owner. I have viewed many examples of antique Victorian era furniture, but have not seen one with the exact same details. There are no markings, so this very well may be a home-made folk art piece by someone with good.woodworking skills.
